I was told I would look bad with grey hair and it was dyed to a color darker than what I normally do. I also asked to just take a little off the ends and the stylist put extreme layers into my one length straight hair. I ended up looking like a mushroom head, tried curling it to make the layers work, but my hair won't hold a curl. I don't recommend this salon. I do have blonde hair that tends to turn brassy very quickly, and unfortunately that happened again after my visit, which was a bit disappointing. That said, my haircut was absolutely perfect, the prices are reasonable, and I would definitely go back. For the longest time, I have always gone to salons and no one ever educated me on keeping my hair healthy. Of course, you don't have to follow Julie's advice, as she is a very easy-going, communicative, and fun experience where you can learn a lot about your hair. But in the end, if you want healthy hair, I'd follow Julie's choices because you can never go wrong with her amazing skills. And, in the end, she gave me the best perm ever while also cleaning up my damaged hair, was very flexible with my booking, and taught me how to keep my hair cared for. Everyone loves my perm, my hair has awesome volume all while being still healthy and lush. Honestly, my dad had taken me to her when I was a kid, and I got one of those too short haircuts that traumatize you - but I was 12 at the time and probably very unable to communicate what I wanted...SO, I decided it was worth a go as an adult, and man it was worth it. I walked on in, and walked out in 30 minutes with exactly the cut I had asked for! You can pay a lot more for a cut (trust me, I've been to Gene Juarez and Seattle Aveda salons) and get the same results. If they listen to my requests (not too high of a fade, watch out for the mole in the back of my head) and they are friendly, and the price is right, I'll be back. This place did all those things. I can probably get cheaper than $15 in Seattle, but for the convenience of being close to home it's well worth it. The lady was very professional and had a nice fade. During the haircut, she was asking about the snow, if I had been working that day, and Thanksgiving. It's really small things, but it makes the difference between a pleasant experience at the hair salon and just another haircut. I'll be back here when I'm back in town and need a haircut.
