Having the "hair you want" is important for self-confidence... wouldn't you agree!? Since my health status changed in 2013, I have been unable to grow my hair past my shoulders. Ever since, I have kept my thin, fine hair very blonde to kind of "mask" that I didn't have much of it, and to keep what I DID have a little bit more spunky. Just wanted to feel the most like "me" that I could while working with what I had. Honestly though, I have wanted longer hair for years and years, but gave up on the idea a while back. Then I found Teresa. Dude. I have to brag on my girl for a minute. Yes... she is stunning herself... effortlessly so. But what makes her truly special is her ability to make you feel like the "stunning one" when you leave her chair. That kind of confidence boost can't be taught... it's a gift. SHE'S A GIFT!!! This was a rare occasion where…read moreI decided to get a "professional" cut for an upcoming promotion at work, and I am leaving looking worse than I have in years. To be clear, I did my due diligence. I called ahead and specifically asked if they could do a men's haircut, and I was assured they could. When I sat in the chair, the stylist Tanya immediately told me she couldnt do skin fades. I said, "Okay, perfect," because that's exactly what I didn't want. I explained that my usual style is a more grown-out, longer look. I even showed a clear inspiration photo to ensure we were on the same page. She then proceeded to completely ignore everything I said. Not only did she not follow the photo, but she cut my hair drastically shorter than I asked for. When I voiced my concern, saying it was already too short, she decided to take even more off, making the situation infinitely worse. I usually cut my own hair, and I consistently get a result ten times better than this. The one time I trust a professional with a major life event, my trust was completely misplaced. I am so angry and frustrated. My hair is completely butchered, and I now have to face a big career milestone feeling insecure and unhappy. And I'm never unsatisfied with the outcome. She takes her time and actually gives you what you ask for. And she'll work around your schedule, which is a plus! I called in to make an appointment and she was able to get me in that same day. Pricing was average, well worth it. The place wasn't very hard to find either, just right behind CVS. My hair looked like it was just cut horizontally, no blend in between layers or the bottom. After nicely stating my concerns, she made the layers shorter but neglected all else. I stated my concerns again and another lady came to address it and with one look she said she saw the problems. She fixed everything but not the bottom since there wasn't much she could do. I did not mind that the cut was bad as long as she fixed it but I did not appreciate that she would let me walk out of the salon with a bad hair cut, she was unwilling to apologize or admit it wasn't good. The other workers supported her, I understand that supporting and empowering your employees is good but for the sake of good hair and costumer service, this place lacks integrity. At the end I was not happy with the cut but didn't want to be rude so paid the unreasonable $20. I will never return to this salon. My intentions are not bad with this honest review, hopefully it can save others from another experience or if read by owners, hopefully they will change.

I had a few bad experiences with non black hair stylist doing my hair. So for the last 20+years I only let black stylist do my hair. Yesterday I googled black hair salons. Even though they do advertise they are specialized in textured hair, you will read later that they are PRO'S at any hair texture. I called the salon. I spoke to Dawn, and I told her I had a few huge knots (like dreadlocks) and might have to cut them out after working on them the night before for 2 hours, and one one was beyond repair "so it seemed". Dawn gave me the break down of what she could try, so I went in. Her confidence and display of pure determination, made me say even if she wasn't a woman of color I was going to give her a shot. She took her time not to hurt me as much as she could. Obviously with these type of tangles it has to hurt a little, but for the most part it wasn't that bad. She kept checking in with me. So very sweet and determined not to have to cut them out, after I told her after the 2nd hour if she has to cut them out she could. I really thought that in the end my hair would not be salvageable. Wow was I wrong! She had put my hair in the wash bowel and applied the moisturize back into my hair. I had used Cantu Co Wash and another product, Shea Moisture that literally stripped the hair of any nutrients and the Shea Moisture left it with a wax/glue like feel that literally made the matted parts like a birds nest "4 hours later" sponge bomb tone lmao, my hair was totally untangled and she had also put some more products in my hair and put me under the hair dryer, with a plastic cap. The heat and products gave my hair life again. She and her husband Ron are 2 of the most nicest and genuinely cared about me and refused to let me cut my hair off. I started to tear up from happiness, the night before I was so distraught of the thought of losing my hair. I will be coming back in 2 weeks for Ron to address my grays, and have Dawn give me a facial and do my eyebrows. Yes she does all that too! Dawn you saved my life yesterday!
