So I went to Haircuts Plus for the first time today. I read the reviews on here and thought I'd give it a shot. Here's a little back story for you... I'm someone who tends to decide spur of the moment that I need a cut and sometimes color. I've been going to the same lady forever, approximately 20 years, and back in the beginning of the year, she couldn't take me as she was really sick. So I tried a friend of mine out. This friend had cut almost half of my length off, so I haven't had another haircut since. I knew it was time. I have split ends and don't really have the money to see if my usual person could fit me in. So I decided to stop in Haircuts Plus instead. I normally wouldn't do this, but like I said, I don't have a lot to spend right now, yet the urge for a trim now was real! I walked in, and Silvia helped me. She took my information and then proceeded to ask what I wanted done. She took me to her chair and then gave me my shampoo and cut. SHE ACTUALLY LISTENED TO WHAT I WANTED AND TOTALLY DID IT!!! I couldn't believe it! I left with my long hair still and some nice long layers to be able to pull all of it back all the while having bounce and body. I then decided to schedule a root touch-up (or possibly do full color) for 2 days from now and am so excited about getting it done! Even with getting charged for full color in 2 days and my cut, it's still almost $75 less than my regular lady. I'll update after my next visit. But as of now, I'm extremely pleased with my cut and attention to detail and caring enough to listen and work with what I wanted. If you're on the fence because it's walk-in only and rather inexpensive...don't be! My experience was just as good as going to my high-end lady. Btw, my picture was taken after I had my hair in a ponytail and wind blown...it actually looked much better, but is an accurate portrayal of how my hair tends to look 99% of the time. read more

It was overall a decent experience. Nothing phenomenal but nothing bad. The place was pretty nice inside and there was no wait. The lady started by spraying so much product into my hair. I'm guessing it's some kind of leave in conditioner maybe? But my skin can be sensitive so now my scalp is a little itchy, my hair feels heavier, and my hair has been smelling like dove bar soap all day. I wanted just a simple cut and that was delivered. I think it could've been a little more refined especially the later of hair underneath. If I look down it looks pretty rough. But it was super efficient and worth the price. read more

I had to go to a holiday party and really needed a haircut! I had been to their sister store down in Carlsbad,ca and I thought I would give them a try since their other location had be a good experience. This store is located in the same strip as Dave and busters right be the 41 highway. The shop itself was really nice on the inside , looked really upland clean . The girl that cut my hair was nice and really listened, she did a great job. For a haircut their price was $24 which isn't bad at all! I really liked it here it is definitely a step up from like a super cuts or something , in over all look and feel but nice cause the price isn't high , yet you still get a great quality haircut. read more

I went here on a whim recently because I had an event later in the day and suddenly felt "I really need my hair trimmed." Normally I go to my regular guy at my regular salon (where I've gone for 15 years and I'm very happy with) but for a last-minute haircut this was a great option. A coworker had mentioned getting her hair cut by Loane, and that is (randomly) who I was assigned to also when I went in. Loane was very friendly and she did exactly what I asked -- shampoo, cut and blow dry, trimming it to the length I asked and adding a few layers as I asked. Especially for a last-minute whim, this exceeded my expectations. The huge advantage here is that you can walk in, which is perfect for busy or impulsive people. Cost was "fine." My daughter came along and also got a shampoo cut and blow dry (and she didn't catch the name of the stylist) but she was also happy. For both of us it was $104 before tip, so $52 each? That seemed like higher than if you added up the prices posted on their website, but if you look closely, it says the prices "start at." And they don't announce how much they are charging you. No one says "you've got long hair so the blow dry will cost more" or whatever. My point being, you might be a little surprised by the prices but it's still a decent value for a perfectly good haircut. My regular guy charges $60. read more

I've been calling around and debating on a haircut. My hair is long and I was getting tired of it so I needed a new look. Today I decided to just cut it! I saw this place next door to where I picked up lunch. They weren't busy but I wanted to have lunch first. A few hours later I call this place, a woman answered and she was very friendly. I asked for prices for a woman's haircut with long hair. They said it was $20. I thought that was just the starting price. She told me long or short it was still $20. I thought that was a great deal! I figured if they messed up I still have long hair I can get it fixed somewhere else. I worked up the courage to finally get myself to the shop. My daughter wanted to go with me but I told her that we have to find someone that specializes in cutting curly hair. When we walked in, we were greeted by Loan at the front who checked me in and who also cut my hair. She was very friendly and welcoming. I felt confident that she was going to do a great job. I asked her if anyone specializes in cutting curly hair. She was explaining to me that her and Maria both can cut curly hair. She also explained to me how they would cut it where my daughter's hair wouldn't be poofy. When I saw Maria's hair, I also felt confident that she would know how to cut my daughter hair since Maria's hair was also curly. So I was hoping she would understand what my daughter wanted. We both love our new haircuts and loved the recommendations of the hair products they offer. We will definitely be back when it's time for another haircut! Went in for a wash and trim. The girl ended up taking close to 5 inches off my hair but then missed some of my bangs so I had an entire layer i needed to trim after I got home. I let the girl know I don't like the feeling of a lot of product I'm my hair but had to almost immediately wash it again after getting home because she put in so much that my hair just felt gross by the time I got home. The ladies in the shop were all extremely nice and easy to talk to though. So I am hoping that girl just had a bad day. Either way I probably won't go back. read more

