Just dealing with the people over the phone was somewhat off putting and a hassle, for me. Anyone that makes something so simple as cutting your hair ,difficult, Im not comfortable dealing with. I made two different appointments and showed up an hour early for the second since the first one I couldn't make and let them know. They didn't have enough staff to accommodate the hour early I had arrived. Waiting a week and a half for a haircut is just odd even coming from Miami where it's beyond busy and the poPulation is much more deNse. Have no other input other than my initial visit and even trying to get in a chair. Not the place for me but I wouldn't doubt they know what they're doing, hence why I looked them in the first place. read more

Best salon ever!!! I moved to Orlando and I still don't let anyone touch my hair. Paula is amazing at what she does. This is the second time I went from extremely long hair to very short hair and Paula did such an amazing job! Every time I show her a picture of what I want it to somewhat look like she makes it look like that but better. I am new to this area and was looking for a new salon, not only for hair but nails as well. Jumped on the web site and was really pleased that there were so many positive reviews and few negative. My experience was nothing short of unbelievable. I decided on a mani and pedi first, like a test drive. To make a long story short, the nail tech did not clean her tools between appointments. I did not see a license on display for her. When I looked around the salon, I did not see any licenses clearly displayed. The operative words are clearly displayed. The appearance and cleanliness of the salon was below basic par. I was more than disappointed, I was shocked. I should have walked out after the mani but wanted to be fair and give the salon a chance. Mistake, left toe has a mild infection and I feel I overpaid for the service provided. Should have called the health department but decided to document my experience instead. Needless to say I did not have my hair done and would never recommend this establishment. read more

My normal hairdresser stopped working! You know how that is ... so I used Yelp and other places and most everyone loved this place and a lot of good reviews with a girl named Paula so I called and made an appointment.. I have to say what a nice lady but furthermore a great colorist and hair stylist! I was so happy with her that I made a future appointment with Paula agsi! Also the receptionist was so nice.. she gave me a cup of coffee which hit the spot! What a very nice lady.. the shampooist was very good also.. I did not get her name but she washed and conditioned my hair very well... I was just relaxing... the sinks they have were good and comfortable.. they moved right up to your neck so you did not have to lean back so far like most! What a great idea for a sink.. The same individual has been cutting my hair for 15+ years and I dread having to find someone in a new area when I cannot make it back to him. Since I'm spending some extended time in the SoFL area - I had the opportunity to visit a few salons and barber shops who did the job. In search of something more - I came across Salon Sophisto - a Bumble and Bumble salon. While skeptical at first - my appointment with Nydia was awesome! She took the time to listen, offer suggestions - but most of all - she knew what I was asking without me having to go into excruciating detail. During the cut - we made adjustments along the way and I could not be happier with the results. Aside from products - Bumble also offers significant training and it shows with this team. Such a hidden gem in an area where 'adequate' is the norm. read more

I usually don't like posting reviews, specially bad ones, but this time I have to, the only reason I'm giving it one star is because I can't give it negative stars, I went in excited because I wanted a change for back to school, I asked for a blonde balayage, and ended up with this, the color is orange, and yes I understand that my hair is dark and there was no way she could get me up so many levels in one session, but at least try for it not to look bright orange, but that's not the worse part, I can live with the color, but my natural hair color and the bleached part are not blended at all, it's literally a straight line from dark brown to blonde orange, the front of my hair is not absolutely horrifying, but the back is terrible to the point I'm embarrassed to go out like this, I spent 135$, money doesn't grow on trees, I had to save for months in order to get my hair done and now that I finally did it all I want is my old hair back, but I don't have the money to do it so I'm stuck like this, it looks like I did it myself at home and messed up completely, NEVER going to this salon again. read more

Had a haircut from Natasha (I believe was her nameoops). Just a simple trim. I told her how my last haircut had gone bad and I had my hair butchered, she was really nice and made sure to ask exactly how much to cut and if what she was doing was ok and exactly what I wanted. I'm really happy with the cut, and I have gotten numerous compliments on my hair, as well as when I went on vacation recently and I had a blow out at a really nice salon, the hairdresser complimented me on my haircut :) Also got a free sample for checking in on Yelp which was my choice of sample sized Bumble & Bumble product which I still haven't run out of. Super cool! Also really like the prep mist I bought there on a recommendation of my hairstylist for my hair type. Will return. Glad to have found a place near my house instead of having to drive to Boca or East Fort Lauderdale. read more

Natasha is the blonde whisperer. If you are blonde, looking to go blonde, or just want to go lighter she is a genius. Each time I see her I give her little direction and let her do her thing. I'm pretty bad when it comes to knowing what I want to do with my hair but she always delivers. She offers custom colors and cuts based on what she thinks will work best with you. She is a true stylist and you can't go wrong. Any thing you can throw at her, she can exceed your expectations, the girl is well trained! Other than that the Salon itself is pretty average. With the exception of Natasha who is always warm and welcoming, the other staff and self involved and dismissive. I can't say I even know anyone else's name. Overall Natasha is the real highlight to the salon and the entire reason I go there. read more

