If you want to permanently damage your hair and be charged too tier price for it then be my guest and visit Bishops in Newcastle. But if you truly care about receiving a professional hair color search for a different salon and avoid this place. I had the worst experience of my life at this salon. -1000000/10 the hair dressers are inexperienced and the salons owner will not refund your money. I tried to speak to the owner but she was always on vacation according to the employees and I never got a call from her like promised. My hair was healthy before this salon damaged it down to the scalp and destroyed my natural curl pattern. Dont let their smiling faces fool you they have no idea what they are doing in there. They are literally training on your hair. Day 1. I walked in and was helped by Sky who glanced at my inspo picture and said there was no problem. She could do it. She started foiling my hair and was taking so long that she had to get another girl to assist her. It was over processed in some places and had about 2" of roots showing! Please look at my inspo picture there was a very gradual fade from roots to balayage. Sky should not be trusted with color. Sky then showed me and I was underwhelmed especially because she cut about 6" of healthy hair which I did not ask her to do. I had asked her to trim the ends. That was it. I love my long hair but I ended up with shoulder length. I paid $350 plus tip which you have to pay prior to them working on your hair. Absurd. When the hair was revealed to me I almost cried. It was nothing like my inspo picture. Some parts were orange and others were bright yellow. Day 2. The following day I returned to tell them that after closer inspection my roots were showing about 2-3" in some places!!!! Like what?! Why wouldn't she color my hair from the roots out?! I've had balayage before and this was anything but a balayage. This doesn't deserve to be called balayage. The original hair dresser Sky spoke to me and I started crying cause I told her that wasn't what I asked for. She told me she was super busy and that I should have a different hair dresser in the shop fix it. The new hair dresser had only been doing color for 3 months. She admitted this to me while I was already being worked on. She couldn't believe how orange and yellow my hair was so she took pictures of it and told me I had hot roots. She wasn't sure how she was going to fix it. She foiled my entire head again and by now my scalp was hurting and itching from all the chemicals. Long story short she ruined my hair even further by turning it silver/purple. She should have said she didn't know how to do a color correction before I sat down. By the end of the day I got up and had the frizziest hair that looked LAVENDER. I went home sobbing. My self esteem was shattered and was now $400 poorer. Day 3. No refunds I returned the following day to tell them this was the worst experience and that I needed to speak with the manager. She refused to speak to me and I was not issued a refund. Please use this as a cautionary tale. Do not visit this salon ever. I will not be returning or recommending anyone that I care about. Save your money! They also fail to check ID when serving clients alcohol. Big no no. read more

I went to Bishops to have my beard trimmed. I had my dog Murphy with me, but they said they were pet friendly and it was okay to have him with me. When they say pet friendly they mean PET FRIENDLY! The staff has played with him while I was getting my beard trimmed. While some places say pet fit and tolerate pets this place actually welcomed him. . Thank you Bishops!! Sky was my barber/stylist and did a great job on my beard. She was thorough, asked questions and made sure it was exactly how I wanted it. If I had hair I would definitely go to her a haircut, but God is my barber now. Thank you Sky. read more

