I asked for a refund and they offered to have me come in and get it fixed. That seems like a really uncomfortable experience so I preferred a refund and would go elsewhere to get my hair fixed. I had 3 different email chains with various salon workers until Jean Tretheway got a hold of me. She proceeded to scream at me over the phone about how it was rude to get a refund because someone spent time on my hair already. (um...WHAT?!?) she also told me that my hair would grow back and then she screamed that I was not a good fit for the salon when I had frequented for years to have Hannah color my hair (Hannah was the best and did not do this haircut). Avoid Shear Design at all costs. A word of advise to the owner, Jean - the managing director of the salon - should probably be put through SEVERAL customer service trainings. During the cut, I had to ask if my hair was even, and he never showed me the sides or the back. He clearly didn't know what he was doing -- he couldn't even style it before I left. When I got home and saw it in the light, I was horrified. My hair was uneven, chopped up, and I even had bald spots. I went back hoping they'd fix it, and another stylist did what they could, but I walked out with basically a G.I. Jane haircut. Here's the worst part -- Chris never apologized. He was "too embarrassed" to say sorry, but apparently not embarrassed enough to give me the finger. The salon didn't offer a refund or any kind of compensation, just said they wouldn't charge me for fixing the damage their stylist caused in the first place. I made an appointment right before the holidays and they squeezed me in. I know it was a busy time so honestly wasn't expecting an appointment but they said they had an opening. I didn't realize they were overbooking me with another client. When I got there they explained this to me and that they probably wouldn't have time for a hair cut or I could come back later for a cut. I was already there so I figured I had no other options. I got my hair dyed then was told to come back in 2 hours to have it cut. I wasn't even offered a blow dry service and it was raining. Because I didn't want to walk around with a wet head in the middle of winter and while raining waiting 2 hours to get my hair cut, I ended up going to super cuts to get my hair cut. What a crazy experience!
