Seriously THE BEST hair salon in all of Westchester!!! The were accommodating and the girl who did my hair was the best hair stylist I've ever had in my life!! No sarcasm- she understood exactly what I wanted and I got a phenomenal hair cut within 45 minutes because I had to pick up my daughter from school.. I have never been happier. The owner is a total sweetheart he's hands on answering the phones and you would never guess he was the owner. The place has a modern feel incredibly relaxing- I highly recommend this salon. Just a quick update to note that Lindsey left Industry 80. I got a call the day prior to my second appointment letting me know, and was impressed by the way that the notification was handled. I've had a salon call me to let me know my stylist left and be incredibly snarky/nasty toward that stylist; on the contrary, Industry 80 let me know the situation and asked if I'd prefer to wait for Lindsey to contact me to set up something with her at her new spot or if I'd like to see a different stylist. No pressure at all, and no attitude about Lindsey leaving. Given that I'd only seen Lindsey once, and I came here because the location is super-convenient to my apartment, I decide to give another stylist a try. They booked me with Teak for the same time I'd been scheduled with Lindsey, and Teak did a fabulous job on my short pixie cut. She was just as friendly as Lindsey, and totally respected my "wash-and-wear" hair philosophy. The cut has grown out well, and I'll be making another appointment soon! read more

I used a groupon (conditioning treatment, cut, and style) today with no problem. I was tended to immediately... and the place is very stylish and more importantly well kept. Parking is a bit of an issue even with the lot and the metered parking and I am sure the snow doesn't help things. That being said, I parked in the "Dance school's" spot - and they ended up not being happy about it during my cut. Industry 80's owner offered to move my car and by then one of their parking spots had opened up. I thought it was pretty awesome that they were willing to move my car for me, and while I was embarrassed they were beyond gracious about it... which is why this isn't 4 stars. :) The conditioning treatment is pretty fabulous. My hair is pretty healthy to begin with, but still it left my hair super soft. Alyssa, my stylist, says she likes to get it on her bleached blond hair - and her hair looked very healthy. I probably wont get it again though (I have super short hair) unless I treat myself to a splurge as it came with a fantastic scalp massage from an assistant. Alyssa cut my hair - and I will be back for her. I showed her some pics of things I had in the past that I liked, and let her have the reigns. I ended up with a short asymmetrical cut that is tight in the back - and similar to something I have had before. I really like it. I am not 100% sure about the longer side as it covers my ear. I asked before I left if I didn't like it 100% in the next couple of days if I could come back and have her adjust that side... she said yes - that my satisfaction was most important. That gave me the confidence to be willing to try something a little different, which is what I was hoping for. The true test will be after I wash my hair and the conditioning treatment is less to see what that side does. :) I'm hoping that it isn't too fluffy, but I know I can go in for a quick fix if it is. I have to say - I am very happy I took a risk and got the groupon. read more

This place is absolutely amazing I have been looking for a really good salon and a good hairstylist for such a long time and I can honestly say that I finally found one. The customer service was great and my Balayage was even better. Thank you Kristen! I had to wait about 20 extra minutes from the time that my appointment was scheduled because my hairstylist was busy with the previous client. To make up for it they gave me a free deep conditioning treatment which was incredibly helpful for my newly dyed hair. I will definitely be returning soon this is my new regular salon. read more

I bought a Groupon because I saw how awesome the reviews were on this place. However, my experience went really, really, really, bad. I couldn't find this place which is always a bad sign. When I got there I stood there for a little when eventually someone came up and finally got me to a seat. I gave it 2 stars because people were nice. I got offered a drink and then as I sat for my consultation with Alyssa B. I sat down and I showed her a picture of what I wanted, which is a hairstyle I have had MILLIONS of times. She looked at it and she said, "Ok, thanks". This should have been a huge warning sign, however I needed a cut because I was going to be in a wedding. Anyways, I had hair up to my butt and I wasn't trying to get my hair cut too short, however my hair got chopped off. I asked for a long layered hair style with side bangs. I got no layers just a straight cut with bangs, which by the way were also not cut correctly. There are long pieces just chilling in the front of my face. I get this was a Groupon but my thought is that you put out the best you can so then people come back. Nope! I'm not really sure, but as a hair salon they should know how to do a consultation and they should know how to cut hair and if they can't they should let the client know before they start chopping off pieces of hair. I would suggest if you need a place to get your hair cut you should go to Akane. They are really awesome and I wish they had an opening for me to come in to get my hair cut because this was the worst haircut I've had in a long time. read more

