I came in for a partial highlight, I literally just wanted a root touch up but the stylist saw my hair and said I needed to fix the bottom part of my hair too and before I knew it she was highlighting my whole head. She showed me an inspo picture where the girl was a platinum blonde and asked me if I liked it and I said yes. She took about 5 hours to put the foils in my hair. I was at the salon for a total of almost 6-7 hours. I've never ever taken that long to do my hair. After taking out the foils she put toner in my hair that she said was "icy" but I found out that just meant I had dark, purple toned hair. I literally walked out the salon BRUNETTE. And also, I was wearing a white tank top when I came in and after I left my mom pointed out that the back of my white tank top was dyed with purple/dark dye. It completely ruined my shirt and I had to throw it away. I've been blonde for 3 years so it was just a huge disappointment walking out the salon with dark hair because it was nothing like what I wanted or what the inspo picture was. She said the toner should fade but it's been over a month and my hair is still DARK. I also couldn't even see how my hair looked until the very end and it was too late to say anything, she was doing my hair for so long the salon was literally closing, it was 9pm. When i was checking out, the price was double what I thought it would be, I knew it would be a lil more because she did a full instead of a partial but I didn't expect to get charged for two toners. On top of that she gave me a haircut that I insisted I didn't want, I think she asked me like 5 times and I said no every time and in the end she was like I'll give you a free cut and cut off inches of my hair that I hate. I didn't complain at the salon because the stylist was really sweet but this was truly the worst hair salon experience i've ever had. I paid almost 400$ for hair that I absolutely hate. read more

The vibe is great. Unfortunately I was very unhappy with my cut. I asked for long layers and the person gave me layers up to my ears. I asked the person multiple times if they wanted to look at my reference picture to which they stated no they got it. They wanted to frame my face with curtain bangs and I didn't even get that. One side is actually longer than the other I asked for over my shoulders and I got just above my collar bones. Mind you my hair was halfway done my back already, so that's more than the x amount of inches they told me. It's just so sad because I told the person that I was hesitant on layers because I've had bad experiences on them with other people & this just proved my case. I hope my hair recovers. read more

Your company follows some inexcusable practices.  For the second time in a row, a confirmed appointment has been canceled.  This time, I had an event on 3/31 and made an appointment with Cherese at the Red Mill location in Virginia Beach.  A week after I'd received the confirmation (and taken the day off from my job!), Cherese called and the appointment was canceled.  This is the second time in a row my appointment was canceled. Why do you take appointments if you don't intend on keeping them? So now, I've canceled you.  I've removed your app, unsubscribed from emails, and will never use Hair Cuttery again. read more

Had a younger and less experienced hair stylist but she was very enthusiastic to learn and to provide customer satisfaction. The more experienced stylists were happy to give any guidance needed and she did an excellent job on a pixie. Super pleased with the cut! read more

After the shampoo, she noticed that there were some parts that need to be re-cut so she went back and did it and noted my file. She also made sure that my ears and eyebrows were clean. I had a haircut here recently. My hair has never looked so bad in my entire life. I did not get anything I asked for, and even moreso, I had clippers used on me when I specifically asked for no clippers. I usually go to expensive upscale salons and spend hundreds of dollars, but decided to try this location because I needed a quick fix and new to the area. Naomi was very knowledgeable and worked wonders with my hair! She honestly has to be some sort of chem genius because my hair was a mess. I brought her over processed bleached hair with black box color over it and she was able to fix my overall base to a pretty chocolate brown with hazelnut highlights. The last 4 times or so that I've had my cut/colored I've gone to this location. Mainly because they always do a fantastic job. Recently I went in on a Saturday afternoon for a trim along with my boyfriend. After checking us in, mind you the place was already full of clientele (but there are sill empty stations), several people walked-in behind us. In all, there are 9 people (including my boyfriend and I) waiting for haircuts. 10 minutes or so pass by and I notice that there are 6 employees just hanging out at the front desk. I ask how long the wait will be... I'm told the computers are down and that they cannot help anyone right away. Really? The stupidity of some folks still amazes me. We left, obviously. New to the area and was in desperate need of a cut. Saw this place and walked right in. They got me in right way and went over what I wanted and Morgan asked a few questions to clarify that she knew exactly what I wanted. She did a great job on my hair! I do feel like my shampoo wasn't the best it could have been which is why I only have 4 stars, I just felt like it wasn't shampooed very thoroughly but that could have just been me. Me and my family are new to Virginia. I came into this salon alone and met Emily. She was so kind and patient and did a great job on my hair. I even brought both of my tween girls in about a week later. She was patient with them and did a great job on their hair too. Both of my girls and I are pleased with Emily. I was here on vacation for the beach. I spent the whole day in the ocean and my hair (which down to my butt) was one huge dread. I called and make an apt for 30 minutes later and went straight there. Pete helped me out. He got this huge know out without hurting me one bit. Then I decided to just cut it all off. I think he probably cut at least a foot off. He gave me the best cut I have ever gotten. It naturally falls framing my face and is super bouncy. He even asked me questions about my daily life and hair routine to formulate the best cut for me. Not to mention the price was amazing. Everyone in this environment is friendly as I was talking to one of the other stylists as well. I use to come here when Somer and missy worked here ( years ago) I haven't been since Somer moved to CA ( the second time ) I took my 10 year old there yesterday to get his past the shoulders long blonde hair cut and Ray did a fantastic job! If you're a young adult don't get the stylist with short black hair. She treated me as if I was insignificant and was only there to prevent her from receiving other clients. It was clear she didn't respect me and I assume it's because she's sees herself as inferior to 18 year olds. read more

I went here on a whim today. I usually go to another salon in the area nearby, but I am still newer to the area so I decided to switch it up today and try a different salon. I walked in and was immediately acknowledged by smiling faces. The stylists are super friendly, and I was immediately taken. Jaimie-Lynn cut my hair today and she was awesome. My hair is currently dry and needs some healing but I have a hard time parting with my long hair, I just can't ever chop it off. She worked well with what I had asked...she cut off the minimum to help it look better (and keep me happy about not losing much length), cleaned up my layers, and did amazing with angling the front and blending my side bang into my hair. I have a piece of bangs that just won't sit on the side they always sit and she was able to blend them into my hair as well so they don't look like random short pieces anymore. She recommended products to moisturize my hair and help give it life. And what I really enjoyed is she actually took the time to show me each product and explain what it was and showed me how much she was using in the palm of her hand. She didn't make me feel forced to buy anything, but she did assist me when I asked what I should buy. This salon just felt like such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere of stylists who actually care about you and your hair. This is what I needed. Highly recommend! read more
