It was easy to book a hairdresser online through their website. I booked a haircut & style appt w/Asja Receptionist was very warm and friendly Asja was very busy. She was a few minutes late into my appt, which was fine, since I wasn't in a hurry at that time. Asja is very friendly and personable. At one point before she started cutting my hair, she asked me a question and I didn't understand what she said (she speaks w/a very strong accent). She picked up a razor and asked if it was okay if she used it to cut my hair. I said sure, why not? As I was waiting to pay, I just so happened to confirmed the price of my haircut - and that's when I found out that w/her utilizing a razor, they charge an additional $10! I told the receptionist that I had no idea that it cost more! She said, "oh, well, then we'll just charge you $5." I really don't understand why they would charge more for this and can't justify the extra cost since all she did was use a different tool and honestly, it seemed much easier for her to use rather than a pair of scissors (which she did use, as well). I was completely put off by this. If you're going to offer a certain type of service but not tell the customer that's an additional fee, that's just shady. It's a shame, because while I think she did a good job cutting my hair, I don't care for people not being completely transparent with me. read more

I never write a bad reviews so it took me a year to finally say this: the WORST haircut i ever had in my life to the point that my friends were asking me what happened to my hair. It couldn't be fixed, because the hairstylist was " trying" to fix it and kept cutting it shorter and shorter to the point of unfixable. I think most of the hairdressers are very good but the receptionist Danielle is the best. She is so pleasant and if you have not been there before, she will guide you to the right fit with the hairdresser that fits your needs or wants. I think the receptionist is very critical to a salon. You can tell how the owner cares about their clients when they hire a receptionist that makes you feel welcomed and appreciates your business. She is quite knowledgeable and is never curt or rude. Emily is thee best! she knows how to cut so professionally she is always on point with the she gives me usually when you go get a haircut or coloring at many of the salons I went to they would change up even the coloring would be changed up. I was never satisfied, but Emily cuts according to your features and her coloring, she is on point with the complexion of your face and the coloring of your eyes. She is magnificent. I could not wait to come back from my two months stay in South Carolina to get my treatment at Hair Dimension in Bronxville! I waited to have my pedicure and eyebrows done as I trust no one to do the great job they do here and again I was not disappointed. Love the massage with the hot stones during my pedicure. Then today I had my long awaited hair cut with Michele who is a perfectionist and a true artist!! I am going on 80 yrs old this year and after he is finished with me I walk out of the salon feeling no more than 60 years old. FINALLY! with the pandemic I hadn't gotten my haircut in close to two years and had A LOT of reservations about who and where I should go. I had a giftcard someone gave me to try them (again, almost 2 years ago) and decided to finally use it. I have long hair that only got longer and more out of control, dead weight so I knew I needed a cut. When I called to make an available appointment she asked me when I would like to come in and what I was looking to have done, based on that she suggested JANET. When I got there I told the receptionist how I wanted to add on a hair mask as well. I sat and she told Janet I was there, wanted to add the treatment, and send me to get washed... Janet told her to wait that she wanted to meet me and see what was going on, if I did actually need it... Mind you she was still working with a young lady but took time to walk over and introduce herself and ask me what I was looking to have done, checked my hair and scalp and THEN suggested a hair mask/oil treatment. She even walked me over to the girl who was going to wash my hair to make sure everything was good for me. The owner came over as well, introduced himself, and was kind. He suggested a length that he thought I should cut at bare minimum to restore some health to it and after talking with JANET we even went a little shorter! The washer took her time, gave me a nice scalp massage, (could have went harder but that's my fault for not saying anything), and did her thing even with my super long hair. When I was done I went back to wait for her to wrap up with the young lady and I couldn't help at staring because the girl was grinning from ear to ear. She was even taking time to show her and her mom, what she was doing so the girl could do it for herself; which I found to be so kind and genuine that my nerves just disappeared... When I got into Janet's chair, we chatted about how I wear my hair, confirmed expectations, and got started. She was checking in with me for length for the first few cuts, which I appreciated because Ive had people who just flat out do what they want and you have to sit there getting more and more upset... not today! I put my head down, we chatted, and when I picked up my head I felt like a new person, and she wasnt done. She angled the front for me and left it at a the length I wanted to shape my face, in addition to the layers throughout. She blew it out for me and again, I felt like a whole new person and couldn't stop smiling. She asked if I wanted a little more off in the front and once she saw I was a little hesitant, she told me to think about it and if i want to come back at any time to trim off in the front she'll take me at no additional charge. She told me even if I want it two weeks from now, she'll remember and to stop back in..... I thanked her, paid and left. By the time I got to my car I had two compliments, looked at my hair and my smile, facetimed my sister and decided 'I trust her'. So I ran back in! She had already started her next client, but it really wasnt a problem at all! She did the things she had to do for her next client, then made a couple of quick cuts and again, I'm so glad I did. My hair feels and finally looks so much healthier, and my over confidence has been boosted. I'm so glad I finally used this giftcard because I now have a stylist I can trust and return to! read more