Calling on a Thursday to grab a Saturday appointment was very easy, and the gentleman handling the call was quick and friendly (he let me know as a first time customer I would have a discounted cut, good news right away). Parking lot is pretty large and unmetered on the weekend but also located right across from MNR Tuckahoe station so a quick walk if you want to avoid driving. The salon is nice, modern and industrial, as states the name. Comfortable sitting area, wish they had wifi. Check in was fast and friendly, and there is both an ATM and change machine right inside for cash and/or change for the meters if needed. There is a good selection of Redken products on display, didn't see any tools for sale. I showed up about 20 mins early for my appt and was taken back right on time. My stylist, Alyssa explained she was finishing with another client and offered me a conditioning treatment while I waited, which I accepted. Coffee (multiple kinds) was also offered and delivered. The conditioning treatment with scalp massage was relaxing and didn't cost more than 20$ I think. The girl delivering that part of the service was friendly and sweet. Now for the most important part; the cut. I was going from hair probably 6-8 inches past my shoulders to a long angled bob ending with the longest pieces about to my collar bone. So a big cut for hair that had been growing long for over five years. A lot of anxiety about this move with a brand new stylist. I explained everything to Alyssa and had a picture to show her of my ideal. She met and exceeded my expectations. I couldn't have asked for a better cut and that was a LOT to ask given the amount I was having cut off (plus horrible experiences with cuts in the past)! Alyssa was fast but thorough. She seemed totally confident the whole way. She had a great balance of concentration plus engagement and really did a perfect job. I've gotten a lot of compliments since my cut and have even been asked for a referral to the salon by a like minded colleague seeking a similar change; a referral I'm very happy to provide. I've been meaning to write this for awhile since I was there for the first time over a month ago. I'm new to the area and thought I was going to have to go though several bad hair cuts before finding my "go to". Good news is I found my salon and hair stylist on my first try. Madison cut my hair and she did a wonderful consultations. I didn't really know what I wanted but I knew what I didn't want. She asked me questions about my lifestyle and how much time I'm willing to put into styling in everyday. Then I watched her cut and I had to breath though it b/c she used some techniques I've never seen before. With the end result I couldn't be happier even with the time that has past it's growing in nicely. She also took the time to show me how to style my hair on my own and which products I should be using. I did buy 3 product which I now use over anything else I used before. They're Renken products and I never thought I'd be so impressed with a brand of products. I think the most expensive one was $22 so I really didn't break the bank. I got a Groupon for this place because my hair was in serious need of a deep conditioning and a trim. Of course before buying anything I checked the reviews on Yelp, but it all looked good. I called and got an appointment for the next day which was great! Once you're there everyone is very polite and friendly. The atmosphere is a bit trendy for my personal taste but as long as the haircut and the people are good then I don't care. But that explains the name a bit (industrial). While letting my hair sit in the conditioning stuff I saw a girl getting her hair colored this great reddish aubgerine tint and I had a moment of hair envy. I impulsively pointed at her and told my stylist Alyssa I wanted that. She had an appointment after me but managed to work us both in so I didn't have to come back. So lovely. Everything looked fantastic!! The cut, the color, I loved it all! So 6 weeks later I booked again to update the color and get another trim, I get split ends easily. I booked with Alyssa and when I showed up turns out the first Alyssa no longer works there and there was a communication mixup. Whatever though, this Alyssa was very professional and reallllly good, I love my hair all over again. Also, when you get your hair shampooed, you usually get a few minutes of head-rubbing, but here I got about ten minutes of a head massage which was fabulous. Overall, it's good quality, everyone is really nice, and damn my hair looks good. I will go back for sure. read more

I had a groupon for a deep conditioning and a haircut and style. The deep conditioning was good( not long lasting at all though) but the haircut was....what do i say... i cannot even see any changes! My stylist was Danielle and I told her I wanted volume layers and a "new look", but all I got was a trimming, that too not much. I cannot see any noticeable layers and forget the volume and the new look. My hair are back to normal and no change in the look or texture. After so many good reviews of this place, is it the groupon customers they have problems treating? I spent $ 50 in all and it was a total waste. read more

Had to update and write another review because I just love this place and its staff that much! I was going to be on tv and the only person I trust with my hair now is Madison. She gave me yet another beautiful, flattering cut with tons of layers and did some balayage highlights that look just perfect; I get compliments on my hair all the time. I'm not exactly a hair-savvy girl, but she showed me exactly how to blow out my bangs so that my cowlick in the front is virtually GONE, and she's recommended products and tools specific to my hair type (not just because she's trying to make a sale). The staff is always friendly and accommodating, from the moment you walk in the door. I'd give this place my whole paycheck if I had to, that's how happy I am with my hair! read more

Superior service and quality hairdressers on staff. I usually go to Dominic, who is the best hairdresser I have ever had, but he was booked and I was in a pinch, so I saw Ariana. I absolutely loved the cut she gave me. As usual, I was met with friendly greetings and a comfortable waiting area and offered a cup of tea! Definitely come here if you are looking for talented and well-trained hairdressers... I've tried several salons nearby and none of them compare! Been going here for about a year+ now and although I started with Mia who has since left, I am really very happy with this place. My hairstylist is Anne and she's great. The haircuts keep getting better and better and I get a LOT of compliments from friends and family each time I go to her. Thanks Anne for my now behaving bangs! :) They also take great care of you there. My car died and they didn't even bat an eyelash that I was a half hour late. Just took me in and took care of me. After recieving a glaze two days ago from Natalye, who assured me she was not going to alter my base color, I realize my hair is BLACK, with purple haze in the light. I called and spoke with Michelle, explaining I am very upset and felt I did not get the right kind of information from Natalye, who did, in fact, turn my hair black rather than dark brown. Michelles reply/ " I find it hard to believe she didnt consult with you". HUH? She did consult and I didnt get what I wanted. She then asked, were you happy when you left? I said yes, but now I have lived with it for two days and its all wrong, I didnt realize how dark it was. Her plan? Have Natalye redo it. My question... what is the way to fix it? Her reply? I dont know.. My reply... I would like to know alternatives before I come in, I dont want to damage my hair...can I speak to the manager. Her reply? Gio, the manager is not in. I went to Industry 80 for my wedding day with my 7 bridesmaids, one 8 year-old junior bridesmaid, my mother and mother-in-law. At the last minute another salon had to cancel and I was a bit stressed. Someone recommended Industry 80 and I couldn't be happier with how everyone's hair came out including mine obviously as well as how accommodating everyone there was. I did my research and settled on coming here for a haircut because of the reviews from multiple sources. I am very picky when it comes to hairstylists and hairstyles. I've had so many bad experiences that it's hard to try and commit to someone new! Coming from California, I had to start my search all over again. Although Madison did a great job with my hair, I feel like nothing justifies the prices. At least I gave it a try! I enjoyed the head massage I received while getting my hair washed. That was nice.
