We had to come in for a last minute oopsy from my 4 year old. They had appointments and we were seen on time. Everyone was so friendly and joking around. The Stylist was new, and I was perfectly fine with that. With that being said, it would be nice if you would tell clients only because sometimes someone new might not be able to fix something. Again, I would've said yes because we've all learnt something new at some point but I can imagine this could cause the new person some preventable angry customers. While there my 6 year old decided she wanted a fringe too, so another stylist took her. They were over the moon because they had their hair washed without water dripping into their eyes. It was very clean and the prices are reasonable for kids cuts. I didn't look or ask about adult cuts. I like that they're open late as well! We will definitely be back the next time they need a trim or any one of them experiment's again. read more

I originally booked my appointment online with Alexis for 9am Monday morning for a balayage. I booked this appointment on Friday. I get a call on Saturday from Alexis stating that their website was wrong about the pricing & how long it was going to take. She then proceeded to tell me if im ever getting color on my hair to always call the place. I just moved here from Arizona & get my hair done in Scottsdale & always booked online with no issues. The site being wrong isn't my fault, but nonetheless I just said no worries and id book over the phone in the future. She then told me she wouldn't be able to do my hair until 1pm that day instead of 9am. No worries, I have a cruise coming up January 2nd and just need my hair done. Fast forward to Sunday night & Monday morning, I am getting text notifications saying my appointment is at 12:10pm (pictured above) and figured it's close enough to 1pm & if the timing is wrong im right down the street & can just come back home if it's not 12:10pm. I show up at 12:10 just for them to tell me the text alerts are wrong & to come back at 1pm. No worries. I grab food really quick and start heading back for my appointment. I am in the parking lot at 1:02pm, walking towards the building when they start calling me (shown in picture above). I decline the call since im walking up & once I get inside Alexis is like "I was just calling to make sure you were coming".....at 1:02pm when my appointment is at 1pm and I was just there at 12:10pm?? Whatever, she then sits me down & asks what I want. I show her pictures of what I want just for her to say it's not a balayage, but a foliage. I've always booked my appointments for balayage & never had anyone tell me the difference, and most times they do put foil in my hair. She explains it's a longer process & more work. I then go on Pinterest to look up balayage hair inspo & the pictures I showed her before pop up. I then show her & explain im confused on why Pinterest would show so many "foliages" under balayage, but proceeded to ask if she can do a foliage then. She said yes but it's "more work and more time". She then brings me two estimates for a partial and a full. I ask her based on the pictures I showed her what would look best like the inspo. She says "im not sure". And we just look at each other for a minute before I say that I don't know either cause I don't do hair. She then asks to see the pictures again and says it'll be a partial. I said perfect and let's do it! super excited to get my hair done since I haven't in awhile & I was tired of the dark brown. She then started playing with my hair and proceeded to tell me in a full salon that my hair is just too damaged. Literally made me feel so insecure about my hair and kept saying really loudly how damaged my hair is and that she couldn't do it because of the damage. She said my hair would fall out and then said "here's what we're gonna do, im gonna cut your hair and then send you off with shampoo and conditioner to help your hair and come back in a couple weeks". Excuse me? I have a cruise on Friday....i tell her that's not what I want to do and if my hair is really too damaged to do anything then im just going to leave. I felt like she didn't want to do her job and was being lazy so i left. This morning I booked an appointment out in Orlando with Libby and she did my hair!! Libby said my hair isn't damaged to where they can't do my hair. Literally told me not to feel insecure about my hair at all because most of her clients have heat damaged hair and some breakage. That it's normal. That when I called yesterday on the phone she expected me to come in with some crazy damaged hair, especially since another hairstylist said so. She said that Alexis was just being lazy and honestly probably didn't know how to do the hair I wanted. Here are the pictures of my hair that Libby did !! Go book with her at Bamboo Salon and make the hour drive. Definitely worth it! Don't waste your time here with unprofessionals who will make you feel insecure about your hair, their website is messed up so the services they offer aren't correct, will almost ruin plans for you to have your hair done for an event, & will switch up the times on you because they're lazy. Do not book with Alexis ESPECIALLY if you have upcoming plans and need your hair done for a special occasion. I have never been so upset in my life since I left my hair appointment yesterday. I was pushed into getting a "value package" and getting a hair cut I did not want. Over 3-4 inches of my hair is GONE. My hair is choppy and one side is shorter than the other. My highlights have bleach spots all over and none of it blends. There are portions of my hair with no highlight and there are bleed marks where there are highlights. I will be going in tomorrow to request my money back, I'm sure I will have no luck but will be trying as I now have to pay someone else to correct their mistake. