Beyond the haircut itself, he's a super cool dude. He's a blast to chat with, and has a great sense of humor. It's just an absolutely positive experience all around. I showed up at 5:09 and understand they don't want people coming in last second but it is misleading and annoying that no one could fit me in so they can leave by 5:30. Just say you close at 5! I plan to go back next time and hope to add positive comments to the review. The clientele was mixed, seniors, youngsters, and new and repeat customers, Tuesday morning and they were busy. Walk-ins (Me included) didn't have much of a wait and with 4 barbers working they kept it moving along with a lot of homey conversation. Old school shop with a modern, clean layout. I want to leave another great review for this place because their customer service is excellent. Bryan and Deborah truly care about their clients. They make sure you are well taken care of. If they feel like their service was not good enough for their customers, they will reach out to make it right. This is what they've done for me recently. I have never seen a barber shop care this much about their clients and reach out to their clients proactively to make things right. Bryan (manager) and Deborah are a great duo! Deborah does my hair and she is my favorite barber so far. I will continue to come back to this business because they bring high quality service and excellent customer service.

I stopped and when I was sure everyone was ok I jumped back in my truck on my way to my appointment. My GPS said I was running 12 minutes past my appointment time so I decided to call Gambuzza's to let them know of my delay. I was greeted on the phone by Haily who quickly informed me that if it's over 10 minutes, my appointment would be cancelled. Being 25 miles into the drive, I told her that I would do my best to be there by 2:10pm. This upset me as I just drove 25 miles and called to notify of the delay. I wanted to cancel right then but really needed my haircut. I did my best and arrived in the parking lot at 2:12pm and immediately got a call from Hailey that my appointment was cancelled. This upset me as I told her I was in the parking lot. She couldn't care less. For me, being a returning customer who has waited long after my appointment time, on the barbers to be available, this was very disappointing. Hailey lacked courtesy and proper customer service. Was there no way to accommodate me? So I got to drive another 35 miles home. I drove 70 miles and didn't get a haircut and was shown no grace. I let Haily know that I wouldn't be back to visit her location. So I am writing you to let you know that I will never visit any Gambuzza's locations ever again. That she caused you to lose a returning customer. And that your policy should have some sort of grace period. There are a plethora of Barbers in the Austin area and now someone else will get my business.

Once it's time for said appointment the son (in training) nor the "owner" express any apologies for the wait. In fact Harold the barber/owner has an attitude that I even brought up the fact we were waiting. Harold was putting his hands up telling me he is respectful to his other customers. No Harold, you were rude. You know these places cancel appointments for even being 5-10 minutes late. We are at the appointment 10 minutes early and still waited 30 minutes past the appointment time. During the appointment no one is speaking at all. At the conclusion of the appointment he did not provide my son a lollipop and reported having no more although my nephews who had appointments 30 minutes prior both had lollipops and reported seeing a drawer full. That is how Harold the barber and his son treat CHILDREN when they are upset with adults. Harold reported his son being "in training and learning", however, good customer service is explaining the issue in advance and expressing your gratitude for being patient and still waiting. Terrible, terrible terrible. Also the son "in training" costs the same amount as a skilled barber...interesting. They sped off in their fancy cars and didn't look back at the conclusion of the late appointment. No bueno Harold Sr ad Jr no bueno. Also the haircut was not good at all.

Recently my son was dealing with some bullying at school and struggling. We walked in to Sporting Life last week and were treated with such an awesome vibe and cheerful environment. My son mentioned to the team there, who are always so amazing with him, that he earned a position in Jr High Football. The way the shop reacted, you would have thought their son had earned it. Such pride and praise and you could see my son beaming with pride, plus his hair looked perfect! The way they treat you is like family and we will keep coming back every time! I could literally hear the sound of the phone receiver being put back into the cradle thing. I called them back and when I asked why they hung up on me, they just said they didn't know what happened, and they were fully booked for the day. I get that asking for a same day appointment on a Sunday isn't well planned out on my part, but they could have just said they're booked instead of hanging up the phone.
