The salon is beautifully decorated by Mark, the owner, and often has eclectic accessories for sale along with the hair care products you would expect to find. The entire staff is friendly and talented but I come here specifically to see Tammy. She is an amazing colorist, has taken me to blonde, red, neon red and then to my custom color that the salon refers to as Jessica Rabbit - every shade has looked vibrant and flattering to my skin because of her keen eye. I had been recommended Blossom and Root by a friend, and I am so glad I actually set up an appointment and went. I have a lot of social anxiety so I was relieved to get in the door and be made to feel welcome and at ease. They have reverted to their previous tip policy, cash. They no longer allow you to put the tip on your credit card. In a world where cash is rarely used, I find this inconvenient as I don't usually have cash on hand and when I do, it is less than the amount I would tip so now I need to make a special trip to the ATM and then find 5's and 1's. I understand it costs the salon a bit more to process, but I also feel a top line salon should offer top line service in every aspect, which includes ease of payment and minimizing client inconvenience. I will look into using paypal, but that will also be dependent on the hair stylist having a paypal account as well as their comfort in using it. I am still very happy with the quality of my color, it lasts and does not dry out my hair or quickly fade, even in the Plymouth sun! The décor is adorable, with exposed brick and iron accents. The owner, Leslie, seems very invested in each client that comes through the door. She gave me individual attention and consulted with Julie and I. Julie was great- she wrapped up that perm in absolutely no time. My favorite part was there wasn't any salon-chair gossiping going on. (That is a major pet-peeve of mine) Overall, everyone seemed very respectful, happy, and talented. I happened to have appointments here while I was back east visiting my parents. If they were out on the west coast I'd totally be a repeat client.
