Upon walking in this place is decorated with warm tones and is very relaxing, in the afternoon there are candles on the table and the service was spectacular. We ordered from the lunch menu and each of us was full! From the garlic naan through mango lassie we ate goat, lamb, chicken tiki masala, butter chicken, paneer and chana. You have got to stop in. One of the best Indian restaurants in South Jersey for sure; the reviews here are legit and well deserved. Had dinner for three with my parents who were in town from Florida and the service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. We went with their suggestion of the Achari Chicken which was fantastic and very unique. The Palak Paneer was a step above any other NJ Indian restaurant, which is saying something. And the Pani Puri starter was probably the best we've ever had in the states. The hot spice level was perfect for us as well. Went to attempt to have dinner here tonight and there must be newer owners since I've last been but the place was "off". We entered and were ignored while a large man was on the phone at the counter and literally just looked at us and let us continue standing there. Several people came out of the kitchen and ignored us too. We still waited thinking well they do have a few full tables. Eventually we are seated (not by large guy on the phone who continues to just looked at us, no welcoming smile, nod nothing). Anyway, we sit down get one menu so I had to ask for an additional one, got water and that's it. For such a longtime. Dude at the counter did nothing, I kept trying to give it time but when a worker walked out the kitchen big dude told him to check on a table way on the other side of the restaurant but not us. We also noted that there's a new "cash price" on the menus versus a credit card price charging you their 3% fees. Well you're a business and you accept credit cards that's not my fee. Regardless, we tried sticking it out only to continue to be ignored so we got up and left. Not even while we were getting up was anything said. It will be our last visit and we will make to tell all of our friend who e we've introduced to Nimit about the changes in service. That place used to treat you like you were visiting a real Palace but now it's all about looks and nothing else. I'd NEVER step for in there again with all the other Indian restaurants to frequent like Coriander where you're treated like family. NEVER again. We found this amazing gem on Google and decided to give it a try. The woman who answered the phone when I called to make a reservation was so polite and kind. We showed up a little early and was greeted with such joy and enthusiasm, that set the tone for the night! We asked a few questions about the menu and our server explained everything to us, along with the fan favorites, and of course chef recommendations. We had some time to look over the menu and we ordered chicken samosa for appetizer and for dinner we ordered chicken tikka and afghani style tandoori chicken. I will always love the food here. But my most recent experience was a little bit off putting. Their friendly staff verged on car salesman tactics to push for upgraded, more expensive options. Kids just wanted water but then all of a sudden, gets offered to let them taste their new smoothie. That taste ends up an extra $10 for 2 small glasses. They push you to add appetizers which we reluctantly agreed. Then they kept suggesting side dishes even after you politely say no thanks. To be nice, we agreed to add roti. I ordered some Meat Samosas (nicely seasoned and very similar to what I've had elsewhere), Butter Chicken aka Chicken Makhani (Flavorful enough, but could've used an extra kick spicewise..I ordered it spicy too), Chicken Saag - boneless chicken mixed with creamed spinach & Curry (Pretty good, but not spectacular), Lasooni Gobi (something I've never tried before - very interesting: Fried batter coated Cauliflower tossed in a garlic sauce. Pretty darn good. I'd get it again) and finally Regular and Garlic Naan - both good as I expected. A little pricey and not nearly enough basmati rice for the dishes I ordered. 2nd time eating here. Came with two coworkers for lunch. The boss Paul was super friendly and accommodating. We ordered the veggie jumbo platter to share. The samosa had a crispy pastry exterior and the filling had a kick to it. The pakora had a nice crisp and it was well seasoned. I ordered the lunch special for $8.99 and got chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, with naan and rice. Got the Medium spice level and it definitely had some heat to it. Everything came out fresh and hot! The naan was freshly made because it was piping hot and tasted great. Best chicken tikka masala I've had in a long time. It's been a good few years since we last ate here, so time for an update IN THE YEAR OF THE PANDEMIC. Currently only outdoor dining or take out is allowed, so it was nice to see a few tables set out in the walkway. Nice that we were protected from the sun. We took advantage of the lunch specials, available even on the weekends. 1. We were served bottled water, which was a disappointment since I hate to see plastic bottles. I should have asked why, but I didn't. My bad. I forgot to check the receipt if we were charged extra for it. 2. You have your choice of different lunch specials that range in price, depending on the protein and veggies. 3. Staff were very nice and attentive, checking in with us all the time. 4. We did not feel rushed - very pleasant experience. 5. Starter - we all enjoyed somosas with its great sauces.
