I had a cut and color by Dai. He decided what color my hair should be and did not consult me on his decision. It was way too dark and did not match my previous hair color which I requested. He dyed my forhead and did not rinse out the hair dye completely, resulting in my head itching from the residue. The haircut was initially cut crooked but he fixed it. Might try a different stylist at this salon as the color did not fade even when attempting to intentionally with non-color safe shampoo. read more

DO NOT MAKE AN ONLINE APPOINTMENT! I went on their website, and they tell you that you can make an online appt. I did-- for 2pm Saturday. I received not one--but TWO- email confirmations of this appointment, so I thought it was a "sure thing". I live 14 miles away, but drove all the way there. When I arrived-- NO appt. was scheduled for me. The stylist was booked. No time for me. SO WHY THE HECK DO THEY LET YOU BOOK ONLINE, and why CONFIRM IT? (TWO times by email)... This just ticked me off royally. ... Another stylist (Brenda) agreed to take me. I had to wait about 45 min., but at least I did get my hair cut, wash and blow dry. Brenda is very nice and cut it exactly how I like it. Thank you Brenda. But I am still steamed that I made an online appt-- and it was a joke-- no appt. made at the salon... Also on the website, they ask that you "please let us know if you have to cancel". Ha.. WHY NOT LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WON'T BE HONORING MY TIME AND MY APPT.??? Also they raised prices quite a bit.. I've been coming here for years because it's so close to my house. I go in about every 6 months, but I honestly never know if I'm going to get a good cut. I usually just walk in, and the wait is usually 10-20mins. I have thick wavy hair, and I ask to get it thinned out, and every single hair dresser does it a different way. Sometimes the cut's been crooked, and I have to go back for them to re-cut it, but sometimes it's fine. A regular wash and cut is $21.99, which isn't too bad considering a lot of my friends pay $50 at a salon, but the inconsistency is just kind of annoying. read more

I used to live in Bellevue. In Factoria. And, moving on... My husband used to get his hair cut by a chic named Tu at Hairmasters in Loehmann's Plaza. The cut was alright. I never looked at it and said, "Wow, babe. That is one fine haircut." But, it didn't make me want to shave it all off and start over, either. My hubby, however, thought Tu was the sh*t. Not because she made him look like Bond, James, Bond. Not because she looked like porn star. He thought she was the sh*t because of the way she washed his hair. Something about scalp massage and "oh yeah, right there". And, moving on... My boys got their hair cut at this Hairmasters and it was hit and miss depending on which stylist was available. In the stylists' defense, the boys were hit and miss in their descriptions of what they wanted and sometimes their style choices. Despite admonishments from Mama, they frequently chose to follow the well beaten path of hideousness that is teenage fashion statements. And, moving on... The two times that I allowed anyone to touch my person here had varying results. I got a cut here once and it was just fine. It was really just a trim and the stylist just followed the same lines laid down by the previous cutter. No big deal, it all came out good. Then, I went in to get my brows waxed. The "waxer" convinced me to try threading. Sure, I'm game. I left with grandma's eyebrows after twenty minutes of something that was developed by the CIA to replace waterboarding. This place absolutely sucks. These women are below novice grade hair cutters. My mom did a better job when I was a kid with bowl and pair of scissors. I asked them to fade my sons sides with a number three and take a half an inch of the top of his head and instead they butchered his hair. Upsetting experience at the Bellevue Factoria Salon. Cindy did a root touch up on my hair which I was told was about sixty some dollars. At checkout she charged me for a "full" hair color $85 and an additional ten dollars for a "long hair". Only the roots were colored as agreed to with her when she started working on my hair. She did not give me a reasonable explanation for charging me for the "full" hair color. She said the ten dollars were for the blow dry. The receipt did not say blow dry but only "long hair" so I don't know what service I paid the ten dollars for nor why I had to pay for a service I did not get. I would have asked for a full hair color and let my curls air dry if I knew I was going to be charged for these services. read more

I have spent two years growing my hair out until it is long, and went in yesterday to have the split ends trimmed. I asked to have about 1.5 inches trimmed off the bottom, and to have the bottom 2 inches of it layered. The stylist I was given speaks virtually no English, and clearly wasn't able to understand what I told her. I was shocked when I saw that she had cut off more than 7 inches of my hair, in chunks here and there. When I expressed my dismay, the manager said he would "fix" it. He ended up turning my long, straight hair into a shag haircut, and then said, with a smile, that I'd just need to grow it out. The worst haircut of my life, and I'm going to have to pay to have it re-done, plus I hate this style, and will have to live with a shag for a year until it grows out! read more

I was deciding between 2 and 3, because I would place my total experience as 2.5. I really liked customer service, even though I suspect that some customers could be put off by direct, East Coast joking style. I am used to it, probably tend to be like that sometimes myself, it leaves mostly positive impression on me. Inside salon was nothing special; nothing great, nothing bad, an average is what I thought of it. Prices were way too high! I got my eyebrows threaded and it was $12. I was told it was the same price as waxing. I wasn't sure if that was supposed to explain something to me? Threading is a lot cheaper than waxing because it doesn't require much product except a thread! Frida was a lovely lady, but she is no where near as good as the lady whom I normally go to in Seattle. She is rather slow, and I thought that slow meant my eyebrows will be super clean, but not the case at all. I have a lot of small hairs sticking out, and will have to get threaded again in a week. I told her not to change the shape I already had, instead just clean around it. She ended up modifying my shape on my left eyebrow, and I'll have to pencil it in. I came in today with a need for a quick and easy haircut. I chose Hairmasters as I had an errand to run next door. I hopped into Hairmasters to ask how soon until they could serve me. The two hairdressers replied that they were almost finished with the only other client in the store, and that it would only be a couple minutes. I went to run my errand next door and returned five minutes later. I sat in the chair for another thirty minutes, without them even saying a word to me. I then decided to get up and leave. Please do not waste your time with such a poorly run buisness. Also, the haircuts were 20 dollars, 5 dollars more than at great clips, a hair salon of similar quality.