I'm really surprised to hear the negative reviews of this salon. I've actually had Sky as my stylist for years and she's done fantastic cuts and light copper color on my naturally dark brown hair. I originally showed her an inspiration photo and she mixed the formula exactly right and always cut my hair according to what would work with my natural, slightly curly hair texture. I think the salon is pricier than other salons but I don't mind because I've gone to several salons around Bellevue, with mixed results. Been here multiple times and have always had good service and haircuts for me and my two boys. Today I had an appointment I booked at the end of my last visit. There was no one there and the posted hiurs had them opening an hour after my appointment time which i received both an email and text confirmation for. So I called prior to making my appointment to get a recommendations as to whether Bishop's had a stylist on staff with the needed skills to do what I had in mind. I get complicated asymmetrical cuts with lots of texture, as well as a side shave/undercut on one side (to which I wanted to incorporate some line art). I also have naturally wavy hair, so needed someone experienced with all of these aspects. I've had difficulty finding stylists who can do all these things- I realize what I'm asking for is complex, and its not for just anyone. Which is why I always call & ask if there is someone with this level of expertise when looking for a new stylist. The stylist started with the side shave/undercut & line art first. There were some adjustments to the line of the side shave/undercut to help it fall/style better. All started well- there was lots of discussion and the side shave/undercut and line art design turned out very well and I was super excited about the changes we made up to that point. All looked great! I had a picture for what I wanted to do for the long section of my hair (the half of my head that wasn't shaved/undercut). I had indicated I'd been growing out my hair, and needed to trim this section (its very layered, with lots of different lengths, but the longest length was at my shoulders)- I provided a picture of what I was working towards....but it wasn't until later I realized she never asked me more in depth questions about this part of the cut. I was chatting with one of the other stylists (who was observing the cut) for a moment, and before I even realized, cutting on the long section had begun without any further discussion (and I was turned away from mirror, so didn't immediately realize as I was distracted by the conversation). I didn't feel overly concerned- the first portion of the cut went so well, and after all I'd shown a very clear picture of what I wanted and I expected she would check in with questions (just like every other stylist I've ever worked with). As my hair was still fairly damp and not fully styled when I departed, I couldn't tell how bad the damage was until I was part way home. Once I saw how it was drying, I cried and cried and CRIED. The final cut looked NOTHING like the picture I'd shared or what I'd started with. I even washed it and attempted to restyle. The longest layers in my desired cut were shoulder length, and the cut I received had chin length layers at the longest. Not sure what went wrong in understanding what was needed. Perhaps it was too much chatting with fellow stylists during my cut. Or a lack of experience/understanding for cutting wavy/curly hair- which has to be cut much LONGER as the recoil shortens the hair further as it dries. The layers also do not lay well - they are blunt and now its even more difficult to style. It looks like a bob- which is NOT at all what I was going for (and definitely nothing like the picture I'd shared- it had highly varied layers starting at shoulder length, and then shorter as it moved towards crown). The stylist literally removed at least 3-4 inches of hair (hair which I'd been growing out for 5+ months to get to where I wanted!) And in fact, longest layer may have actually shortened above my chin (which would be 6+ inches removed). I've never had a stylist remove so much length without confirmation or checking in. I had indicated a TRIM (which to me, does not mean removing massive length)! I went in with a cut that I loved that was a bit overgrown and needed a trim/shape up (and adding some line art to the undercut/side shave) and left with a totally butchered mane. I literally feel UGLY and honestly don't even want to see myself in the mirror now. Normally, I call my stylist and come back when I have an issue that needs adjustment. But there's no real adjustment that can fix this. You simply can't remedy over-cutting at this level- the only option that could possibly bring it right is adding back length with extensions. Which would mean shelling out 100's of additional dollars and finding yet another stylist who offers this service. Reality is I'll mostly likely just suffer with a ugly cut (and hide under lots of hats) for the next 4-6+ months or more while I wait for the awfulness to grow out. :( Maybe Bishop's is ok if you just need a run-of-the-mill, basic clipper or scissor cut without any major bells/whistles. But I'd steer clear for anything complicated, or curly/wavy hair. Will not be returning. read more

SCAMMMM!!! Beware of this place!! Don't go to this place if you don't want to get over charged than the price they quote!! Their website says that it is 250$ for 2 and half hours of Keratin Treatment!! I called them up to enquire about the treatment, price and the process! I spoke to them twice on the phone!! I got an appointment on the same day! I went in for the appointment and the front desk lady got the disclaimer form that says 330+ $ and she was saying that generally it's 250 for 2 hours, but if we go beyond 2 hours, then we will charge you 330+ $!! I was like WHAT?? You didn't tell me about this when I was on the call with you TWICE and when you took my credit card information!! And the website says 2 and half hours not 2 hours!! She was lying about the time so she could charge me $330+ She said she will check with her manager and let me know!! After talking to her manager, she said that she cannot continue with the treatment if I don't agree to pay 330+$ , God knows how much that + would be!! I told her I am not comfortable with signing and left that place!! Will never go there again!! Will tell all my friends and family to avoid this place by all means!! Been here a few times because it's around the Newcastle area, but unfortunately I've had more awkward experiences than good ones here. Just recently, one of the hair stylists Bri was reckless with how she cut my hair. She constantly turned my chair and was rough with the clippers. The short cut was fine, but she nicked me twice, one on the back of my neck and the other by my ear. Not to mention the last time I was here, I tried the shave and got nicked 4 times. The bigger issue though is that after being so rough, Bri didn't offer the complimentary rinse and hot towel finish. This happened to me once previously (maybe accidentally, not sure), but this time it was plain to see that she hoped I forgot about it just to get me out quicker. That's why I can't recommend Bishops when there's better and cheaper places in Factoria and elsewhere. read more

