I went here for a haircut a few days ago, and I am really happy with the results. I wanted the top kept long and to have the sides trimmed up and blended in, and the stylist did it perfectly. DO NOT get your hair done here (Specifically with the hairstylist Kim). The first time I came to this salon, I actually really liked the service and even asked the hairstylist, Kim, to write down what she used on my hair for next time. She claimed that when she looks at my hair again she would be able to figure out what she used. That could not be more wrong. I proceed to go to this hairstylist right before vacation to touch up my blonde. She turns my hair into this grey/dark brown mess (pictured below) and almost lets me walk out of the salon that way, until I spoke up and told her this was NOTHING like what I walked in with or wanted. She then "fixes" it by turning my roots completely orange (pictured below). I express my frustration and she tells me next time I come in she will get the color down. When I get home and show my family, I realize that I must have her fix it. So I call the salon and talk to my hairstylist. She tells me I look beautiful and begins getting very snappy with me because I do not like what she did to my hair. She says the color is bad because my roots were very grey (even though I've never had a problem with hairstylists covering up my grey before). She tells me she cannot fit me into her schedule before I leave for vacation (which I understand since I didn't give her a lot of time). However, she continues to be rude and as I'm explaining why I do not like my hair, she goes "I'm closing the salon" and totally hangs up on me. Do not recommend her at all. read more

Every time I go to Asian salon, they bob my hair. Why??? I never told them to and even showed a picture! My hair was already short and she made it much shorter omg. The guy that cut my hair here the first time completely butchered me. I asked for a certain length and he cut twice as much. The end product looked so bad that I might as well have just gotten a buzzcut. It wouldve made more sense than what was going on on my head. I was livid. I came back a few more times hoping that Id get someone else to cut my hair and I would just try to explain what I wanted a bit better. The lady that would cut my hair twice after that got exactly what I wanted though it was really basic, it was what I wanted which is why I didnt give a 1 star instead. Today I came back hoping she'd cut it again but the guy took me in instead. I wasnt even sure if she was there and unfortunately didnt get her name the first few times so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and figured maybe if I explain how I want my hair to him the same way I did for the lady, he'd do better this time. I was horribly wrong. He butchered me again. He just combs everything forward and starts shaping your hair with clippers to what he THINKS you asked for then continues to cut shorter than what you wanted. Theres no technique or care. He doesnt ever check to see if everythings even or the right length before he continues to shave off more he literally just wings it. He'll just press the clippers against your sides and go at it. No ounce of tapering or anything. This is what it would look like if you pulled a random person off the street and told them to cut your hair. If you want a cheap haircut, this is the place to go but you get what you pay for. Sometimes less. Like I said, the lady does a decent job just make sure you steer clear of the guy. read more

If you want a descent hair cut, or at least get it styled the way you want it, do not go to Hairdo USA. I actually frequented this place for quite some time and while I was a college student I'd go to this place to get my hair cut. Reason being, as a broke college student, a $9.00 haircut seemed quite appealing to me. There is also one lady (I don't know her name) that does a descent job cutting hair. I stopped going here after I had 2 horrible hair cuts in a row. The first was time was just a poorly done haircut and noticed parts being uneven when I got home. The second time was worse. I walked in to some young looking lady who looked like she was taking a nap. She shot up immediately after I walked in, and I was disappointed to see the lady I know that cuts well wasn't in. I grew out my hair for several months as I wanted it to be long and have a certain style to it, and after explaining what I wanted, she just cut away with no mercy. Each time I thought she would stop and just adjust the evenness, she would go even shorter. I left pissed and will never be back. The guy that works here is strange. He will sit you down, hold a pair of scissors in his hand and pretend like he can cut hair, until one of the ladies are ready then he'll have them take over. Oh, and I feel like they don't even listen to you or what you want like 70% of the time. They ask you what you want, and nod their head and agree before you're done talking. Spend more money and go to a better place. read more

I've gone here for years -- like 10 years !! the main team at this Hairdo USA does not speak great English; however, they are super nice people and I've always felt like they've done a great job cutting hair for me (a guy) and my two sons . . . their prices have increased fairly dramatically over the past few years, so they're not quite the great deal that they used to be . . however, I'd definitely recommend them :) read more

Update: Wow is this place great I called last minute after work to see if they could squeeze me in since I had a work function the next day and even though they were closing in a hour and a half that had my hair cut colored and styled before closing!!! Thanks Ladies you rock!!!!!!i forgot how great it feels when someone else washes your hair!! OMGoodness it was better then a scalp massage. My hair looks great!! They did a fantastic job of fixing my mistake ( let my daughter practice dying on my hair) went from a dull yellow number to pencil color to a vibrant brunette. Best of all it was affordable $30 and up for coloring and highlighting is a measly $10 more.. Really worth the price she does a great job my new go to place for a cut and color. Thanks for fixing my mop and giving me a mane.. The place is bright and inviting with plenty of magazines and toys to keep the little one occupied. They immediately clean up after each client so it's clean and comfortable, they get a little busy on the weekends and they don't take reservations but stated that if you call ahead to see how busy they are they can give you a wait time or tell you what time would be best. AMAZING. The folks that work here are great at their jobs and take the time to exchange names and build rapport. They are welcoming and lovely. I believe the gentleman that cut my hair was Shaun (forgive me if I've gotten it wrong!) and he was fast and did a wonderful job, took me as a walk in, and the price was so reasonable. It's really difficult to find such a great place to get my hair cut and for such a bargain. The place was clean, and a convenient location for me. My boyfriend recommended it to me because I believe Shaun's wife Mary cuts his hair and she does a great job. He has type 3C hair and has had a hard time finding someone who can cut his hair properly. We're stoked to have found this place. Definitely recommend it! read more