I booked an appointment on the Hair Dimensions website for a hair cut and blow dry for $55. I was given Donna who did a great job on my hair but charged me $60 instead of $55. She told me the reason was because she has 20 years experience so she charges extra. I used to use Jolanda who was very experienced and was there since at least 2002 and would only charge me $55. Unfortunately Jolanda is no longer there so I had to use somebody different. My advice to anyone who uses Hair Dimensions is to verbally call them and find out what the person charges so there will be no surprises or hidden charges. I would of given 5 stars instead of 4 if it was not for this slight increase in price which I was not expecting. read more

I wish I was leaving this review after visiting the salon but I'm grateful to save myself the trip. I called this location to set up an appointment for me and my mother as a birthday gift to her. The receptionist Dee was very rude and nasty to me. She had an obvious attitude when I asked about pricing and scheduling times. I was confused on how long balayage would take since my mother and I have 2 very different textures. Anyways I guess I was bothering Dee with my questions because she was very short and sarcastic with me. As the first point of contact you represent the salon and if this is who they choose to "welcome" guests then it's indicative of how I'd be treated there. She did an amazing job and took her time to sit with me and go over color swatches. She's an extremely talented woman and knows exactly what colors to put in your hair to match your skin completion and make it pop! The overall experience was amazing! I have been coming to the salon for a couple of years now. Pat does an EXCELLENT job with my hair is very professional and I recently started coming for facials with Debbie who is also excellent! Debbie has been great educating me about my skin type and the best routine. If i had to rate based on these two professionals the review would be 5 stars, however as another client mentioned, the vibe here is so chatty and gossipy and there are always people waiting while some stylists are just gossiping loudly and not really busy... Very unprofessional considering you pay for an above average experience. So one star off for that. read more

That is a very rare trait: with other haircutters, I cannot tell you how many times over the years I have ended up with some variation of a freaking mullet when I asked for a simple one-length cut. I went into hair dimensions bc they had a "best of Yonkers" banner and they were conveniently located down the street from my house. I asked for a CLEAR glaze and left with ORANGE hair. Thank you ,DONNA I have never died my hair and made it VERY clear to her that I did not want any color, just shine . The owner said he would fix my hair BUT how could I trust a salon that couldn't even get a CLEAR glaze right ?? I've been getting my hair cut here for 6 years now. I used to live down the street, which is why I started coming here. After I moved, I STILL came here. After my past 2 experiences though, I'll never come to Hair Dimension again. Last time I got my hair cut, I had the misfortune of getting a flat tire on my way. I was 15 minutes late. This translated into me having to wait an hour to get my hair cut because they had fit someone in ahead of me since I was late. Fine, whatever, it was annoying but I understand that. This time around, I got there precisely at my appointment time. I was told that my stylist was still working on someone and would be done soon. So I waited...for 40 minutes. When I was finally told to go get shampooed, the woman doing that put my head in the sink and proceeded to text behind me for a bit while I just sat there. After that, I sat with my wet hair waiting for my stylist for another 10 minutes. She eventually was "ready" for me, cut half my head, then walked over to chat with the receptionist and text on her phone for awhile, leaving me sitting there. Almost 2 hours after I'd gotten there, my hair was finally done (A TRIM AND BLOW DRY) and it ended up costing $15 more than I've ever paid there. Needless to say, I did not tip an I won't be returning. I hope this place classes up because they're going to continue losing customers. Helena is the best for long, curly/wavy hair. She listens to what you want and does what you want. She also does great blow outs..We all know that you can tell how good a curly hair cut is when its left in its natural state and Even when i wore my hair curly it looked great... Yolanda is the best! She listens to what you want and supplements that with her extensive knowledge of how to achieve those results. (For example, if you say you want layers, she may tell you that actually layers wouldn't be the best for your hair but here's how to get a similar look.) I have thin hair that dries straight so my challenge is always to find a hair dresser that can help me combat my hair's lifelessness. I went in to get a long bob but was worried because I had seen some photos of people with my similar hair type and the style didn't look that great. Yolanda cut my hair perfectly and as it grew out I never had an awkward stage, which is truly commendable. It always dried well and looked even better if I let it dry in a loose bun. I have gone to Yolanda three times and every time I have been extremely happy with the results. She truly takes the time to make sure every cut is done well. I met Emily, whose only been with the salon for a year, but she was fantastic! I had no clue what to do, but we came up with a good cut and got started. I typically don't chat with people too often, but Emily was great and we talked the whole time, just an awesome experience. I've been coming here for years, Yolanda is my stylist. She is AWESOME at what she does, anything from a simple cut/blow dry to highlights to up-dos. She really knows how to work with my curly, frizzy nasty hair and what cuts/styles would look good on me. It took me a long time to find someone and she is definitely the best! Not sure why all the bad reviews but everyone here is really friendly, I've never had a bad experience.