Bishops is a very disrespectful place with very poor customer service. I have never in my life been treated so badly and I am still wondering how such people are allowed to operate. We had a great experience with an Asian elderly service provider and went in for my son next. He was moving in to college next day and wanted to get a good haircut for him. I booked with Tony and we were about 10 mins late due to traffic and parking. Tony was busy with another customer and took another 5 mins to finish. After he was done the first thing he said looking at us was that we are late and he cannot serve us. Directly refused service. No hello nothing and this is when he was already servicing another customer until 6pm (our time was 545pm) I requested if he can take an exception and he started getting irritated that he has someone coming in now. I was surprised to see him as he is white and the person I wanted to book was the other (super nice Asian). He outrightly refused that there has been any Asian in their place for 3 years. When I mentioned we got a really good cut done 3 weeks before he admitted there is someone very new and is in only on weekends. All this while he was adopting a very rude and irritated demeanour. So I started walking out of the place and he kept saying we are late. I turned back to say he didn't have to be so rude about it and then he just shooed us out of the place and shut the door on our face!! I as really shocked by this experience and my kids were with me at the time. It was such a bad experience I don't know how someone so angry and rude is employed unless the establishment itself has this mindset of pushing customers out of their establishment. I am a resident of the area and just disappointed we have chosen to allow such people in our community I will NEVER EVER set foot in this place again. I was treating my wife to a haircut as she hasn't had one in a very long time and thoroughly researched this salon on google and it had a lot of positive reviews. Unfortunately, my wife was devastated when she returned home showing me that her hair which used to be down to her waist was now cut to just below her ears when she only and specifically asked for about 4-5 inches off MAX. She had over 9 inches taken off and now isn't even able to put up her hair. She asked for her money back the next day and the Regional Manager sent a message asking if my wife would come back in for them to fix it. There is no fixing when all the hair was chopped off. The stylist also cut the hair dry which made the end result even worse as it was uneven everywhere. The styist has no place cutting hair. My wife thoroughly explained how much she wanted to be taken off and what the hairstyle looked like that she wanted and she even showed the stylist numerous photos to show she would understand but she just didn't understand. I Just Had my 6 th time Hair cut in Bishops. Tony is my Barber. Looks like they are just interested in making money rather than loving their job and doing creative work for customer satsifaction. I Booked a Skin Fade which as per app says 30-60 min includes complimentary hot towel and shampoo but in this 6 times I never recieved that. I am no more goint to Bishops. I am giving 2 * because atleast couple of hair stylists are nice and doing justification for thier job. I have gone to Bishops a few times since I moved here. The welcoming vibe and clean place is what made me want to make this my usual. But today, I was very disappointed. Felicia was my barber. I went in for a typical fade and blend the top in. It wasn't too bad of an experience until I saw that the sides looked completely different. My right side was way too short compared to my left side. The left side didn't even blend from the hairline it was literally just a straight line and was a lot thicker than the right side. This is overpriced at $50 to get a great clips quality haircut. I am not trying to be mean but this haircut was very disappointing and also overpriced for the quality of work. I had to come back in and politely ask her to fix it, she was nice and tried to help but she blamed it on my thinning hair because of sleeping on one side which makes no sense because all my previous barbers have been able to make both sides look even. I still don't feel fully confident in my hair despite going back for a fix. I am giving this a 2 star because my last experience I believe with Tony was amazing. But this recent one with Felicia gave me 0 confidence to come back again. She does not have any attention to detail. Finally got to check out Bishops, I've been to Rudys in Bellevue and a couple other salons nearby. Bishops is very similar to Rudys but no reservation you just check-in and it will tell you wait time. Rudys is nice because you can reserve online with a particular person, so if you find a favorite you can keep going to them. The whole place was very clean and nice lighting and mirrors and hair accesories to buy, parking was decent, alot of workout classes next door so it fills up fast. ONLY tiny downside - they do charge, similar to Rudys, dependent on if you get clippers only for buzz or use scissors. So for most adults, this is totally fine, since most haircuts cost like $35 bucks and take like an hour. The downside is for KIDS. So a kid with like super long hair, like 4-5yr old, would take a long time, wash and cut etc. But a toddler, who has barely any hair, especially a boy, literally takes 10mins to cut their hair, you buzz, clip and you're done. A haircut on a toddler boy, when you know its going to be short, should just get charged the $10 buzz but with scissors used, I totally get the thinking of places like Rudys and Bishops, some kid walks in with super long hair, its going to take awhile, but you should make exceptions to the rules when its obvious a toddler is going to be in and out of the chair in 10mins, meaning you get more customers in and make more money etc. Small critique, but a costly one for some families. read more

This place was nice and fun. Free la croix and candy up front. The person that cut my hair asked me a lot of questions and was freely giving me advice I needed which I greatly appreciated. I left getting a hair moisturizer because my hair is dead. It's been a great addition to my hair regimen. I just went to this place for the first time last weekend and man, Tony was on point! He demonstrated positive customer service, with providing customer-friendly advice that allowed for me to make the decision to change my hairstyle for the first time in nearly four years! I wouldn't have changed my cut had I not had the confidence in my barber. Tony possesses 25 years of experience, and it shows with the quality of his work. This place is also fairly priced, as I used to pay $29 at Sports Clips for a hit-or-miss haircut. This place charges I believe around $34 for my style, but totally worth paying extra for a haircut if it's going to be a quality-guaranteed experience. She didn't even do layer cuts when I asked her do layer cuts at the beginning. Don't think she knows how to do haircuts. Lots of uneven cuts. I regret my appointment with Skye.
