LOVE LOVE LOVE this salon, and LOVE everything about them! Between the venue, their decor, the personalities, pricing, and services-- to mention nothing of online scheduling and ease of getting an appointment-- Wind Water is one of Castle Rock's hidden pampering gems, and I'm almost loathe to review it for fear of word getting out! But the simple fact is, Wind Water is too unique and too wonderful to keep to myself. I wish I'd known about them a year ago when they opened, rather than spinning my wheels heading to out-of-the-way places, overpriced hair cutting disasters, and folks whose volume of clients or experience/ competency levels left them without half the regard and attention to detail this little boutique in downtown Castle Rock has. Jenn O., the owner, is as cute, accomodating, and not intimidating (and we gals have ALL known the snooty salon women I'm talking about here!) as they come, and Lisa and Brittney are ridiculously down-to-earth for being such stylish and adorable ladies. The salon itself, in a historic home repurposed as a full-service salon and boutique, is tucked away off the main street downtown. It bubbles with 'personality' from the moment you walk in the door, with modern colors, quaint decorating touches, and shabby-chic retro crystal chandeliers to spare. The beauty of place is evident in the love and level of detail Wind Water's team has gone to to make it unlike anything else Castle Rock has to offer: it's one-of-a-kind, accessible, and one of those places you can tell the owner and employees have truly poured their hearts into. Everything here is so tastefully unique, even first-time clients will be inspired to believe that whatever they're here looking to do, the attention to detail evident in decor, and the level of listening and commitment obvious in all of Wind Water's staff, will leave them walking out with nothing less than a creation as satisfying and sophisticated as this sassy little independent salon itself. I truly can't say enough positive things about Wind Water, and it is my hope you won't take my review at its word, but will venture to Castle Rock and experience it for yourself (psssst, it's even worth the drive from Denver!!!). I had a good experience here, but my nail tech left and I haven't been back. I only have one comment. When I first started going, nails were done in this great airy space with high ceilings and lots of light. After the first few mani's, they moved the nail station to a dark area of the basement. It felt dingy and there wasn't much light. The pedicure chair does not have a drain, so the techs have to bring water in buckets. If it hadn't been for my techs natural expertise in doing nails, I would have looked for another salon. The owner changes everything around in this salon all the time, which is disconcerting. read more

I picked this salon on a whim. I just moved to Castle Rock so I didn't know where else to go. The staff is friendly and I like salons that used to be a home. It feels friendly and cozy. Brittany was professional and listened to what I want. She gave me a great cut and I will be back again. I haven't tried other services yet so I can't comment on that. I paid $35 for cut and blow dry which is pretty reasonable. read more

Attention all men! Do not go here to get your hair cut. I went in and came out with a complete disaster of a hair cut. I don't think these women know how to cut men's hair. I've had some bad cuts in my life, but this one was the absolute worst I've ever had. I was very clear on what I wanted done and she completely butchered my hair. I now look like Floyd from Dumb and Dumber. Do not go here!!! read more

Worst haircut ever. When my haircut was done my hair looked uneven, puffy, so bad I just put it up in a ponytail. I couldn't believe that I paid $55 to walk out with my hair in a ponytail tail cause it was left that ugly. Nice people but horribly hairstylist. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Amazing staff in a wonderful place! Shelby was AWESOME, it was the most painless waxing experience I've had! They very kindly got my sister and I in for eyebrow/lip waxes, even though they were busy. Perfect place if you need some relaxation. My one hour facial by Gina was spectacular. She has such soft hands and even gave me few tips on home remedies that I can do myself to make my skin better. This salon is huge and my facial took place in a very quite room downstairs with ambient lighting, sensual music and a comfortable massage bed. Already scheduled my next appointment and increased it to an hour and a half. I couldn't get enough! Thank you Gina! read more

I have to mention Staci is an awesome hair stylist. She did my hair for I would say at least 8 years. She does exactly what you ask for and never fails! I miss that she moved to CO, but CO you are in good hands with this woman! Staci makes getting your hair done with her funny stories and just her personality in general!! Wow what a horrible experience. I wish I could give zero or negative star. I had an appointment with Kelly and I fully explained to her I wanted a root touch up and full, heavy highlight not too difficult. Well she didn't listen and only was doing the root when I asked her what she was doing she became very defensive. I wanted a highlight not just the root done. So I told her it seems as though you and I are having a communication problem so please just take the foils out and let me go. And her response was ok no problem. No problem??? I was searching for a new stylist and found Wind & Water Salon by doing an internet search. After thoroughly reading their website I decided to schedule an appt with Jen. I had a boring wedged bob cut that had become tiresome and unappealing. I tasked Jen with giving me a brand new look and she came through with flying colors! My new cut was mid-ear length, sassy, and easy to care for. I know my new hairstyle is a huge success based upon all of the compliments I received. A few friends even did the head turn routine, as they almost didn't recognize me. The new style took years off my appearance.