I brought my late mother in law here for about 3 years. She had declining health, dementia & extreme hearing loss. Every week for a wash, dry, styled & occasional coloring & cut. They truly made her feel like family & were very patient & were sure she didn't fall or possibly injure herself as she was very weak. i had a full day of errands the day i came in here so didn't want to spend all day at a salon to get my hair done. they welcome walk ins here. there were a few people ahead of me & wait time wasn't bad. there is a comfortable seating area to wait when you first walk in. the stylists here were super friendly, welcoming & in the holiday spirit of halloween with their costume/face paint makeup. so fun! this salon is very clean & organized. i had in mind what style of cut i wanted & how many inches to trim off but wasn't too sure. LoAn (lo-ann) is who worked on my hair & i was very pleased with the outcome - it was exactly as i had envisioned: long with layers for maximum volume. she did a wash, cut, blow out & the total was $56.00. my hair feels healthy now & i lOVE my hair. tysm LoAn, i SO appreciate you!! read more

Was desperate to get a haircut. I tried looking up places and they mainly all required appointments and when I called I didn't get an answer. Encountered this place and was very impressed. I didn't wait long. The lady that helped me, I believe her name was loan, she was very nice. Asked me how short I wanted to go on my hair and didn't cut much more than that or less. I am giving 2 stars because of my recent and past experience and also for Loanne's amazing work in fixing the mistakes that were made with Lisa in the first place. I have gone here before and had an a line haircut that came out uneven (almost like an asymmetrical bob, which was not what I asked for). I went back a few days later and it was fixed, it was an easy experience and have since given them a second chance. Fast forward to recent, I just had surgery which caused my hair to start falling out. I went in to cut it short into a pixie for easy maintenance and to hide my hair loss. Lisa was my stylist. At the time I didn't notice anything wrong. Once I got home and started to feel it I noticed that the back wasn't blended in or faded and it looked like I had a bowl cut and I wasn't happy with the length around my ears. I went back to have the ears trimmed because initially I thought I wanted it a little longer but realized it didn't work well with my glasses on. When I went back, Lisa (the same woman who cut it into a pixie in the first place) was the one to help me fix the problems I had. I brought up my concern about it not being blended in the back and she told me it was fine and left it as is. Then she cut the hair at round my ears and I went home. Upon looking at the cut, I noticed I now have a bald spot around my ear because she cut too high and too far on one of my ears. I contacted the salon and let them know all of my concerns and that I either wanted it fixed by someone who was comfortable doing pixie cuts (clearly not Lisa) or I wanted my money back. Finally I went in and they scheduled me with Loannne (I'm not sure if that's how you spell it) and she was very nice, addressed my concerns, and fixed my hair as much as she could. I was very happy with it once she was finished. Ultimately, I wish I hadn't had to go back multiple times (3) and I wish Lisa would have been honest if she wasn't comfortable doing a pixie cut on me. I felt that because I didn't leave a tip and I used a coupon on my first cut with Lisa (I'm broke and only had enough to get a haircut which since my hair was falling out was cheaper than a perm or multiple hair cuts to make it look full down the road) she slaughtered my hair and didn't care to make it nice. I am not sure that I would go back to this salon in particular but I definitely know that I will not be getting my hair cut by Lisa again. I finally have courage to post this. So i went in about two weeks ago, got my haircut and it was cute the lady was nice. I was talking with her, felt confident & made an appt for a cute bayalage look i showed her a picture of my past bayalyage Thinking & assuming she knew what she was going to do. The day of my appt; waited 15 mins after my appt time, no big deal i am patient i know she's busy cutting hair. Anyways that's when it went down hill. I told her even before my appt i wanted baylayage & she knew. Time was done with the foils after she washed me out did the toner blah blah process. I went back to the chair and it was like WTF, i literally didn't know wth happened cus it was patchy, all a straight line literally told her to pull up the blonde so she mixed again added blonde up higher in the front and idk about the other parts. But she told me she had to hurry but get it right because she has to clock out so someone else will tone me and wash me out the other lady did tone down the blonde which i appreciated but when i went home i was beyond mortified. Not only because i arrived - 12:30 and left at like 5:00. And my hair was completed FUXKED up! The cost was 115.00 but they knocked it down to 99.00 which i think they knew it was fucked up. Anyways i went to get it COLOR CORRECTED else where which i had her take the photos before she started to work on me to show how my hair ended up! Haircuts Plus is great. Similar idea to Supercuts but nicer. Better stylists, better looking location. Supercuts was kinda hit or miss, depending on who you got. Haircuts plus is much more reliable, everyone is good (even if you have a favorite like I do). One neat thing is that they have your prior notes in their system, so once you check in they just confirm you want the same thing. That's pretty neat. They also send out monthly coupons by text. And they accept ApplePay. Yay! The only thing missing is the ability to check in when you're heading over or on a phone app, but otherwise a huge upgrade from Supercuts. read more

LoAn is my go to hair snipper/shaper. She layers my mop so nicely and when I nit pick little details like the back hair line or slight slant at the ears, she fine tunes it with a patient smile. I never go anywhere else and always call ahead to make sure she's there. The wait is rarely all that long as the shop manages its schedule efficiently. On occasion, if you call ahead, (they don't do appts) they will let you know if you might want to get some errands done first, but again, that's rare, even on busy weekends. The price, with a well deserved tip, is still reasonable, even when you factor in inflation as they've managed to keep it from creeping out of range for the average customer. The shop is always clean and LoAn's colleagues are also friendly and personable, and from what I've seen of others walking out the door, as talented and versatile as she is.
