I went in originally to just get a hair cut, which came out good. While I was doing that another stylist walked in and her hair was super pretty. The style was called a halo, I believe. The lady who was cutting my hair asked me if I wanted any color today so I asked her how much it would cost for the halo style that the stylist had. Originally they told me like $43 which is pretty good. The lady cutting my hair told me she was the one who did it. I have dark brown hair and I wanted the halo part to be a golden blonde color so it would need to be bleached. I told her 3 times that I box dye my roots, asked if that would be problematic , she assured me it wouldn't. So I scheduled an appointment for the next day to get it done. The next day they bring me the consent form and it said $174. I told her that yesterday they quoted me $43. Apparently that was wrong, I believe a lot of this has to do with a language barrier. So some things get taken off and it comes down to like $120 something, I think. I told them I'm not spending over $100, tip included. Changes are made again and it's now $72. If I knew this would've been the outcome due to a pricing issue, I would've just left. I showed her a reference photo that I'm gonna add. I told her I wanted it to look like that but the purple parts would be blonde. I told her I didn't want a bunch of blonde to completely frame my face. It doesn't compliment my skin tone. So she sections my hair and I told her there was too much up in the front. She told me not to worry because the brown hair will cover it. I've never had my hair dyed at a salon, I hardly even get my haircut. So I trust her because after all she did a great job on the other stylist. She's putting the bleach in my hair and foiling it. It started to burn my forehead because there was bleach and foil resting on it but what really hurt was the top of my ear. She said it was because my helix ring was interacting with the bleach but I had the same earrings in my lobes that weren't affected by the bleach. I'm not 100% sure but my neighbor is a nurse and she said that doesn't seem likely that it was the earring, she said it looks more like a chemical burn. She washes my hair and puts on a gloss or a toner or both? I'm not sure so I can't say. When I get home to check it out and style it like normal is when it gets worse. The roots are near transparent the rest is like a yellow color. It's just so bad. Most importantly the hair that was bleached is FRIED. I'm not sure if that's normal but it doesn't feel like it should be this bad. It's so weak and it feels so awful like it's just gonna pull apart. I wanted to cry. My whole face is framed with blonde, which is exactly what I DIDN'T want. When I put my hair up it looks like my hair is completely blonde in the front and sides. So I call and tell them, the lady seems to get a bit defensive even after she talked about wanting her clients to be happy. She said I was happy with it before I left but the salon lighting is a lot different when you're looking in the mirror from the salon chair at 5ft away, opposed to looking at my hair in natural lighting and the lighting at home in a mirror that is a foot or two away. She wants me to come back in a couple days but to do what exactly? The only option aside from fixing the yellow is to dye the other parts back to brown so I can get what I actually wanted and I'm not paying for that. I went to Sally's beauty to see if I could fix it at home. Told the lady I had just got this done at Hair Cuttery. She gave me that raised eyebrow look and asked how much I paid for that. It looks as if I bleached my hair at home myself. I'm scared to do anything with my hair. I feel like if I dye back to brown that it'll turn green and fall out because it's so weak. I don't even know if I can still straighten my hair. I'm so upset and now completely self conscious. I have to go to work like this tomorrow and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not going to name drop they stylist on the review. I'm hoping the manager is willing to make this right. *Edit* Mackenzie reached out and asked if she could help fix my hair. I declined. I was worried about putting more chemicals on my hair and causing further damage. She was really nice about it and understanding and she refunded my money. read more

This was my first and last visit. The service was ok, but you need to have a quick basic consultation when booking your appointment. There is no pricelist for services rendered. I am sure that over the years my fellow yelped have been to nail salons that the nail techs speak in their native tongue, same thing happens in Hair Cuttery, several stylists speaking in Spanish. Especially when they are discussing what price to charge you for the service you just received. Not every stylist did this, but at least 3 or 4. This is not a place l would recommend. I will most likely post again after the 17th. When l checked my bank as l do EVERY day l was overcharged 20 dollars more than quoted . I am waiting to see if the 20 dollars is returned. If not my dispute will officially filed, now l will have to get a new card and all the hassle that entails. Who has time for all the hassle????? read more

