Very disappointed that Dorothy does not work here anymore. I went in and asked for a partial balayage and what a disaster was that...first the "balayage" was poorly done and looked horrible especially the back and then I was charged wayyyyy more than it says online (I know it depends on hair length and she had to put on a toner but it was a lot) especially since I didn't even get a blow dry or styled cut. I paid and left but HAD to return after really looking at my hair. Luckily she was able to make it look a little better , not 100% fixed but better. She was nice about it and didn't charge for fixing so there's that....I don't think I'm ever going back though. I honestly wanted a refund but am bad about asking for those types of things. I can't believe haircuts have gotten so expensive! We had to wait long enough that we walked over to Starbucks and got refreshed. When we got back we only had a few more moments to wait for my daughter to get called. Our stylist Nicole, asked what we wanted, and I said "Oh, about this much off the top (she wears her hair pixie short)." I went based on the suggestion of a friend. I typically stay away from these chain hair places, because I've heard more scary stories than good ones. I have been to a few of them, and this one was honestly great. It is very tiny, but wow, they rocked it, and maintained the cleanliness constantly. The vibe was great. It was $20 for my daughter to get her hair trimmed which is pricy for a chain salon, but it was worth it. Great experience. Ask for Martha, she was a 5 star stylist! read more

I just started going here after a recommendation from a Yelp friend. This is a small shop, and doesn't take appointments. We were greeted immediately when we walked in and our information put in the computer. Everyone was very friendly. In spite of the small size, there were four stylists working and we didn't have to wait very long. Everything was clean, and each stylist took a good amount of time to clean the area between clients. For the last 6 years, since we moved here, I've been going to another chain haircutter because of the low prices. Although they generally did a decent job, I always had to take a pic with me to show them what I wanted as no one spoke English as a primary language. I was so happy to find that everyone here does! I was able to explain exactly what I wanted, without benefit of photos and charades. Jeffrey was great. He was able to visualize what I wanted and did just that. He even took the time (at no extra charge) to show me how to blow it out and style it for myself. When I tried it this morning, I had no trouble at all! While this place is a few dollars higher than some of the others, it was well worth it. read more

Ok, ok... I know what you're thinking... "Marianna, you went to a HAIR CUTTERY??!! Oh mai gah! Isn't that like a barbers?" Yes, yelper friends I trusted them to do my hair. Now this not a whole in the wall, but is no high class salon either. But what can I say? I'm obviously no high maintenance chick. I was greeted upon arrival and was seated promptly even with no appointment (it was sort of a last minute "I must do something with this lion maze hair" thing". I got the only guy in the pack, I think his name was Jeff. He was awesome, friendly, sweet, made good conversation and professional. I kind of gave him permission to do anything to my hair as long as I could keep some length and he got to work. I wanted color and cut. I cannot complain about the service or the results. Im not too into the color, but again, I gave him my hair as a blank canvas. The cut was great. So all in all, I got a new head helmet, a pretty good looking one at that, for half the price of any other place. So friends, ditch the high class over priced salons and come your cut here!! This is the first time I legitimately cried after getting a hair cut. I knew I was making a mistake going here instead of a salon, but it was recommended to me and I needed a hair cut so I decided to take the chance. I asked for a TRIM and LONG LAYERS. The first cut took off 3 inches and I immediately knew I made a huge mistake. I have medium length curly hair that looks terrible with short layers. She cut really short layers and I'm devastated. I legitimately have never felt this ugly in my life. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Avoid like the plague!!! read more

I have been going to this Hair cuttery for 4 years now & called today for an appointment(spoke with Patty) she told me no appointment was necessary as they were not busy,come on in I was told. Once I arrived I was checked in at 11:40 & was told I was next. at 11:47 another client walked in & stated they had an appointment & was checked in. Shortly after Patty the lady that told me I did not need an appointment called upon the lady that came in after me, when I spoke up I was told she had an appointment & I did not!!! So I asked her name & of course (Patty) the one that told me I was next & that I did not need an appointment. My husband decided to take my son here for a last minute haircut before a trip out of town. My husband decided to get a cut at the same time. He realized his mistake when he looked over and saw the hairdresser's hands literally shaking while cutting my son's hair. My son had uneven hair (about an inch pf hair left above his ears randomly) a neck line that was about 1-2" higher than his normal and COMPLETELY uneven, and even worse they CUT A 4 YEAR OLD'S EAR and did not say anything about it, tried to hide it. My husband was just in shock and just left after paying (which he should not have). I will never let them touch his hair ever again, or anyone else I know. I had to pay for another fix at a reputable barber to fix his hair at 8pm that night. Even they were in shock at how horrible it was and felt terrible for him. The one that checked me in then went back onto the floor and continued the conversation she and another stylist we're having with a customer that was done about tattoos and long hair and bands. I sat and waited for about six minutes thinking maybe there was someone in the back whose turn it was to cut hair next. No one came forward and I got tired of waiting what was now seven minutes while two stylist were right in front of me. If the stylist in the back whose turn it was wasn't ready someone else should've stepped up. I can't even leave a star , what a horrible experience. I went in for a trim / clean up , I explained to the stylist( Patti) what wanted and what I did not want ( which was bangs) the stylist explained what she could do for me, thinking we were on the same page she proceeded to cut my hair , after she was finished what the result was was a haircut which looked like a style from the 80's and BANGS !!!she gave me layers that were so hacked and uneven, what part of no bangs did she not understand!!! it was the worst haircut I ever have gotten. I actually had to go to another stylist to make this horrible haircut presentable, now I have a short hair cut with bangs and uneven layers , does any of this sound attractive? Noooooooo !! the other negative part of my visit was as she was cutting my hair her fingers smelt like she just finished a cigarettes, there is so mush more I could write but I have spent to much of my time writing this review that will go unheard by anyone that could help. read more

4 stars because of their product choice not the experience or the stylist's skill set, that is a 5 star for sure. The prices here are unbeatable and amazing. I got a haircut and highlights, usually my hair is like $300 no joke, because it is so super long. The highlights here cost me half of that. The haircut done by Nicole was AMAZING!! She is their Master Stylist. She asked me exactly how much I wanted cut off and although it was shorter than I wanted I still loved it because the layers were just so perfect and beautiful, she took her time and it showed. My highlights I wasn't too happy with, the technique was done perfectly but I don't like the dye/products they use, but that's the Company's fault not the stylist and being a Hair Cuttery I can understand. They came out too yellow for my taste, I had to tone once I got home but like I said the technique was on point, no bleeding or uneven strands, very natural and sun-kissed, if only I could bring my own product and have her apply. Anyways I'm going there again this weekend to get my cut with Nicole. She is definitely worth your time and the little extra they charge because she is a Master Stylist.
