This salon has provided me the ultimate in hairdressing experience. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable. The hairdressers and receptionist were friendly and professional. The salon is well arranged, extremely clean and the equipment and furnishings are up to date and in excellent condition. Products stocked for sale are top of the line. I'm not sure who it was that cut my moms hair here but it looked fantastic! She'd been trying different places and they all kept letting her down. She wasn't able to explain what she wanted and tried showing pictures but every other place would butcher her hair and it hurt her self confidence. I waited to leave a review until I knew for sure that the Hair Experience was the place for me. From the last 9 months, Moneta has been cutting and coloring my hair. I went in saying I was ready for a slight change, which was not helpful. Moneta asked the right questions and offered suggestions. She listened to my answers and gave me a style I am very happy with. They charged me more than they said. I called to schedule an appointment for my daughter. They said it would be $50. Showed up at the appointment, they said $50. When they were done the lady at the register said "Ok that's gonna be $50" on the register it said $55. So I said "I thought you said it was $50?" And the lady said "No, it's $55". I've never been to a better hair salon than the Hair Experience in Maryville Tn. First they value their clients time and have great communication about scheduling, when the appointment before mine was finishing early they were quick to call and let me know I could come in early and then got me right in. The salon is spotlessly clean, smells great and feels fresh and modern. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the latest styles and techniques, and they obviously want their clients to look and feel terrific. My first visit I was dealing with dry, tired hair, and an old outdated cut. Bryden, my stylist, gave me expert advice on products and directions that made a HUGE difference in my hair. When I went back for color and highlights, Marina, the owner, consulted with Bryden to make sure I got exactly what looked good on me and what I wanted. I can't say enough good things about the level of skill and care I got from The Hair Experience. I will tell all my friends, well worth the price. Speaking of which if you by hair products from them they offer a great guarantee so if you don't like it or don't get desired results they'll take it back. I love that. I've purchased sprays and conditioners and wasted plenty of money on useless products in other salons. They stand behind what they sell. Speaks to good business and high integrity. Absolutely wonderful place with absolutely wonderful people. You will not leave unhappy, and they make sure of that. I have never been to a hair place that actually cares about the clients this much. They won't just say what you want to hear to get your money and on to the next client. They will do everything they can for your hairs health and look. I went in after a temporary blue dye latched on to my hair and WOULD NOT come out. They ordered a special product for me that was gentle on my scalp and hair, but did an amazing job completely lifting the blue out and returning me to my blonde. Any other place I would've went to would just slapped some bleach on, so I was very greatful when they put in the tine and effort researching products before my appointment. They are fairly priced, very friendly, and they know what they are doing. I have never been loyal to a hair salon before, but after my experience here, I won't be going anywhere else. THE HAIR EXPERIENCE REVIEW I've been going to The Hair Experience in Maryville, Tennessee, for the past two years and was happy with my stylist. However, they have now lost my business. When I called to reschedule an appointment last week, the receptionist informed me that I needed to pay a 50 percent deposit to reschedule my appointment because they said I was late cancelling my original appointment. I had called them the day before my scheduled appointment to cancel and reschedule, but it went straight to voicemail, so I left a voice message that was never returned. I'm originally from northern Virginia and I have never experienced any salons having such a policy in my 40 years of having my hair done professionally. At the time of this review, this salon had no posted policy regarding cancellations or deposits, or what the deposits were to cover. Once before I cancelled an appointment due to a death in my immediate family, and in a following discussion, some mention was made regarding cancellation notifications due to management still having to pay employees. I don't understand why the owners haven't posted such a policy, or didn't call to tell me about their "new" policy. Hair salons are service companies and they don't receive payment until a service has been provided. I thought the way it was handled was completely and totally unprofessional. I always showed up for my appointments and gave them at least a days notice if rescheduling was necessary. I even brought them additional business last month by bringing my girlfriend in have her hair done. She was pleased with her hair cut and was interested in returning until I told her about my experience. She said she would look elsewhere. This treatment has been extremely upsetting to me so I have decided to share my experience so it doesn't happen unexpectedly to anyone else. I wonder if this is a "new" policy or if I am being singled out. I would be interested if any readers have had a similar experience at this place or any other salons in the area. read more
