I initially started going to Evan's Barbershop off of Whitestone and Eric was trimming my mustache and goatee and did a really great job every time. Then when Eric left, I gave Melissa a try, and she not only impressed me with her chair side manner, but she also was very detailed oriented. Each time there after when I came in for an appointment, she remembered which clipper guard that was used, and I never once had to remind her. Then when Evan's Barbershop moved to 2500 S. Bagdad Road in Leander and changed their name to Haircuts by Evan's, I had to follow if I wanted to continue receiving the exceptional and professional services of Melissa. In my personal opinion Melissa is truly the BEST in all of Cedar Park and Leander! I had bounced around to a few other places before I first started going to Evan's barbershop and my only regret is not finding Haircuts by Evan's sooner. I look at it like this, anyone looking for a friendly atmosphere with some kick ass tunes being played in the background, and their sanitation is dead on within the guidelines of the CDC, there isn't any need to go anywhere else, WORD UP!! While visiting my daughter in Texas I needed to find a place to get my beard trimmed and shaped. I needed to find someone who was an expert and had some savvy in dealing with breads. I shopped around for a least a month or so with no luck, until I visited Evans Barber Shop. As I sat waiting, I saw the Barber, Eric, in action. Wow did I get luckily, he was exactly what I was looking for. What an awesome experience. When I entered the Barber Shop I was greeted with a friendly hello. The shop was clean and the environment was relaxing. The customer service was excellent, the entire staff was friendly and accommodating The service I received from Eric was more than what I had expected and the price was great. I had been going the Evan Family Barbershop for about 4 years to get my hair cut. The price was fine, the barbers friendly and I could walk in without an appointment in the middle of a week and get a hair cut with minimal wait. Things have changed recently, however. Now when I go in the middle of the week, I am asked if I have an appointment. This has happened two times in the last week, including today. There were 3 barbers in the shop and only one was working. One person was waiting for the barber who was working and two barbers were apparently available. I think that if the barbershop has changed their business model from walk-in and appointments to appointments-only, they should advertise it as such so that customers like myself are aware. I am looking for another barbershop. read more

Great way to start he new year! Evans Barber Shop is great place for a hair cut and a beard trim if you are looking for a place in north Austin area (Cedar Park). Evans is a no frills kinda place that seems to concentrate on the job that they do instead of all the uppity stuff that some of the "salons" worry about. I was referred to Derrick Garcia and was not disappointed. Derrick was professional, took his time and did a great job. I have never written a review for a business in my entire life, but for this place I had to. Literally the best haircut I have ever gotten. For $18, before tip, I got my hair cut amazingly well, my neckline cut with a straight razor, my hair washed by hand with a steamed towel on my face, and a leave-in conditioner for the road. Moreover, you can get your neckline and sideburns/over-the-ear hair trimmed for free between cuts. I live all the way in Austin proper and used to just go to a Great Clips for a cheap in-n-out haircut. Never again. I will be driving to Cedar Park for every haircut. Amazing. read more

Derrick is a true artist. The days of a straight razor/hot towel shave are long gone... Or so I thought until I met Derrick at Evans Barber Shop. His steady hand and attention to detail are amazing. He told me about growing up in his grandfather's barbershop where he learned this art (and a few family secrets) at a very young age. He put me at ease. I've never had a more relaxing cut and shave. Kristine did a great job! She's quick, clean and very perches with that you ask her to do. She cleans up areas that you personally want touched up more and does until your completely satisfied. Brought my boys in for a haircut that they were long overdue for. The place was bright and clean and the temperature was very comfortable. Our barber's name was Steve. He did a great job! Heather has cut my son's hair since he was 2 and we have followed her ever since. My oldest son has a place that will always have a cowlick unless Heather cuts it.
