WOW !!! My neighbor/ friend asked me to put this message in because she was so angry during & after going to Hair Cuttery in North Port, she was afraid of what she would say. So, I am "calming the review down a bit". She doesn't think they should even get a 1 *. She went because the reviews on YELP were good. Everything that could go wrong.... went wrong !!!! First, she spent almost 4 hours in that shop just getting a color & cut. Hannah was the Salon Stylist for her. My friend honestly believes this was her first day on the job. She needs a LOT more training. To summarize, her color was wrong and they had to redo it and added another product to "calm" the first color. And at the end.... The color was still splotchy as best. Then the cut was more like a "chop" than a synchronized styling. The "chop" was very irregular and uneven cuts. And, though her hair wasn't long, they chopped off so much, my friend is embarrassed walking around in public and feels like she needs a wig. At the end of her time and poor experience in this Salon, knowing how unhappy my friend was.... they told her~ "today will be no charge". My friend said.... You're damn right, no charge. She will not be going back to that Salon ever again. She does state...... If you feel a need to select this location, do not.... She repeats....DO NOT see Hannah !! read more

Daughter came in for a wolf cut but did not receive one. As they stylist had no idea what it was nor how to do it even when shown the picture. The assistant manager explained to her how to do it and she still did not do it correctly nor did she bother to dry nor even try to style it into the proper look. If you do not have someone who knows how to do a certain cut then the job needs to be given to someone who does. Will be speaking to the manager on Monday about this and will be doing a charge back on my card. read more

I am pleased with how my hair was colored and trimmed. What bothers me about the Fantastic Sam's is that they are always pushing other products and services on their customers. I will not return because this last time services were added to my bill and I do not recall agreeing to them. Why can't they just do what I'm scheduled to have done without adding other services to which I may not have agreed? Katheryn Michael did an amazing job giving me lots of good suggestions after really listening to me and complaints about my hair. Great tips to get my hair functional as it needed to be easy to do, and she came up with a great look now as I grow it out. Showed me several styles and helped me really find a color and style that'll work since I have such trouble fine hair. She did a total hair color transformation as well. It's become a " Fantastic Sams" quality salon. Poorly managed leaving the stylist set up for failure and frustration. The salon is dirty from top to bottom. The quality of the stylist have gone down, aside from a couple of the old school girls who are holding on. Your new stylist selection leaves you wondering if you're better off at the technical college salon school. After spending almost $200 for a color and cut, blowout. I left with color still not rinsed from the back of my head. This was after the blowout! Needless to say if you can't rinse your clients head properly or even wipe the neck off or around the face, or realize that there's a damp spot that on your clients head that's not drying because there's still color left on, your not ready for the real salon world. This is a ROOKIE mistake made in cosmetology school! Quality is not a priority at this location any longer. It starts with managers not being good at their job and the rest slides down from there. brought my daughter in for a haircut around 6:50 - we called a little earlier and the man said he could do a 7pm cut but might not have time for the blowout because they were busy. not a huge deal. we got there and there was only one other person in there already with someone lol. Anyways, Tim was her stylist and he did a great job. he listened to what she was looking for and even asked if he should take more off based on what we discussed and making sure he didnt do it without making sure its what she wanted. he didnt have time for the blow out which is the only reason for the 4 stars. but once her hair dried, it looked really great. good layers, nice texture. very good job. she will go back! read more

I will never understand how a place has 3 stylist but this not 2 can tk appointments so when I get here for walk in later in the day as I was told to do the walk in stylist has taken a color client. Are you kidding me there is no one else waiting but my wait time for a cut is over an hour! Ridiculous that if you only have 1 stylist that can do walk ins that color clients can just walk in and take up all the walk in times. Never understood how they schedule appointments or lack there of at this place. Being newer to town I wish I just had time to find another salon but being my only day for a cut and couldn't get an appointment I'm forced to sit here and wait. This is exactly like my last visit here and it took over an hour and a half just to get waited on. Even worse this time as there are no other waiters st all and I still have to wait that long. Friendly people-but, they need to really work on their listening skills. The stylist and I agreed that 2&1/2 inches of my length should be cut, but, she took a total of 4" instead. She also kept harassing me about cutting long layers into my long hair. After about the third time, I acquiesced. I am so sorry I let her talk me into it. I won't make that mistake again. They were also very concerned about selling product. They need to focus more on actually cutting hair (while simultaneously employing some active listening skills) rather than moving product. I hate to say this because the stylist was nice, but she was very rough, my forehead had visible scratches from her nails. It didn't feel good at all when she was washing my hair. She yanked my hair around like a rag doll. The worst part was that she seemed to be more interested in conversations with her co workers than my hair. She'd look at them while actually cutting my hair which made me nervous. I showed her pictures of how I wanted my bangs and she agreed, i thought we were on the same page and she did pretty much the opposite of what I wanted and what we talked about. My hair cut didn't even get to happen. They need to employ some sort of system where there's a team of stylists to handle appointments and a team to handle walk-ins. I last went to Great Clips and they messed up my hair. I decided to try Hair Cuttery on my way home from work to get it fixed. I checked in on the website, which said there was a 0-15 minute wait. Awesome. I got there and their computers had just had some issues and shut down on them unexpectedly. Okay, it happens, whatever. I tell them I checked in online, making things supposedly faster. About 30-40 minutes go by after I get there and not only had I waited longer than the estimated 15 minutes, but 2-3 people with appointments came in and were taken care of right away. They also in this time told someone who walked in it was a 45-minute wait and wouldn't let them make an appointment for later in the week (maybe because it was a guy?). After waiting for over 45 minutes, I got up and told the girl I was leaving. I told her what the estimated wait time had said when I checked in and that I was done waiting.
