I have…read moreSilhouette frames and after my eye exam, I ordered 4 sets of lenses for 4 frames. initially I ordered one pair, and before knowing that I was going to order add lenses, the optician who was dealing with me, told me that my newer frame wasn't good enough to use again. That was my cue to take my business elsewhere...but I didn't. Interestingly, when I ordered additional lenses and spending a lot more, those frames became usable again. I spent $3,300. on 4 sets of lenses. I'm happy with 1 pair, which thankfully are my daily glasses and the only pair that I ordered that had no changes to the shape or colour. The only pair that was exactly what I ordered. One out of four. I wanted an orange tint, but I got rose tinted instead. I ordered plain rectangle reading glasses, but got designer lenses and paid $300. more than I was quoted. I still don't know why! I asked the optician for a breakdown of my readers, I wanted to know why they cost that much more. I received an email with the invoices for my glasses with no explanation. I then asked the supervisor the same. I received more questions from her. I still have no idea why I paid $300. more for designer readers that I didn't order and don't like! But because they are readers that I grossly overpaid for, I'm leaving them as is. The rose tinted lenses and the sunglasses are not what I wanted and so I'll be spending another $2000. maybe less because this place is pricey, somewhere else to get what i want. No accountability, poor communication, pricey. They've lost 30+ years of my business and I can't in good conscience recommend spending your hard earned money here.

The inside is classy and has a somewhat decent selection. The owner (looks like a 1 man show) is friendly and chatty. I was able to get my stuff done, and the product was delivered on time. The paperwork, however, was a totally different story. Several errors were made, and the place was having fax/printer issues. Instead of getting my paperwork through email, I had to physically go back. When I picked up the paperwork and found it was done incorrectly, I had to come back again to get it fixed. The 2nd time around, the paperwork had a different error, which now necessitated a 3rd visit. This put a huge dent in my overall experience, and was honestly quite a waste of time. This place seriously needs a fax machine and working printer.

My question is why I not had a complete fundus, 90 D and cycloplegic examination? I realise I went to an optical which is budget conscious, but I would expect an examination which could detect eye health issues if found. My husband has spent over 25 years in eyecare. He is very surprised the optometrist did not perform any of these and as I am over 60, he suspects there may be cataract formation. Whilst performing the slit lamp examination, the optometrist did not even notice I had previous refractive surgery. When the time came for measurements, the optician measured heights and pupillary distance manually. There was no use of pupilometer. When glasses arrived, the lenses on both sets were incorrect. As a result, I had to wait to get them again. I will likely have to undergo another examination to determine my eyes are healthy. I will go to another optometrist to fill that need. I do enjoy my new frames and my vision, but the examination was very subpar. When I picked up my glasses and subsequent sunglasses, there was no fitting. I was simply asked to out them in to check the sight. After going home,my glasses continued to fall off . Now the lens is scratched. If you want an inexpensive pair of glasses then Superstore is a great option. After going to Superstore for an inexpensive option was not worth it for me. I would prefer a proper exam with an Optometrist who is not in a rush and wants their patient to be happy and heard. Looks like they carry a decent selection, including safety glasses. I've also had an eye exam done here before and they definitely have some state of the art equipment. I usually have a coffee while waiting. The eye exams are thorough and Optometrist is wonderful with kids. My daughter loves leaving with a sticker of her favorite cartoon.
