Scheduled an appointment to trim the hair ends was told it's 25$ got a call two hours before my appointment saying that they scheduled it for a bangs trim and my price will be actually different 80-100$ the receptionist spent 15 min explaining how their system works I asked the manager to call the manager isn't available she said. In the end Lisa the owner/ the stylist who was supposed to do my hair called me, again explaining same story for another 15 min , why are u explaining to me how your system works explain it to your employees so they can schedule my appointment properly. If u are an owner and a stylist and care about your business just cut that hair why u even bother troubling me obviously it's not my fault or problem in the end she said with attitude that she will cut my hair for that price but frankly I was so annoyed and angry I just canceled. It's not because of service, it's about their DISCRIMINATION policy regarding of family with kids! It wasn't my first time there, even my 6 years old daughter had haircut there, but the last time I came for coloring, they refused me in service because I came with my 3,5 years old daughter and they told me she will be bother another clients, meanwhile she just watching cartoons and doesn't do anything inappropriate! Also for consideration it was 10 am on Friday and I was the ONLY customer inside the building... But even if they do have such DISCRIMINATION policy, they supposed to tell me that before and not when I came! Rachael is amazing with the textured hair cutting techniques and smoothing as well as styling most people don't really know how to properly blow dry cut and style textured hair but I tell you she does and I'm a very picky former licensed cosmetologist as well. Not sure why I haven't reviewed Salon Fluxx until now, but better late than never! I've been going to see Rachel (cut) and Damara (color) for I think around 8+ years now. They both do an amazing job and I am never disappointed. They have fixed my hair multiple times when I tend to stray off and think I can handle my own hair (I can't, lol). They are very professional , they listen to what you want and then shape that into what will work best for your skin tone, face shape, etc. I haven't lived in Naperville for 6 years and still make a point to go back to them, that's how good they are! Two stars only because everyone was very nice and polite. However I'm extremely disappointed in my service , I went in to touch up root color and explained to my stylist I hate brass and orange I'll prob need a toner . After my hair was colored I was told everything looked good and proceeded drying ( I was not shown my hair) after a Blowdry I finally saw my hair , orange roots ! Neither the color stylist , washer or blow dryer stylist felt the need to say anything . So for a root color and prob 15 foils my service costed 180.00. Not to mention the black still in my hair that wAs covered up , don't get me wrong I'll never mind paying the money for a amazing service however 180 bucks later I find myself at sallys having to tone my own hair and using a purple shampoo , it's sad when everyone in the area wanted to know how this salon was and I had to not recommended it the photos say it all read more

I started going to salon fluxx in January. They seemed nice. They have a deal if you refer someone to your stylist you receive 25% off your next service. I referred someone to my stylist and was TOLD by the woman at the front I would receive 25% off my next cut. When I went to pay the next time I was charged the whole price of $47. They said they wished there was something they could do, (and it was a mistake on their part) but instead of trying to resolve the matter they lost a client. This salon is overpriced and their products aren't good. My hair is always dried out after I get it colored. read more

In Sephora, several employees stopped me to look at my hair, compliment the placement of the color, and the color itself. I was referred to Michaela at Salon Fluxx by an old friend who is an excellent colorist there (Robin Ihbe). I have been to Michaela twice and my hair hasn't looked better in years! I was thrilled to find her! I always say that it's a blessing and a curse to be a former hairstylist looking for a stylist for myself. When I get a cut that is technically incorrect, I am VERY aware of it. After two years of living in Chicago and sparing no expense seeking a competent stylist, I never did find anyone who was skilled and consistent. I wear my hair on my head EVERY DAY. I want it to look good, be easy to style and I want the same haircut every time I go in unless I decide otherwise. Michaela takes obvious pride in her work, is professional and articulate, and very committed to her clients' satisfaction. Liza is absolutely one of the most talented stylists I have ever met. Her cutting skills really impress me every time I go. My