A place that you tell the hairdresser how you want your hair, show her pictures of what you want, and she does the EXACT OPPOSITE. Then when you aren't happy, threatens you by calling the cops and demands you pay full price ($300) for your ruined hair!!! So you ruined my hair, humiliated me, and took my money! Just because once I sat in the chair, you think you can do WHATEVER you want to my hair! I don't feel I should have to pay for a service that she COMPLETELY did wrong. (Plus living with the exact opposite color than I wanted, she just did to my hair that ruined my hair.) (Not to mention the total embarrassment she caused me.) You deserve 'No Stars,' but that's not an option. read more

Cut was fine but asked for angle and didn't get that...blow dry was awful I had to come home and do it myself

I went with a picture but the stylist paid no mind to it at all. I received a completely different haircut. I walked out looking like I had an old lady haircut that just wasn't dyed blue. I tried to engage the stylist in conversation, to get her attention on me but she was watching the door/lobby area and jumping to greet new guests. She was also too busy complaining about the music playing in the shop and rolling her eyes toward the other stylist there. She spoke English pretty well but I do not believe she understands it well or she was just choosing to ignore me. I would not recommend. read more

Well I wanted to update that the manager Teresa called me and wanted to make things right I went up there and she saw that there was damage to my hair. She gave me free products for damage bleached hair to repair my hair and told me that I can come back a month from now and get my hair done by a professional who knows what they're doing Nicole also Nicole reached out to me the very next day and wanted to make things right as well. I was afraid to go back because I lost all hope in Hair Cuttery, but Teresa and Nicole really help me. Nicole thank you for telling and showing the manager the pictures of my hair. I truly appreciate them trying their best to fix thing and help fix the mess Rosanna left me with since she damaged and ruined my hair. I haven't had my hair out or wore my hair. I have had to cover my hair up. Because I'm so embarrassed and ashamed of how my hair looks now, but hopefully soon it will be fixed. read more

Last Saturday (10/6/2018) I had my hair permed. When I left the salon I thought the hair looked good. I waited until Friday to wash my hair, because with my experience with having perm the longer you wait for first wash the eat result you get. I was shocked when I I saw parts if my hair with no curl at all. I asked for a tight curl because I was keeping my hair long. I am very unhappy with the service and will never return to have my hair done here again. It seems there is more socializing with the customers and no attention paid to the people who are receiving services. When she was putting on the perm solution I should have spoken up when I know she wasn't putting on all the solution. I know this when I saw her walking away and there was about a 1/4 of the solution in the bottle. My husband will no longer use this salon due to him being turned away at 6:45pm the precious Sunday and while I was thee they accepted a woman's haircut at 6:50pm. It isn't like you save lots of money using this salon. I will find another salon. Don't use this salon unless you want a plain old haircut. I think any service more complicated find a more established salon. read more

This is my third time to Hair Cuttery. I only get my haircut about once every six months. I'm cheap. The first two times, neither stylist blew my mind enough to make note of who they were to go back and visit them. They both did a very good job, and I had no problems with the haircut I received. They just weren't necessarily over an above kind of people. This time, I went to Monica. She was fantastic! I showed up at 9 for a 9:30 AM appointment. The lady at the desk said she would not be in until 9:30 AM, but she showed up and had me in the chair by 9:12 AM! I appreciate punctuality! She took her time with my hair asking me questions and even going back and taking additional time when she felt it wasn't quite up to her standards. I love getting a $24 haircut so I can give a big tip! I will tell you, you don't want to do a walk in. Most people make appointments. They say they accept walk-ins, but if you do a walk-in, you're going to have to wait for a while. I have always done appointments, and they have been pretty good about getting me in on time. Do yourself a favor, if you want to use them, go online and schedule an appointment. read more

Just stopped by there at 535pm with a 6 o'clock closing to see if I could get a quick business trim. Their was one stylist and client and 3 stylists standing at the counter doing nothing. They said no they couldn't do it so I left but it bothered me as I drove away. I asked nicely and they talked to me like an annoyance. I have been there for 5 or 6 haircuts there this year and no one has spent more than 20 minutes on my hair. Don't think I will ever go back. Shouldn't be hard to find a place where decent people cut hair nearby. Not interested in a free haircut if anybody from this crappy company reads this. read more

