I have been a long time customer. Last time I will ever go here... I walk in at 7:30 pm and online and on their front door the hours say 8 o'clock. The ladies working there on 5-21-26 clearly did not want to work anymore and told me due to their new summertime hours. They close at 7:30 and denied me a haircut. I have been using this location the past couple of visits and so far Natalie and Lisa have both nailed it with my style. I am a little picky so having two different stylists and walking out really happy back-to-back will keep me returning. Scheduling is easy online or on the phone but I do recommend booking as opposed to walk-in just to be safe. They are busy alot, which is another sign of a good salon, IMO. My mom went for hair coloring and she had horrible experience.Natalie did a shoddy job.Hair color came off from hair to the forehead and now it is not even coming off.It is all over her forehead.I spoke with Nikki.She is the Manager.She just tried to play it down and sounded rude. She had the audacity to ask us to use dish soap on the face to clean it up!! Will not recommend this location.These guys lack basic skills, they mess up things and then they have a manager to cover it up for them. I'm a 55yr old female who got sick and that caused my hair to become thin as threads and almost completely fall out. I was going out for the first time in months and wanted my hair to look just a little nice. The woman (never got her name. she was a middle aged woman with a brunette short bob) there got super annoyed when I asked her to wash my hair. She told me that there was nothing she could do to make my hair look any better and all she could do was trim 2 inches off the bottom. She spent about 20 seconds on cutting my hair. Then she took off the cape and said "ok, you're done." I asked if she could at least blow dry it and she said, "no, we close in 2 minutes." I was charged $35 for about 8 minutes of her time. I left there in tears. She was rude and heartless. I have never written a review in my life, but what that woman did and the way she treated another human being was just wrong. My sister was so excited to come here and get her hair done for school but... her hair was BAD in the end. We got a hair stylist by the name of CHYNTIA, and this lady was DRUNK or high i don't know. She was working under the influence that messed up her hair so badly that my 10 year old sister was crying when we got home. How i know she was under the influence? She kept dropping her tools, the shampoos, etc. She kept going outside to her car every minute she could and i know when i get my hair done and i've got it done so many times that that's not normal. On top of that the management of the company isn't doing anything because chyntia brings "customers in" but the thing is someone else is fixing her mess for free? How is that fair? It's fucked up. This woman doesn't deserve to be a hairstylist, she needs to get fired instead of moving her to different locations. DO BETTER!!!! I have visited this store 3 times in the last 3 months with my kids for haircuts. We were looking for new styles as they are graduating and getting older. I have to say that the stylists I have encountered at this Hair Cuttery are fantastic! Sometimes stylists don't want to cut kids hair: not here! My boys have been embraced and love their stylists. Bit kids got totally new styles and both look fantastic and are very pleased with their new looks. The salon is clean, stocked, and the staff friendly. I have nothing but positive things to say about this salon. We will return to our stylists and recommend them when we can. Thank you for taking care of my kids! I had my hair highlighted at this salon. When I looked at it as I left it looked fine. However, when I went to put my hair up in a pony, I noticed that underneath, it was pure white, white like a 90 year old woman's white hair, in a few spots. Like some of the foils had been left on too long. it was about 4 or 5 foils, worth of WHITE hair. I go back a 3 days later, to have it fixed. Thinking no big deal, they will re foil just those pieces in a darker shade of blonde. The Manager acted like I was crazy and said I needed to BUY a toner and have that put on my whole head. I said, " no I like the rest of my hair, it is just those few pieces, that are over colored and WHITE". She said there is nothing wrong with your hair. And said I could pay the price of a toner and have that put on later that day. I explained to her that I didn't think it was right for me to have to pay for another persons mistake. She called another hairdresser over who also said my hair looked fine. It does NOT, look fine. It has pure white strands of hair underneath and in my sideburn pieces. It looks awful. I don't think I was being unreasonable for asking for it to be fixed, at no charge. I am embarrassed to put my hair up and I do water aerobics, where I need to wear my hair up, and I am also going to Mexico where I will be wearing my hair up. The Manager basically threw me out. I have never been so embarrassed in all of my life. I was made to look like the bad guy, just for asking my hair to be done right this time. Just make those WHITE highlights a tad darker, like dark blonde. I went in to Sally's Beauty in Plainfield. I asked the man hairdresser that was working there, what I could do, showing him my hair. He said, oh that is not right, it is white underneath. He told me I need to go back to the salon and demand it be done right. Well I was not going back into that salon after being asked to leave. So I went to another Hair Cuttery, on New York St in Aurora IL, and was told there by the Manager, and another stylist, that my hair was messed up, and that they would call their Home Office and see what could be done, and given a 4;30 appt for yesterday. I came back for my 4:30 appt and was told I would have to pay for the cost of a toner, I think she said it was $53. Mind you I have already paid $53 plus a $10 tip only 2 days prior for a partial highlight, that a hairdresser ( Dolores) at the Plainfield location had already messed up. I then told them how I should not have to pay for someone else's mistake and I had wasted a whole day on trying to have my hair fixed, and still not being fixed. I have NEVER been treated so rudely by a company before in my life. I have never been asked to leave an establishment before in my life. I was treatly very unfairly and very unprofessionally by not one but 2 Hair Cuttery's. I will NEVER darken their doorstep again, and I suggest that you do not either. This is not the way to treat customer's especially at a time like this. I know you have already closed many stores and filed bankruptcy, due to lack of business, due to Covid. read more

I took my daughter to dye her ends purple I was told that she needed to bleach it some more or else the hair dye wouldn't grab so I did I payed more then 120 dollars and the dye didn't even last 3 days and went I went back they wouldn't even give me half off towards a hair cut being that I was going to cut all the dye part, the manager was super rude asking if I don't wash the hair with ice cold water it wouldn't last like who takes ice cold showers,makes no sense she was super rude.. never again... read more

HORRIBLE customer service! We "walked in" to get my daughters hair cut and was told there was a 50 minute wait, there were 3 other people sitting there waiting. As we sat there, between each client, the stylists (there were 3 of them) went into the back for long periods of time until the bell of the door announced another client was coming in. We finally walked out after we were left sitting there for 15 minutes until someone new came in & she walked out and took that client immediately. We could have been almost finished by that time. I understand that some people may have made appointments, but then there shouldnt be a sign stating "WALK INS WELCOME!"
