It town on businesses and felt like something different. It was a nice change of pace from the usual places I go. The menu has a wide variety of options, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I ordered the garlic naan and the chicken tikka masala. The naan was good, but the garlic flavor was lighter than I expected -- it was there, just not enough. The tikka masala had solid flavor, but it was a bit short on chicken and heavy on onions. Service was quick and friendly, though. I have eaten at this restaurant about 10 times now and the flavors are so rich and complex it is amazing. Great food and reasonable prices. Staff is friendly. I mostly get take out so I will leave the ambiance part out. Highly recommend. Last night we got Chana masala, Palak paneer, tandori chicken and go I Manchurian. And some garlic naan. All the dishes were super flavorful and delicious. I got mild on all but one and the spice was perfect. I can do spice but Indian spice can be way too hot for me. read more

Had lunch here with friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon meal. Service was friendly, helpful and on top of things - such as keeping our water glasses full. They also offered water room temperature or with ice. The place itself was nicely decorated. They put wallpaper on the walls, covered the chairs with fabric and put contact paper on the tables, all to give it a nicer, dressier look. The food itself was very good; Crispy, spicy and seasoned well. The chicken tikka masala not pictured was very good. I was visiting the area for work and found Ruchi in my dinner search...so glad I gave it a try because it was hands down the best Indian I've had in a very long time! I live in an area of western NY with many decent Indian options, but most cater to American palates and are very sweet and lack spice. Not Ruchi. All sauces had plenty of spice and heat and the meats were all tender and flavorful. The masala dosa I ordered was perfectly cooked and the sambar was so flavorful I could had just eaten that and been satisfied. I will definitely be back!! read more

I came here for dinner with three of my friends and we waited about half an hour to be seated. The restaurant is very understaffed, and there was only one person waitressing, so it was hard to get water refills and noticed by her when we wanted something. However, most of the dishes we ordered were delicious. You should definitely order dishes and share if you are in a group - we did family style. We ordered the Paneer Samosas as an appetizer, which were smaller than expected, but pretty good (but nothing special). Some of my favorites: 1. Garlic Naan: garlicky, crusty, and chewy; you can't go wrong (and it's a must to take advantage of all the sauces!) 2. Saag Paneer: this was amazing. The paneer is soft and the sauce is flavorful, not spicy, and delicious. 3. Chicken Tikka Masala: can't go wrong with this - it was creamy with the perfect balance of tomato. The chicken was a little dry, but the sauce made up for it. Some dislikes: 1. Chicken Biryani: the rice was wayyy too soggy and because of this, it was unappetizing. It was also spicier than expected. However, the chicken was moist and there were lots of large chunks. 2. Chicken Korma: this was a house special, so I expected more, but it was just alright. I didn't love the flavors in the sauce, but the chicken was also tender in this. Prices are alright for the amount of food that you get. This time we ordered 2 items we weren't familiar with - dosas ( similar to giant dry crepes - the helpful staff mentioned it's usually ordered for breakfast) and palak paneer (cheese that looks like tofu in a spinach sauce). Pretty much loved all the different condiments and sauces provided. Everything was nice. I thought the chicken biryani was very dry and not as tasty as others I've had. We liked it here. I know some of the earlier reviews complained about service but we went on a sat evening and service was great. The food came out quickly. The ambiance was nice and clean. The chair covers were a bit uncomfortable, you kinda feel like you're sliding off. I liked the onion spinach pakora. The chicken tikka masala was good although I wish it was not so sweet? My husband really liked the Ruchi Spl Goat Korma (not pictured). One suggestion is if there could be a description of the dishes somewhere please for folks like us who still have a lot to learn about Indian food? There was so much we didn't know on the menu and we tried google searching what the dishes were. So that's why I ended up with the tikka masala heh heh. I had the non-vegetarian Thali for lunch, which was delicious. There was good variety and good amount of food and good quality. I also ordered food to go including Tandoori Chicken, Methi Chicken and Naan. All of which were delicious. Great place! Wife mad at me so I got to order some takeout - I got the lamb Vindaloo, garlic naan and Charminar Chili Paneer for the appetizer. I know, too much food but it smelled SO good in there. First off, medium spiciness here is similar to any other Indian place. So was the Naan- standard naan. Which is good. The Paneer was recommended by the hostess. Good choice! Paneer not too heavy and the sauce was very good. Red peppers and chilis. Very good. The Vindaloo was the star of this meal. Lots of lamb in there, big potatoes, and a wonderful flavor. I've eaten a lot of Vindaloo in my travels, and I think this is my favorite. I forgot to ask for rice but it was included. When I got home, the wife mentioned how good the dinner smelled. We often carry out from Ruchi, but today we are at the restaurant. The food was delicious, as always. One of the people in our party had a dosa filled with the Manchurian Gobi (cauliflower) - it was huge and incredibly tasty. We also had spinach paneer, the spinach and onion pakora, a chicken dish and a mutton dish - all of it incredible! The servers were so helpful in answering questions and also very pleasant. It was a Saturday night and we got in right before a big rush of people, but the food came out quickly. I know we will be back over and over. read more