I did not like my last hair cut from this place. I wanted a fade and I believe my exact words for the top were, "leave the top, but clean it up". Apparently she took that to mean, "you want a crappy faux-hawk looking thing, I'll chop an inch and a half off the top." I did not want it to look anything resembling a faux-hawk... Bad experience, all around at the Happy Valley shop. If this is good, competent customer service then I should'nt be complaining. See what you think. Tina, the female haircutter does not change gloves from client to client whether it's dying someone's hair or just a regular haircut, neither did I notice any kind of sanitation of scissors between clients. Twice after leaving there I had crazy, itchy scalp for 2 days causing me to think that I had been given the gift of someone else's lice. She often speaks in whatever her language is while she is gabbing away on the phone while cutting your hair with what sounded like family or friends, and/or, speaks to the husband loudly back and forth in that language during the haircut, which always gets me to thinking if they're talking about me like the Seinfeld episode. It's just that inconsiderate manner that feels uncomfortable. A little bit of english in front of customers goes a long way. Needless to say, I allowed 2 times there and that's it. The workers there are amazing. Truong Le was a fantastic person and had a great personality. If you want someone who knows how to do the best perm, hit my boy up. Highly recommended. Everyone else there is not worthy taking me except my boy Truong. One time me and my friend Hikaru went in for a simple haircut, but we were greeted by Truong. No frills here. But I'm a simple guy with pretty simple hair, so what do I care? I've been going to this place since I moved to Southeast and am overall very pleased. There's almost never a wait. I get in and out in about 8-15 minutes for $8+tip. They usually just have a movie or a Friends DVD on the TV, which makes time fly by even more quickly (and without any awkward conversation). read more

Nothing special, but a bunch of woman that can freshen you up very quickly. It is a hit an miss on how well you will look after your $9 cut. I however now know what days the gal I like works and get the cut I want. The only downside is the language barrier can be big when small talk begins. read more

Never have your hair colored here!! I live close to this salon, so I've been there several times. I had haircuts, which weren't terrible but not great either. The people working there have poor english, and i often felt they did not fully understand what i was trying to say when i was explaining how i wanted my hair cut (and even worse, several times while i was talking and trying to show them pictures they would not pay attention, looking somewhere else or setting up their work station. Did not appreciate that.). Usually it was pretty simple though, like some layers and a trim. I didn't have much of an issue until the last time i visited them, when i wanted my hair colored. There was one other time they colored it for me, I wanted it red and they just added the color to my dark brown hair, so it did not show well. This time I told the woman that was working on my hair that i thought it may be better to bleach my hair first. She asked me if I had my hair colored before, and i told her that yes I'd used semi-permanent colors before and the last one i had was several months ago. (so it was washed out) from here on, it got ugly. I was stuck there for around 3 hours! The first time she bleached my hair, i think she washed it out too early. Only the top two inches of my hair was very light, and the rest a light brown. She blamed me, telling me that it was my fault because i had used color before (but i had told her ahead of time..) She then, right in the sink that she had just washed the bleach out in, added more bleach right on my wet hair. After that she left me there, with my neck very uncomfortable against the sink edge, to go work on another person! While the bleach "set in" to my wet hair. Yep. After she was done cutting another person's hair, she returned and washed my second helping of bleach out. But of course, since she applied it to wet hair, the bleach made close to no effect. She sat me in a chair anyways. She must've noticed my worried look as she asked her assistant to turn my chair away from the mirror. She also had him stand in front of me with another hair dryer, to block the view of anyone who might come in. She brushed my hair very hard, i'm usually pretty tolerant but she was ripping hairs out (she said it was because she hadn't shampoo'd it yet). It was awful. Even with the terrible bleaching job, she then proceeded to apply the red coloring. Of course it came out alot brighter at the top. She started trying to convince me it was fine like that. I disagreed so she said she could darken it at the top. She did, and still it is a few shades brighter at the top. I was already sick and tired at this point, running late to other plans, and even though i was unhappy with the color i just wanted to leave. The color was so close to my original dark brown anyways, you could barely tell i had anything colored. Their price says $30 for color, but she charged me $75!!! and that was after i complained, I think she wanted about $80. For this crap color and terrible treatment, I was pissed off but paid. As I was leaving she told me "next time don't color your hair dark first!" loud enough so people could hear its not her fault. Ugh, never again! read more