hair is versatile and trendy, without being so over the top that I can not wear it to my corporate job. However, the most impressive thing is how her haircuts grow out. I can go 8 weeks, easy, without a trim. Her recommendations on products really will let you recreate "salon hair" by yourself. I'll admit it, I was apprehensive and scared to leave my stylist in Chicago. The hour long drive had become too much and it was time to find someone I could trust in Naperville. I hit the jackpot with Salon Fluxx! When I first called to book an appointment, the receptionist seemed genuinely concerned about matching me with the right stylist not only in terms of my personal stlye and needs but in regards to price. The salon has different levels of practioners but their prices adequately reflect their talents. I do pay a little more than I did in the city, but the whole $10 is nothing for what I save in gas and time. Not to mention the fact that my new "hair team" is nothing short of awesome! Stylists here specialize in either color or cutting (or "hair shaping" as they call it) and it shows! I've had three haircuts and one color visit and I'm happier than I had been with my salon in the city. Rachel is my stylist and I have visited Diana for color. Both ladies are knowledgable, professional, and customer-centered but so incredibly friendly and genuine. I feel like they both really listen to my needs. Rachel has given me exactly the cut I've wanted each time and has really helped to educate me on working with my fine hair. All the staff at Salon Fluxx has been friendly and helpful. I was afraid to go anywhere else, because the salon was great and I loved and trusted my colorist. I've been looking for a replacement salon/stylist/colorist ever since we moved from TX. Per recommendation I went to see Damara. She did a fantastic job! I requested that she try to provide a nice natural looking, well blended, two tone blonde and that all traces of red undertones be removed from my hair. With this little bit of info she was able to create a perfect natural looking blonde (based on skin tone), with a bit of oomph so I look like a million bucks. The receptionist is also very nice and the salon is very well lit so there's no guessing at your color when the colorist is finished. The salon is very well kept and smells great to boot. They are masters at asymmetrical bobs/wedge! Diana has always colored my hair. I like that she is honest about the process. She is a master colorist in my opinion. Salon carries Joico, Moroccan Oil, Pureology. The also have a selection of quality hair brushes and seasonal accessories like scarves and jewelry. Salon is not very big but always clean. Appointments are highly recommended as they are often booked solid. On time service always. They will up sell hair products they carry but don't push them. It is a business after all. read more

I just got one of the best haircuts and colors I've ever had done, by a team of wonderful people at Salon Fluxx here in Southern Naperville, shortly before the Holidays. The compliments just keep flowing, even 6 weeks later! My neighbor's hair helped me discover this salon. I first started seeing Colby for color per my neighbor's recommendation after my profuse compliment rant (it looked amazing!), and shortly after I discovered Tennile for cuts. That was in early 2015. I've been seeing both these ladies since then and I have not had this many compliments on my hair since I moved out of the city over a decade ago. Keep in mind the salon separates colorists and cutters so you get the best person for the task when you book them as they specialize in one or the other. Tennile is detail oriented and can give you the haircut you show her or you can communicate quite easily with her about your own ideas; I've done both. She is very good at giving me the best cut for my hair type, which is fine and straight. I do not have a lot of extra body, so she cuts me in a way that gives my hair lift and that awesome lightness when I turn my head and the hair just seems to flow. Colby, my colorist, works with the owner, Liza, as a "recent" hire to make sure you get the highest quality color. She has a gift with color. Liza, the owner, personally talks to me as well when I see Colby. That is how Fluxx trains them. I love seeing Liza in addition to Colby as she has a unique style and is willing to take risks if you are looking for something edgier. It feels like I'm getting 2 professional colorists for the high value price of one. The whole staff is friendly at this little salon. They work together to keep you comfortable. I'm so happy I discovered Fluxx and Colby (+Liza) and Tennile. The prices are an excellent value and this is the best place I have found in the area. I went to Salon Fluxx this past Saturday, and was completely blown away. I found out about them on Yelp, and they completely exceeded expectations. My color was done by Damara, who took it from stark and old to something much more current and natural (I had gross blonde panels in). She knew exactly what I wanted, and completely delivered on it. Rachel cut my hair, and I've literally never been more satisfied with a cut. I told her my problems with my hair, she asked a few questions, I showed a few pictures, and we went from there. She knows what to ask to know what I want. The best part; she showed me how to style my hair once I got home. Rachel explained why she was doing what she did, and easy ways to replicate it. While shopping I saw a lady with a perfect ombré...