I'm happy to say that as of today, I have a new one - I am so happy with the results. When I sat in the chair, Lucy asked me what I was looking for, and said about 7-8 inches off (which was the length that she gave me), but I then asked her what she thought. She gave me her opinion, but letting me know that it was up to me. I loved her ideas. She kept the cut with what I requested, but then gave me step by step of what she thought would work...and then said why. She made sure that I was comfortable before giving me a 'dry cut,' which was a first for me. She wanted to make sure that my hair type would perform as she expected (which it did). I've never had a stylist not only do what I requested, but walked me through what she was doing and why she was doing it. I also found that Lucy not only exceeded in her craft, but was also a pleasure to talk to. She's such a kind person and so giving of her time and knowledge! I felt more pampered at Hair and Co than I have at the salons where I was used to spending 30% more on an OK hair cut. I asked for a slight arch, and there was none. Half my right brow is MISSING. It looks like I decided to shave one side of my brow off! I chose to get my hair done here because I bought a Groupon, and have never gone to a salon in Vernon Hills, so I figured I'd start here. I'm not going to lie, I checked out the Yelp reviews before booking my appointment, and when the receptionist told me I was going to have Char as my first stylist, I was nervous, because she doesn't have consistent review scores on here. Regardless, I kept my appointment, and crossed my fingers. I was nervous over nothing! CHAR WAS EXCELLENT!!! She gave me a legitimate hair consultation (not just those 30 second chats, while I'm in my chair, as she brushes my hair). Char actually sat with me at the waiting area, and then we discussed about what I wanted and did NOT want (which is extremely important to mention to any stylist) done to my hair. She payed so much attention to the little details I was telling her about, which most stylist ignore. My hair turned out better than I expected. My hair looked great when I left the salon, and even after I washed and dried it myself at home. I'm really picky when it comes to my hair, and I'm not afraid to give 1 star, but Char and Salon G really deserve 5 stars. Highly, highly recommend it!!
