READ COMPLETE STORY: I accompanied my friend to get her hair cut and highlighted. The woman she spoke to over the phone had promised to price match my friend's Groupon ($85) since she claimed to not accept Groupon itself. Once we got there, this woman refused to cut her hair as short as she had requested. She then proceeded to dye--not highlight--almost her ENTIRE head a nasty yellow. She also darkened her roots (without consent) and did a bunch of extra stuff she had never asked for. When my friend went to pay, the woman charged her ‼$270‼ on the grounds that she "had used all the very best products" and that her hair was "so thick it required more dye than normal" (it's actually kind of thin). She then had the audacity to ask for a tip and a 5 star review. My friend is too nice to fight for the discount or leave a bad review... but I'm not In short: she was lied to, cheated, taken advantage of, and she HATES her hair (which will now cost more $$ to fix). read more

I was in a pinch and needed my haircut same day! I found this salon on yelp, she only had a few reviews but they were all great. I was still a little skeptical but I decided to give her a try. Lucky for me the salon is still pretty new so she was able to get me in! The salon is pretty easy to find located in the same shopping center as LA Fitness. The salon is itself is bright and clean, tasteful and not over the top. Young greeted me right away and got me into a robe. We took a couple minutes to talk about what I was looking for. what I loved was that she could give advice about what she thought would look good on me as well as listen to what I actually wanted. She is able to give her opinion but gives her client the say in the end. The products she used are good quality which is awesome! Throughout the experience she asked for feedback and made sure I was happy with how it was turning out. The Cut itself turned out to be exactly what I wanted. Her prices are fair and comparable to other salons. My shampoo,cut and style came out to 45$ and then I got a 10% discount for the promotion she is running right now! One of the best parts was how easy she is to talk to! It is evident that she really cares about her clients she didn't try to sell me any hair products that I didn't need. Bottom line I'm so happy I found this place! I will be back to get my hair colored pretty soon hopefully! Whatever you do dont ever get a perm here!!! I dont know whats wrong with her petm solution but after washing my hair 3 days later i had no perm just frizzed out hair no curls!!! I wasted over $250. She seemed to have raving reviews online but she cant perm worth a shyt!!! Today, Is the day that I finally decided to change up my hair-do. After much consideration I decided to come here and give it a chance! Young recently opened her salon and although I was a little apprehensive, I was soon reassured by how knowledgeable she was. Young suggested getting a balayage to brighten my complexion for summer. She was such a pleasant conversationalist that I didn't even notice the time going by and before I knew it I was done. The highlights came out perfect just like the Instagram models! I asked for one thing and got another . At first i was content with it regardless of it being different than what i asked for but then within days it faded and turned slightly orange. I called and described the situation and made and appoitment to go in and fix it and she tried to add additional charges. To add on when i went i had to dry my own hair while she was helping two other clients. So over Will not come back nor recommend. read more

I used to go to Yong when she was off Old Peachtree Rd in Duluth next to Kirin House, and was so sad when I heard she sold that salon and wasn't there anymore. I was simply looking for a place to get a wash and blowout. I live around this area so I found it kinda hiding behind LA fitness here on Sugarloaf parkway... I went into the salon and was greeted very nicely. I got my hair wash, and Ms.Young noticed my layers being a bit choppy so I took her suggestion to lighten the weight of my layers and thin it out so it blends together.. and I was pleasantly surprised my haircut looks amazing, it's so light but looks so much better now! My stylist is Yong who is absolutely amazing. Every time she does my hair I feel like a million bucks and tonight was no exception. When I went in I didn't know what I wanted so I just told her I needed a change and she knew exactly what to do. Traveling from out of state and I decided I had a day to get a fresh cut. Ms Young took me within an hour which fit my schedule perfectly. I explained that I wanted my hair shaped, some of the weight on top cut, and bangs cut. Also, I like to have my earrings show. Well....Ms Young went to town and cut my hair so much that it is a different cut altogether. Very short in back and completely exposed my ears (all of my ears). Its a great cut, but way shorter than I was expecting or asking for. Thank goodness I've got thick hair and it grows back! I've had many cuts on the road, some good, some really bad. So, I can't say this is a BAD cut, but it is definitely shorter than most stylists would cut on the first visit. read more

I had my hair done on Friday and Ms. Young was amazing. I got my hair permed (digital perm - heated perm) dyed and got bangs. With all that, not a single strand was damaged. She was very thorough and made sure she got each and every one of my strands (even my baby hairs). She was very personable and her salon is gorgeous! The owner is very nice and very patient but a bit insensitive. I have a bi-racial daughter and went to our appointment for the keratin and the cut (we did not want the color although purchased a package). 1) The first thing the owner says is, "Oh, you must be looking for the salon next door", even though I SPECIFICALLY said I have an appointment with her. 2) My daughter and I go next door and the salon says that there is no one there by that name. Lol! 3) I go back and the owner asks, what are you wanting? I said my daughter has a keratin appointment. She says, "Oh, because I don't do black hair." I responded, that's fine, I'm not here for my hair. 4) My bi-racial daughter, who has wavy/curly hair, was a bit uncomfortable as I would have been too as this was her first time having her hair done. And now the owner, the stranger, is feeling my child's hair as if it is a foreign object. She's never seen silky, deep, wavy hair?! 5) She then says it will be an extra $50 on top of the Groupon (although we weren't getting the color) for her hair. I took my daughter here based on past reviews but I didn't read or see the fine print saying no BI-RACIAL hair or BLACK hair. Yes. I understand that some stylists may be more comfortable with certain types of hair and has the freedom to pick and choose whose hair they want to do. I just think these things should be noted on the owner's website so that consumers don't waste their time. As a business owner myself, I know that there is a way to communicate effectively too. I didn't realize that keratin was so much more challenging on curly hair. Lol! I can't begin to express how happy I was with my services at Hairdo Salon. Not only was it one of the best haircuts I have ever had, but the color and highlights are perfection. Plan to be pampered and relax in the most comfortable washing sink I have ever experienced (no next day headache that I usually have from my neck being stretched backward) The pricing is very reasonable, but my favorite bonus is the natural products Young uses with no harsh chemical smell while producing the same great results.
