My family took me here for Father's Day's. I wanted to try a new place. I went in and the place looks nice. Not a huge place but a decent size. There were about 3-4 tables being served and the World Cup was on the TV. We were a party of six so we had to wait a bit to be seated. That night believe it or not it was one waiter for the whole restaurant. The menu has your typical Indian dishes and like usual the food was good. The only thing that bothered me was that I asked for a ginger ale and that brought me a small can out the box in the back. No glass, no ice. It's wasn't 99 cent either. Would I go back. Visited them recently on the weekend for their buffet. The place was slow to begin but then picked up later in the afternoon. The quality of the meats was excellent and the flavors well balanced and moderately spiced. The naans brought to the table were also above par. Nice clean, space with comfortable seating. Fish, chicken, and goat options meant that you had plenty of meat options. There were some vadas and pakoras in the apps and a good tandoori chicken and a soup too. At 23$ this was par for the course and worthy of a revisit. read more

My husband and I (sorta) joked that this place was going to be a winner since we were the only non-Indian patrons there. That says something. Did not have a good experience. I waited 10 mins for some water, another then for a waiter. No printed menus - everything on the phone which is a deal breaker for me I would prefer a printed menu. Service was mediocre and slow and not pleasant. Not polite I felt like I was inconveniencing them by asking for a menu. I left and went to Palace of Asia 8 mins away. And I am glad I did. Very disappointed, but glad I did not spend the money and was unhappy. Eating out is costly. read more

Went back to Haldi today and it was wonderful!! Staff was friendly and attentive, food was delicious and timely. Much better service than the other week, so I am glad I went back. Highly recommend for a beautiful and delicious Indian meal. As always the restaurant was beautiful. read more

We have been coming here since the first day they opened. , Tonight will be the last time. We were the first people to sit down. We only ordered two items and two orders of naan. The service was horrendous. Everyone that came after us was receiving plate after plate after plate of food and we just sat there. Finally, one of our dishes came out, so my friend had to eat his by himself while I still waited for my food. About 35 minutes before we were going to leave I placed an order for an appetizer to go. It was not ready for about an hour. I'm absolutely exhausted. I cannot believe how bad the service has gotten in this place first the owner came out and apologized and blamed everything on the waiter then he came out and said it was because of the oven? This did not make sense because everyone else was getting all of their food and we just sat there. I'm so happy to finally be home really unfortunate- everything for our table was second class even the bags they gave us for takeout were the crappy bags unlike everyone else whom got these really nice to go bag bags... they're just bags I understand -however it's spoke volumes to how we were treated... read more

They have now transformed into a buffet instead of thali for lunch. The buffet experience has been consistently sub par. The Chafing dishes are constantly empty and have to remind the staff to refill them. There is a long wait to receive the bread and during one of the instances, there was one dessert and it was chocolate mousse (just that), which is a strange dessert to expect at an Indian buffet. The price point is pretty high for the number of items in the buffet and service they provide. Between the poor service and waiting for items to get refilled, I would not recommend the lunch buffet here. read more