Here's a review by an Indian individual who knows what authentic North Indian food should taste like! The real North Indian food is not prepped or served the way this place does. Everything we had was absolute garbage, a colossal waste of money and ingredients. Bhindi was prepared in sauce - an absolute no no! Yellow Daal was watery and had sambhar flavor - horrid. Their Biryani was awful too. Their food will get more than 1 star from those who do not really know North Indian food... Tip: This place is a South Indian establishment owned by a South Indian person, and should only serve South Indian food. I love Indian food. Normally I go for the Butter Paneer and Kashmiri naan. I noticed this place in my Google search and it had good reviews. It was also closer than my usual spot so we decided to try it. I ordered the Butter Paneer, the Butter naan since they didn't have my fav. My husband ordered an eggplant dish and the fried cauliflower appetizer. I also ordered a pudding like dessert with crushed cashews in it. The food was just ok. However my naan was burnt and I didn't appreciate that because they had to have seen it when they put it in my bag. A lot of places will include it with your meal but in the case you pay for it separately which really ticked me off and that couple with the food just being ok is why I only gave two stars. read more

Can't say anything that everyone else hasn't already said, the food was excellent. Perfectly prepared and flavorful. Service was quick and efficient. There were many items on the menu that I haven't seen at other places, but they also had the classics, and I had a safe chicken korma. It was very good and nothing unusual. For variety I tried a different bread than usual, Chana Bhatura. It's a soft fried puffy dough what's a little different texture than the usual naan, served with a cup of Chana Masala, with bits of finely diced onion and a bit of tomato on top. It makes a great dip for the bread and has a strong flavor. Atmosphere is okay. It's a small place in a strip mall, and the strip mall is maybe a little tired looking. But the restaurant itself is clean and bright. Nothing fancy. read more

Great option for South Indian cuisine, which is less prevalent than northern cuisine in this area. Dosa was huge and crispy with tasty sauces to accompany. We also enjoyed Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, and Chicken Chettinad Curry. The rice is quite flavorful on its own too. It's BYOB so we brought some wine. The hubby and I went last night on a Friday night. I am so mixed on this restaurant but decided that the food was so incredibly delicious that it overshadows the negatives. The good: samosas with the perfect crispy dough and tasty potato/pea filling; butter chicken that may have been the BEST I've ever had; chicken tikka masala with an amazing sauce; and the garlic naan was just perfect, not enough, but what was there was perfect. The bad: service was sooooo slow from beginning to end. I was going to order more naan but forget about it, the poor waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I gave up on that and the dessert I was looking at because I didn't want to be sitting there for another hour. I think that once they get the kinks out this place will be amazing. I'm willing to wait for it and you should too. The man at the cash register apologized for the service issues, so they are aware, and he was so sweet and charming about it. This is the second time we ate here. We did dine in this time. Saturday noon to 1pm. Not busy at all, only one other couple was there. We had 2 vegetarian entrees. Food was excellent. Moderate portions. Staff was very nice and our server asked what spice level we wanted (medium). It was November and it was a little cooler in there than I would have liked. We kept our coats on. One menu note is they do have a lunch special Tuesday to Friday only. I knocked off one star because the chairs have cloth covers and the one I was about to sit on had oil spots and food remnants. Walking in, looks like a normal Indian restaurant with the exception of buffet tables. Sitting down, Minnue (our waitress), offered us tap or bottled water. She also made sure to carefully monitor our needs like refilling our water or teas or replacing utensils and plates. She took our orders after explaining our questions on the menu and she even delivered our food in order (appetizer to dishes to desserts). This is so unlike most Indian restaurants that deliver as soon as it's made. This restaurant's spice level matches what south asians can relate to. Medium would be too hot for average Americans and extra spicy would probably be toxic. We ordered medium spice for most of the dishes. Out of the many dishes that were ordered, my favorites include Samosa Chat, Andhra Chicken Kura, and Pista Phimi. Samosa Chat had a kick to it without overwhelming the rest of it's delicious flavors. The Andura Chicken Kura was tangy and succulent. The curry went well with provided rice. The Pista Phimi tasted like a combination of crushed pistachios and condensed milk. Wasn't overly sweet yet every bite was a delight. Definitely in my top 5 desserts ever! This restaurant gives even the best Edison restaurants a run for their money. read more

We got take out but we picked up the food and it was so nice, bright, and clean inside. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, methi chicken, ruchi paneer appetizer (medium spice), and garlic naan. Chicken dishes came with rice. Everything was delicious! Packed very nicely for takeout and smelled amazing. Paneer and methi chicken had good spice but not too much for us. Highly recommend!
