What she did is not the same as the picture I showed and what they said they could do. My daughter is devastated and now walking around like this for holidays and I'm pretty disturbed we were charged $150 for a few highlights, this disaster in the back, and a trim that took 10 minutes of actual hair cutting. I haven't been to an actual salon for at least 15 years....this was a huge step for me as I like my hair a certain length. When I came in, my hair was just above my butt. I asked the girl to cut my hair to my shoulders, a big cut for hair that long. My back was kept to the mirror for the whole cut so I could have the "big reveal" when she was done. I forewarned her about my curly hair and I had exceedingly high hopes for the cut to make my curls more bouncy. When I was turned to the mirror, I was in quite a bit of a shock....my hair was a bob!!!! Well above my shoulders and basically to my ears!!! I replied with the usual "I love it" because I was just seriously shocked! I didn't want my hair that short, I specified my shoulders, not to my ears!!!! I repeatedly said shoulder length and my stylist got a little over zealous with the cut! The staff and patrons were very nice and I'm honestly not sure if she intentionally cut it way way WAY too short, or if it was an accident. I was just hurt that she didn't listen to me and now I am stuck with a too short haircut that I can't even put into a ponytail. I didn't think the place was bad per se, it was clean and they were nice people......but my experience was a huge let down, I am very disheartened and this is probably my last salon visit for at least another 15 years! I am stuck with this until it grows out, but I am so completely unhappy by this new do. I am placing two stars for the haircut and my stylist not listening to me and just doing what she wanted. The salon itself seemed nice and the other patrons seemed happy, I just think the stylists need to listen to their clients!

The stylist informed us she would need her hair bleached for the color to take. After sitting in the chair for approx. 4 hours her hair was several shades of orange, gold and tan. He then gave her the cut which he spent approx. 10 mins on. She has long pieces in several areas and it's choppy. He then put the color on and waited 25 mins. The color was not even close to what she wanted. It was intended to be a dark green, I have never seen such a shade of turquoise. We were told it would last 2 to 4 weeks. After one wash using Redken Extending Shampoo her hair was several shades of green and blue. All this for $300. I realize this is not an easy procedure, I was more upset by the lack of detail on the cut.

I'm not sure if the razor dulled halfway through or it was technique but it left my hair looking much frizzier than normal and the ends looking damaged. Random strands left long further exaggerated this friz. I didn't want my hair thinned as much as she had but if she was going to take this much off I don't understand why she did all of it with a razor instead of using scissors at first. Upset because it took me 5 years to grow it out from this length to the length I had going in and I can't fix it for a bit since it's been cut so short. When she trimmed my bangs she also gave me a different shape than what I had coming in and the pictures shown to her. I realize now she gives almost everyone these bangs but I feel they are really unflattering on me and wish she would've asked about changing their shape from what we discussed, especially since after she used to product to try to shape them into the shape they were before anyways. once again, I don't know if I caught her on a bad day but we never discussed what products I use or how I style my hair before the cut which was unusual in retrospect but probably might have helped. It wasn't what we agreed but when I got home within 15 minutes I saw the back of my head and reached out to her about the layering/random strands left out in odd places and she repeatedly told me that it must have just been my hair texture or that I wasn't used to a layered cut and was used to blunt cuts (which I have not had since I was 10) or that my hair had a "bad reaction" to her razor . was $120. can't recommend.

Additionally, the other men and women I've seen come and go have looked pretty sharp. The cuts themselves have grown out well, allowing me to have time between cuts. I think this is the true test of a hair stylist, how your hair still looks a a month later. I've also had a shampoo by Carmen. Eliz was running late so she pitched in. For the shampoo, she dig into her scalp with her nails (like, amazingly, like a good back scratch) and with the conditioner she massaged my neck and scalp. I don't remember if his happened when Eliz shampooed me the last time, but OMG. Also, since she noticed my hair was dry (I did too, that's why I was here for a cut) and there was time, she threw in a hot conditioning treatment and stuck me under the dryer to open my cuticles. Both these women are chatty and friendly and a joy to be around The salon itself is cute but, perhaps, not as chic as some of the competitors. Then again, the pricing isn't painful either like the competitors and you sill walk out with a great cut. There is a place fora I pedis but I haven't had one here. There is only one chair and I'm once of those women that makes pedicures a social event, but if you're not, I recommend giving them a go. I've checked out a lot of places in Marlborough for cuts and I really like this place best.
