I had gotten many recommendations from people, but Salon 1 Twenty kept coming up as recommended by many locals and "I would not be disappointed". Then Bob, one of the stylist, had sent me a message to come in and he and or Rob will be happy to cut my hair, They made room in their schedule for me to come in, while I was visiting in TN. Absolutely LOVED my haircut. I had a picture that I visioned and Rob was very particular in the cut and kept referring back to the picture I had. Him and Bob I feel took the team approach to make sure I walked out with what I wanted and they had met my expectations. Well.. they did 100%. I now have two hair stylist down in Sevierville TN that I can now count on, and will definitely will be back at my next visit for a cut and color. I cannot recommend this salon based on my experience…read more Several days before my appointment, I replied "Please cancel" to the exact phone number the salon had been using to send me appointment reminders. I reasonably believed that replying to the salon's own text message canceled my appointment. I later discovered I had been charged a $179 no-show fee because, according to the salon, their reminder text system is not connected to their scheduling system. I have screenshots proving I sent the cancellation message. Despite providing that evidence, I was told there was "no proof of cancellation" because it didn't appear in their internal system. That is a business process failure--not a customer failure. When I called to explain the situation, I asked where I could send my screenshot. Instead of listening to what I was trying to explain, I was interrupted, accused of screaming, and ultimately told to find another salon. At no point did anyone acknowledge that a reasonable customer would assume replying to the appointment reminder was an acceptable way to cancel. The salon states that its goal is to provide a positive customer experience. Charging a customer $179 after they made a documented attempt to cancel, refusing to acknowledge that evidence, and then dismissing the customer falls far short of that goal. If your reminder texts do not actually communicate with your scheduling system, customers should be clearly warned before being penalized nearly $200 for relying on the communication method your business chose to use. I have preserved the screenshots, text messages, and the salon's written responses. I will also be disputing the charge through my credit card issuer. If you're considering booking here, be aware that replying "Please cancel" to their appointment reminder does not cancel your appointment, and according to my experience, you may still be charged a substantial no-show fee despite making a documented attempt to cancel.

I guess she thought I wore it curly and didn't pay attention to gaps. I actually wear my hair straight. And been wearing the same cut for a while. The lady didn't even so much take her comb from the roots and do the 1 1&2 inch finger hold. More or less if she had just put a bowl on my head and cut straight around it. I'd probably came out with the same cut. Because I have a bowel cut. No layers, no tapering, no texte rising it. More or less I'd probably done better to get a $2 haircut. She knew I wasn't happy with it when I left. But now after 4 days later, I'm still not happy with it. It still looks like someone put a bowl on it and went around it. The lady put some shampoo on her hand and with the palm of her hand she rubbed the shampoo all over my head and then rinsed it out. I used to be a hairdresser years ago and I know what a good shampoo is supposed to feel like she did not use the tips of your fingers to scrub my hair at all.
