Probably tried a new hair salon every three to six months, including bottom to top prices ones in every possible location, with 5-star reviews (that I still don't understand for most of them) only to be disappointed at the end of my color or hair cut appointment... Sometimes disappointed to tears. One day I was at a friend's party and met a woman with the most gorgeous hair color, a really cute cut and still very healthy hair. I went through the shameless risk of asking where she had gotten this done and she gave me Irma's phone number. I'm typing this review during the second color/highlight visit because I'm sure I found "the one" hair colorist and I love my hair now. Irma is vey talented and she does take the time to understand exactly what I want. Also her -and her assistant's- hospitality and warmth is unparalleled. Really, I am so glad I found her! But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

I found out about Finos Barbershop at the recent Taste of Wheaton event. I have a vacation coming…read moreup and figured I would give them a shot. After checking them out online and on Instagram I called and made an appointment with Mario. There is plenty of metered street parking in the area. Some in front of the building that the shop is in and there's also a metered lot to the right of the building. Finos is located on the second floor of the building. Theres a door leading to the stairs located next to Franks Burgers. Go up the stairs and turn left once you reach the top. The vibe in the shop is very laid back. There was music playing at a reasonable level and the whole shop is well lit. Mario is really cool and he offered me a complimentary beverage (soda or beer). I opted for a soda since I drove myself. Now on to the cut and overall experience. Mario took time consulting with me to figure out the best cut for me. I shared what I had in mind down to the guides I preferred and how close I wanted thebcut to be. Once he got started with the cut we had a really cool conversation about everything from sports to family to travel, etc. Throughout the entire conversation Mario was cutting and detailing to make sure everything was perfect. When he was done I was extremely happy! This is easily the best haircut I've had in years at a barbershop! The price was fair, only $60 for a haircut and beard trim. I actually had him do a fade on my beard too. It's a new look for me, but I like the end result. Mario earned a new client and I look forward to coming back in 2 weeks for my next cut.

He is autistic, and sometimes people don't understand the patience required to work with him. He is quiet and is able to sit still, but still the care shown towards him is amazing. The people are nice and the styles they provide are great too. They have books and activities to do as you're waiting, too! We have been taking him for a while now and we will continue to do so.

They made my hair red and tried to argue with me that it was the same color just after 3 washes is when I would see it. My birthday is in 2 days and they expect me to wash my hair 3 times before that?! These ladies are unprofessional and this is a back alley shop. They don't even have up licenses so I'm not even sure they are actually allowed to work on hair. After about 15 minutes of going back and forth with the stylist I told her dye my hair all black and just cover up this disaster they did. After I was done I then get hit with a $170 bill. I could have threw a fit but I knew the owner was just pissed off that I did not like my hair and told the stylist to overcharge. But never again will I go here or trust this place. What I love about her is the fact that she took her time checking my hair, how to achieve the color I want and the haircut I was aiming for. She did a hair test first before applying color all over my hair which all salons should really do first. Then she explained every process and how long will it take. She took her time doing my Color and Keratin treatment. After 4 hours... I so love the end result and will definitely be back.