My hair somehow feels softer and healthier than before I bleached it and the color is more vibrant than I could have ever hoped. I am always afraid to go out and find a new stylist after getting comfortable with somebody (I'm sure I'm not the only one, lol). I was very happy with my experience at Salon Sophisto. Paula did a great job with my hair. I have very thick (and sometimes unruly) hair. She thinned it out and made it look amazing! Her techniques reminded me of my favorite hair dresser I had up north. Excellent hair dresser. The salon is also very neat and stylish. I really like the sinks they have because you sit more upright in them and is far more comfortable than traditional sinks. I went there last week to make a appointment and I could not get a appointment till the following week (3/8/18) I made the appointment for 5:30 pm after work. I called them to verify the appointment and was told that it was at 6:30 and If I wanted to come at that time. I told them that it was at 5:30 and that I was leaving work and I was told that it might be a few minutes that I would have to wait and I said OK. Of Course, when I got there the lady at the desk said they could't do me unit 6:30 and it seemed like she was going to look at other time or day? and I said Thank you!!! and left; leaving the dust behind. That's it for me! too may hair salons around. I did just make a appointment for tomorrow at 5:30 right after work. Yeah!!!!!!! I don't have to wait a week and this salon is much bigger and more stylist and they do facials, waxing, etc. That just not the way to keep a new possible client. I had a 1:45 app this very day Sunday 8 26 2018. I called the salon at 1: 44 to let the stylist Jissette I was in the next door plaza in error that I will be there in 30 seconds. I got no answer the phone rang and rang, so I called back and no answer period. When I walked up to the door she was on her cell phone talking with a friend and the door to the salon was locked. she unlocked the door and told me she was cancelling me for I was late and would interfere with her next client. I was like what client the salon was empty and how would my being late 7 minutes interfere with her next client when I was there for a color cut blow flat iron. Her next appt. should have been around 3pm or later. She literally couldn't care less that she was going to lose &150.00 or more plus a $ 20.00 tip. This made me sick about it. I couldn't believe a stylist would want to lose money and the salon was empty to boot. As I was walking out I said by the way thank you for this. Maybe she can't do color and so she used an excuse to cancel me for she wanted to hang with friends and get high. read more

I hadn't had my hair done in a while so the Yelp deal came up and I thought the salon sounded pretty good. My stylist was Paula. I asked for very light, almost platinum highlights & dark ash lowlights. I showed her a picture of the colors so we wouldn't have any discrepancy. I was very emphatic about the level of highlights & did not want any hint of brassiness. I sat in a chair without heat as my hair processed and then went under the dryer for only a few minutes. After many times getting highlights, I knew this wasn't going to come out good because of the sheer lack of time under the dryer. Not only were my highlights not lifted to the level I wanted, but the very thing I was adamant about resulted as well-brassiness. I don't know what level & color she used for the low lights but they were definitely not reminiscent of an ash color. I expressed the brassiness to her and she said I could come back for a toner-No thanks; I'll do the toner myself. On a positive note, she did a nice blowout, and she was very personable. However, I don't go to the hair salon to spend that kind of money($140 before the yelp deal) for my hair to look brassy and like it wasn't even was done. For me, this salon fell flat. read more

Paula is excellent cutting my hair using razors because my hair is frizzy, thick and full of volume and others hairstylist use to cut my hair with scissors and my hair ends baddly without soft layers. A great experience at this hidden jewel in Sunrise. I got a color refresh and blow out, I used the Yelp deal that Sophisto is offering right now and I checked in while I was there (on Facebook thru Yelp) and got a great premium sized sample at check out. The stylist was proficient and pleasant, the music played is just the right volume and top 40 stuff. The decor and atmosphere is "casual elegance" very comfy and pretty. The products are gentle - my scalp is usually burning when I leave after a color refresh, but not this time- AWESOME! ;-) I arrived on time and they began my consult within 30 seconds, very true to appointment time. I came because of the reviews but I'll be back because of the service. From the moment I walked in, i was welcomed, all staff greeted me. The salon is updated and clean. Gizette (sry for misspelling) was amazing. Very friendly, chatty but not too chatty and she gave me the best haircut cut I've had in years. She did a dry cut with a razor and used scissors for layers and texture. My hair looks and feels amazing. She's been with the company for 10 years and at this location for 5. It's a family run business. They also do nails in another section of the salon, that section looked very busy as well. I may get a mani next time I see Gizette. read more

I don't write bad reviews about a company but wow. I would hope no other woman pays money to a place like this.....Terrible phone service...called in this morning to get an idea of pricing. The woman who answered did not seem to want to assist or was not in the mood to welcome a new customer. As a business owner who is constantly on the phone, I would not answer clients this way. And their website pricing is outdated....Botox starting at $150 by phone...website says $100. This was the only questions I got before the attitude on the other end became so off-putting... I did not even get the chance to give details about myself or my hair length...nothing. Just based off my call, I would not pay hard-earned money to a salon like this. Maybe they have great workers there or this was a one-off deal, but this was a terrible first impression. Take your business elsewhere or buy drug-store color. Better off! read more