Everything was great! We ordered 3 entrees to get a more varied sampling of their offerings! We had started with Paneer Kaju Roli (Cashew Roll) that was served with a delightful sauce! For our entrees we ordered the Veg Kolhapuri, the Malai Methi. Murgh (Creamy Fenugreek Chicken) and Hyderabadi Ghosh Shorba (Hyderabad Mutton Curry). We were adventurous and got them all a 4 out of 5 on the spicy scale and were not disappointed. We accompanied them with the Garlic Naan which was great! For our dessert, we shared their Apricot Delight which was also delicious! While there, we saw many other interesting dishes going out to the other patrons - looking forward to another visit to try some of them! Maybe we'll come back to experience their Thali on the weekend (served 11:00 to 2:45) or their weekday lunch buffet that is served Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 to 3:00 beginning on July 23! Great atmosphere and ambiance! Everything was clean and very modern! However, the food was not of my family's preference. We do not like chicken thighs - and there is not a single dish on the menu with chicken breast! Also- my dad and grandfather really wanted to have dosas but the machine was broken. If you have a preference for chicken thighs and very spicy Indian food, this is the place for you! The manager was very nice and offered to take a group picture at the end of our meal. I really want to like this place because it really has potential and we need a good Indian restaurant in Moorestown. I've been here twice. First time was their first day. Second time was today about a month later. Food is 5 out of 10. First time, we ordered veg & non-veg thali and masala dosa. Vegetarian thali was really good and we asked for seconds. Non-veg was ok. It was lacking taste and was a bit bland. I expected Dosa to be very good as it's a South Indian restaurant. The dosa was a bit thick and cold the first time. I figured it's their first day and could be a little hectic. However, when I went back the dosa looked smaller and dosa was once again cold and old. It was premade and served. The second time I went I asked for a fresh one and the manager was very kind and did get a replacement and was much better. I get that everything can be perfect but a dosa should be perfect at a South Indian restaurant. I shouldn't have to send it back and ask for a fresh one. Service is 7/10. They have enough staff but there is lack in training and some language barrier. The good servers are overlooking the new servers without much guidance. For instance when we ordered a thali they didn't ask (maybe due to language barrier) what bread option we wanted and then we didn't receive anything. So when we asked that's when an experienced server stepped in to help. The owners are available, attentive, and willing to make it a pleasurable dining experience. Ambiance 10/10. It's a very nicely decorated Indian restaurant. Noise level is to a minimum. Restaurant looks clean and pleasing to the eye. Color combinations are blended in well with tasteful lighting. Again, it has lots of potential. I hope they do well. We will return in another months or so with hope that they have done some tweaking. Good luck to them. read more

Our Family did takeout from Haldi for Father's Day. This was our first time trying this new Indian restaurant. We were loyal customers of Monsoon, the previous restaurant in that space. We were so pleased, everything tasted fresh, vibrant and interesting!!!. Great for our family because we are vegetarian and there were many options for us to try! I've been on a search to find a new Indian food place since my favorite spot is no longer open. This place was a huge disappointment. We ordered the Butter Paneer and the cubes were hard, rubbery and over cooked. The gravy was also underwhelming. We ordered Kashmiri Naan and that was completely empty inside. The Spinach Chaat tasted like a taco bowl it was overly hard and crunchy like a hard taco shell with a bunch of shredded cheese on it. The Gulab Jamun was one big tough burnt ball! The only thing that tasted decent was the Fish Curry and the Carrot Halwa. Also the portion size is ok but the rice ratio to saucy entree is also barely enough. The pricing could be considered fair if all the food was good and prepared and served properly. However $10 for an empty circle of bread that should be stuffed with fruit and nuts.....no! Paying $10 for a burnt dessert no! AND paying $18 for sauce and cubes of rubber is also a NO!!!!! It came up to a little over $85 for the entire meal (2 entrees, 2 desserts, 1 naan and one appetizer). The restaurant is neatly maintained and the service was good. However, the quality of food has gone down. We went for afternoon buffet lunch on a Saturday. The items were very salty and the quality of meat is not good. The appetizers dried out because of sitting in the warmers for a long time. I went with some friends the day we opened. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good. Nice relaxed atmosphere too. I ordered the Palaak Paneer. It tasted different (different recipes), but was very good. The spice level was a lot for my friends, who actually eat spicy food. If you're not used to much spice, be sure to ask when you order!!!! Had a wonderful birthday dinner here not long after they opened in the old Monsoon location. Very tastefully decorated and very welcoming staff. The menu has a number of items you don't usually see on local Indian restaurant menus, including an interesting selection of beverages and an entire selection of chaats. I had an am panna to drink which was unusual and refreshing, and pani puri chaat as an appetizer, with a South Indian style shrimp curry. The rest of the family had samosas, mango lassis, and fish curry, malai kofta and goat biryani, all of which they enjoyed. You can request a spice level of anywhere from 1=mild to 3=Indian spicy. My shrimp was 2, which still had plenty of heat. Good selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian items in both appetizers and main dishes. I definitely want to come back and try some of the other menu items, including tandoori grilled pomfret and falooda under the desserts. Highly recommend. read more