The woman up front at the register was very rude with my wife and 15 year old daughter today. My wife had made an appointment for my daughter. When they went inside to sit down, the woman at the register told my wife she couldn't stay inside while my daughter was there to get her hair done. My wife explained that my daughter is a minor, and should not be left alone there. The woman insisted that my wife go outside. My daughter was in tears over the way this employee of the Hair Cuttery was treating my wife, and she left the salon very upset. No customer should ever be treated this way by an employee! My wife and daughter did nothing to deserve this kind of treatment! read more

I have been going to Hair Cuttery (Palm Bay) for more than 20 years and never had an issue until recently. I have always walked in, never waited more than 15-20 minutes but on 3/26 I had the worst experience ever and will not be going back. I walked in at 2:25 in the afternoon, I was not greeted and there were 2 ladies at the register area. One lady had just been checked in and sat down as I was enetering so I figured it wouldn't be a long wait. After a couple of minutes I finally stepped up and they looked at me like "what do you want", I said I just wanted a haircut. The one lady said she had an appt. at 2:40 and that I could wait to see if they show up. Ok, then a man walks in a few minutes after me, they greet him, and ask what he wants and he says a haircut. The lady that just said she had an appt. at 2:40 then takes the guy that came in after me before me. So, 2:30, 2:35, 2:40, 2:45, 2:50 and 2 older ladies walk in and both say they have 2:40 appointments. I walked out....what exactly is their policy???? read more

I can not say how much I love Pedro and the incredible service my whole family receives. My husband and son will not go anywhere else. Pedro has always done a fantastic job. When I first went to Pedro I was trying to grow my hair long. She offered great products and knowledge and respected that I wanted to hold on to as much length as possible. I'm a PA native that relocated to Palm Bay, FL in October. I had tried two other salons prior to my visit here today and was extremely displeased with the other two. I have never been to a Hair Cuttery before, but opted to give it a try after reading all of the wonderful reviews out there about this particular salon. Third time is definitely a charm in this case as Pedro is AMAZING!!!! I was greeted with a big smile and invited to sit down to go over exactly what I was looking to have done. Pedro listened very carefully and went over everything with me every step of the way. The result was ON POINT!!!! Pedro's talent shined through in more ways than one! I couldn't be happier and have never been as ecstatic as I am right now with a hair cut in my entire life! I'm as picky as they come when it comes to my baby fine hair, so take my advice when I say that I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEDRO!!!!! I want to preface my review by saying the stylist, Jessica, did call me later to apologize and to offer me a discount (half off) on my next service, should I decide to return to this shop. With that said, this was my experience: My daughter recommended Jessica to me after having her hair cut and colored by her at this location. I hadn't had my hair cut in four months and was looking forward to having it shaped up by someone who came recommended. I called the shop on Monday, 1/4/16 and booked an appointment with Jessica for Thursday, 1/7/16 at 2:00 p.m. I arrived two minutes before my appointment, only to find Jessica was in the middle of another customer's cut. After standing at the counter for a bit, another stylist greeted me and checked me in. She did not bother to tell Jessica her 2:00 appointment had arrived. I had a seat and waited for 20 minutes. When Jessica was finally finished with the customer, she checked her out, looked at the appointment book, and called another customer to her station. This other customer had just entered the salon! I approached the desk and the stylist who originally checked me in asked if I needed help. I told her I had an appointment with Jessica at 2. The stylist asked me if I had checked in. (Really?) I told her I had. She then said, "Oh yeah, your Jessica's next appointment." I told her I was, but that Jessica had just taken someone else to her station. I then told her I had already waited 20 minutes, and I was now cancelling. As I walked away, all I heard was a faint, "Oh. Okay...sorry." and that was the extent of this location's customer service. My time is valuable. I understand things can go haywire at a salon, as apparently happened this day, but simply acknowledging me and letting me know the situation would have satisfied me completely.
