Simple, no frills place for men to get a good haircut at a great price. Ewa is great at what she does! Per Polish accent is endearing. I agree with other reviews in that she is truly a genuine and caring person. She virtually remembers everything about you . Haircut: fine, actually pretty good. $18 for a standard haircut Service: depends what you like. The lady put down the scissors and stopped cutting so she could talk to me about gun control, politics (how good George Bush is) and finding her husband screwing a tennis coach. She's pretty conservative and she's not afraid to tell you all about it. If you like that kind of thing, go for it... not really my scene. read more

I've been going to Ewa (pronounced like Ava) for 5 years, and thoroughly enjoy it. The haircuts are great and get compliments from every one. She's always pretty chipper about everything, and her Polish accent is adorable. The best thing is that Ewa is 100% class. She's genuinely interested in you as a person (as opposed to another customer) and loves chatting about everything going on. In the time I've been going there, she's always been a good listener and full of advice. And it's the main reason I keep coming back. I hope she's there forever. I don't know what to make of all the perfect reviews. Maybe the barber, Ewa, was having a bad day when I went for a haircut about a month ago. Since it was the first time there, I tried to tell her how I wanted my hair cut. Before I could speak a couple of sentences, she said that she knew exactly what to do, and started to make big cuts. When I tried to tell her that I didn't want so much taken off the sides, she started to get testy and said that the haircut would end up bad if I told her what to do. After a couple more such exchanges, I gave up and just went through with it, deciding to never go there again. If I recall correctly, Ewa has been cutting my hair since 1995, and I count her as one of my most enduring friends in the Bay Area. She strikes a perfect balance between superb professional competence and personal warmth, and her caring for her customers is unparalleled. This lady is great! She is incredibly friendly and interesting-she is from Poland. She is very conversational and keeps a great conversation going. Her salon is very unique and full of flavor, there are interesting pictures everywhere of good looking people and actors with cool hair styles, and an entire wall of her clients. When I was there she was keeping her birds with her and moving stuff around, and her wall of pictures of clients was completely full of interesting pictures. This unique flavor of her salon and multitude of pictures really made the place feel downhome and family run, which it was. Ewa really cared about giving me a great haircut, and must have spent close to 1 hour for my $20 cut. I don't usually give big tips but I gave her an extra big tip as she did a great job and was so kind. read more

I found this place about a year ago when searching yelp and google for a barber shop. It's a quaint little place in the back of a small outdoor shopping center, hard to find if not looking. But just like most hole in the wall restaurants, this place is a great find. I was not expecting what I saw when I first entered. The entire shop is run by a polish lady named Ewa (pronounced Eva), yet the entire shop is decked out with Maxim magazines and typical male posters (women in swimsuits, etc). She is extremely nice, friendly and easy to talk to. She provided a good haircut for the $18 price tag and it's only enhanced by the connection she makes with you. I, like many of the other goers, are loyal clients who she seems to know all by name now. Though she may not seem busy (during your haircut you will most likely be the only one in the store), it is because she does everything by appointment so do please call ahead. Sometimes she might be able to fit you in, but often times she'll be booked through the next hour or so. Definitely a place to check out, give her a call! read more

I read a review for another barbershop across the street and ended up here because I didn't check the address -- I just knew there was a barber shop in this center. My cut was fine. The proprietress, Ewa (Eva) Lammeyer was pleasant and we talked about many things. She is in the shop alone, so she takes phone calls and makes appointments while cutting your hair -- and that's a bit distracting, but understandable. She takes reservations, which I like, and seems to have loyal customers since she referred to the guy before me and the one after me by name. I didn't get into any political conversations with her and feel that's an area that Barbers shouldn't get into (you just never know...!). The $18 I paid for my cut was fair, but a bit more than I've paid elsewhere for a very simple cut. I will be back. read more

A hidden gem. Haircut: You wont get the 10 minute clipper treatment. Ewa (Eva) takes her time, listens to what you want, and gives it to you. Service: Classic and personable. Great conversation.