(seriously if you googled "perfect ombré" her hair would probably come up). She referred me to Damara, so I set up an appointment! I've been a customer of Fluxx salon for a few years and it was always good. However, yesterday I had an appointment at 10am. It was a heavy rain and when I realized that I'm running 15 min late I called the salon to let them know and apologize. The receptionist was giving me a hard time and said the Diane might not have time for me, unless I'm there sooner. Which was impossible, unless I had a helicopter. When I showed up to salon 15 min late, Diane the colorist was not happy and "scolding" me for being late And telling me that she does not have time to do highlights and blow dry. I did apologize again. I told her that I'm having a hair cut with Rachel and don't need a blow dry from Diane. The answer we're from Diane: "I'm not sure that Rachel knows and have time for you". Rachel came over and start giving me another talk about being late and time. At that point I suggested that maybe I should go home and find somebody who have time for me. By that time I had a headache and could not hear that anymore. We settle on Diane doing a low lights for me and Rachel cutting and styling my hair. Somehow, the Color came out really dark, which I was not asking for. Rachel did cut and style my hair well. Needles to say I will not be coming or recommend salon Fluxx to anybody. This place is hands down the best place ever. The owners have either hired and or trained the best. Kevin Bacon once requested to see the owner when in town because his personal stylist was trained by her. I am not into spending a lot of money, so I started with one of the trainees. It took forever, but cost only $25! And I got an awesome haircut. Eventually the prices went up (and by up, I mean $40- basic entry level for a nice salon), but I found that I had been getting the same wonderful amazing haircut the whole time. I've referred so many people, been stopped too many times to remember... one stranger asked if she could take my picture to bring to her stylist... like that would help. I'll admit, one day, I cheated... I wanted to experiment with color and didn't want to spend the extra money. Boy did I regret that. They fixed me right up and honestly, they do such a good job, I find myself managing longer in between color and cuts. I've been going now for 5 years. Before, I had never been married to a salon. Everyone here is talented, genuine, and carry their own individual flair. Some will encourage you to take a bolder step, actually all if you ask them to. In all the salons I've been to, this one is the only one that has been 100% consistently excellent. And when you think of cost... it really isn't more expensive than your 'average' salon, yet the cut and color you receive is definitely beyond average. I have been holding off writing this review because I wanted to see how my hair grew out. I am a guy and often go to Super Cuts or Great Clips. My hair cuts usually take 15 to 20 min. I never really saw the benefit to going to a "real" salon. Rey spent a good deal of time cutting my hair. As soon as I sat down, he said, "It looks like they cut your hair too short the last time." I have no idea how he knew that, especially since I had not cut my hair in 2 months (I need a hair cut every 3 weeks). Rey did a great job. He was able to cut my hair so it actually didn't grow out so fast and unevenly. I even got a new hair style while I was at it. I would definitely go back. If I had one complaint it would be the price. I am a cheap ass, but I guess a good hair cut will cost you. He was nice enough to take a little bit off the price and give me some new fiber for my hair. Overall, if you want a excellent hair cut with people who know what they are doing. I've had my hair cut by owner Liza Espinoza and she's amazing, absolutely amazing. I have yet to find someone who can cut like her. She looks at your face shape (like most stylists would), but then she takes into account how your hair grows, it's patterns, condition, how it will look if you want it to grow out, and then come up with some edgy style. It's hard to believe, but if you check out the sites and her awards you'll see she's internationally recognized for her contemporary styles.