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Whenever I get a haircut, there are usually two points I take into consideration when I go to a salon or barber shop: location and/or price. For me, I like to get my haircut at Cuts & Color in Melbourne Square Mall. It is only $5 (plus tipping your stylist or barber), a price you can't beat! However, I need a place that is close to my home just in case. Thankfully, there is a Hair Cuttery nearby. And thankfully also, they do an A-Okay job when it comes to my hair. Firstly, Hair Cuttery is located in a Publix Shopping Plaza on the northeast quadrant of Bayside Lakes Blvd. and Eldron Blvd. It is the store right next to Publix actually. Interior is nothing out of the norm for a salon. Hair dryers, chairs, washing stations, etc. Place does seem a bit small compared to other Hair Cuttery locations so if you're very claustrophobic, you might want to take that little tidbit into account. As for the haircut, it doesn't take much for what I need. I just need a professional haircut that keeps my hair off the collar and the ears. To put it bluntly, any decent hair stylist can provide what I want. It is the experience that matters at this point as in, "what will I feel getting a cut there?" I can't vouch for women, but for men, it is simple. You'll get your cut and even your shampoo, but it was missing that "extra" bit of love that I've usually get at other places (including other Hair Cuttery locations). For example, the shampoo was unenthusiastic with barely any scalp massaging. Ultimately, I will say this Hair Cuttery is A-Okay, but I would rather go to a place that pampers me, something this place lacked. If all you need is a no-nonsense cut, go here if you are nearby. If you want some personal attention, go elsewhere. read more

Horrible! I get a blow out and she rushes through it. So now my hair is fluffy and still wet. She tries to put more stuff in it... Oil to make it not look as fluffy so now what was the purpose of even washing it? I will never come back in there! I mean, if you can't do a blowout what can you do? First let me start off by saying, I am new to the area and just needed a quick cut and this is close to my home. I walked in and was immediately greeted and put in a chair and did not have to wait what so ever. Every cut comes with a wash, so we started with that after telling her what I wanted. It was a standard wash, nothing crazy. Then she started cutting my hair. I will say I do think it took a little longer than I expected, but the outcome was worth it. I had my hair cut here per usual. I go here cause its down the street from my house on the lakes. The girl who cut my hair the previous time was horrible. I forgot what she looked like but I am pritty sure it was the same one who cut my hair today. When the cashier checked me in I asked who the last person who cut my hair was. She said oh she dont work here no more.. she lied. It was her. I knew it. I just didnt want to be rude and embaress here. But stay away from Kassandra she is no good at this profession. My son came in to get a hair cut before school starts later this week. We asked to have his hair shampooed, cut and styled. The stylist couldn't be bothered to shampoo his hair but charged me for it anyway. The cut she did isn't what we asked for and is much shorter than what we wanted. Tried to be polite while she was cutting his hair and reiterate what he wanted done but the stylist became agitated and argumentative, insisting that she was doing what was asked. I have been going to this Hair Cuttery for the last year and a half and have been very satisfied with Brittany (whose no longer there) and Christi who has been cutting our hair. Unfortunately, this time I waited until the last minute to get my daughters hair cut and school pictures are tomorrow. Last night I went in and had to let Marcello cut it. He told her he wanted to use a razor and dry cut her hair. Never had a stylist done that but took his advise. He picked up the back of her hair straight up and started whacking it like he was using a machete. Not liking it and very leery, I tried to be optimistic. I noticed a big gap in the front of her hair. When I voiced my concern, he started pulling the hair forward and assured me it would be fine. It was very choppy. He told me he would make sure it was even using the scissors after he washed it. While washing her hair, he asked my daughter if I was a hair stylist. Obviously a jab at me questioning what he was doing. He came back and told me I offended him. I regret not stopping him from cutting her hair and tipping him. I was trying to avoid confrontation and keep from be chastised again by not tipping. When we got home, mhy daughter cried for 15 minutes before I could calm her down. read more
