Palace of Asia is located off Route 38 in Maple Shade, minutes away from the Cherry Hill Mall and Moorestown. While it doesn't look like much from the outside, interiors are very classy, with tasteful decor and a koi pond. While I am a regular at their Hamilton location, I didn't have high hopes that this location could match the quality as it's difficult to replicate recipes for ethnic foods between restaurant locations, but the Maple Shade location serves up equally delicious and high quality food. A bonus is that it serves up traditional North Indian cuisine, as almost every other Indian restaurant in the area has menus that are more noticeably centered around South Indian cuisine, which utilize different recipes despite an overlap in some of the dishes offered. We started off with an order of onion pakoras (4/5). While they are a bit larger than those served at other Indian restaurants, they are well above average in quality and a great way to start off a meal. For meals, we went with the paneer masala and navratan korma. Both dishes were served in a generous portion filled to the rim of the serving bowls. The paneer masala (5/5) was prepared to perfection with just the right amount of spice and delectable tomato-based gravy, and among the best I've had among Indian restaurants in New Jersey. The navratan korma (5/5) was also flavorful and delicious with a nice medley of vegetables. The butter naan (4.5/5) was delicious and fluffy, just the way I like it, although a tiny corner of it was a bit overdone (didn't detract from the taste of it). Service (5/5) by Anil was excellent, as he was warm and friendly throughout the meal, checking in on us to ask if we needed additional rice or anything else. I'll definitely be returning to this Palace of Asia location and would happily recommend them to others looking for quality North Indian cuisine in the Maple Shade/Cherry Hill area. read more

I am a regular here for a reason--Palace of Asia is hands down the best dining experience in Maple Shade! If you go, you HAVE to ask for Neil. He provides top-tier service every single time (we always joke that us bald guys have to stick together! ‍). He makes you feel like family. Now, let's talk strategy. You have to start with the appetizers: the Samosas, Fish Pakora, and Mixed Tandoori Grill are absolute must-haves to get things going. They have a massive selection of vegetarian dishes--my personal favorites are the Malai Kofta and the Navratan Korma (the royal dish of India). But don't worry, they cover all the bases with amazing fish, chicken, beef, and lamb dishes, too. (You can't go wrong with the Chicken Makhani/Butter Chicken). They take customization seriously here--spice levels range from Mild all the way up to 'Indian Hot' if you're brave enough! Wash it all down with a Mango Lassi. I placed an order online. At pickup, the employee quoted me $7.00 more than what the bill should be. I showed her my copy of my order. She stated that they made you the meal size of the paneer tikka. What a cool and beautiful restaurant. As soon as you walk in the front doors there is a large Koi pond with HUGE Koi in it, my boys love to come here and watch the fish while we wait for our food. The service is always prompt and very polite. This was my husband's first time trying Indian and he enjoyed everything he tried. We tried quite a few dishes and all were delicious, chicken tikka masala and chili paneer being our top favorites. They make delicious lassi's, I went with the classic Mango. Garlic naan was ordered for the table which was very garlicky and & I loved it. The tikki masala was a masterpiece with an 8 amount of spice and the white rice to compliment it. A decent amount was served on the plate so I had enough for 2 more sittings once I took it home. Everyone ordered a variety of other dishes and they were quite impressed, as well since this was all of our 1st time visiting the place. I LOVE everything I've ever been served at Palace of Asia. Their food is authentic and delicious. The dinner buffet menu on Wednesday nights has so many options from appetizers to desserts. The Naan is fresh. I can't help but to fill my plate with as many different things as I can every time I come here: tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, daal makhani. The chicken and lamb are tender. There's also nothing like topping off your meal with their delicious Gulab Jamun. Palace of Asia is also byob. The most impressive part of Palace of Asia though isn't even the quality of food or the reasonable prices. My brother used to be a vegan for years. I brought him to the buffet one night and he asked what buffet options he'd be able to eat. The staff was so accommodating that they actually personally made him food that otherwise was not on the buffet menu. I think this is my favorite restaurant in the area! My friend originally took me here and I'm so glad he did. Since then I've come back multiple times and recommend this place highly to others. It's just off Route 38 and to be honest with you the outside appearance leaves much to be desired. It's very rundown looking. However, that immediately changes once you step inside. It's quite the grand interior with large booths, a fish pond, tall ceilings, bar seating, and smaller tables. It felt like I was immediately transported to a completely opposite world. Also, the staff is very nice here! I once lost my credit card and they kept it for me for when I returned a few days later. Also... now this is just a small thing, but I was very impressed by how soft their carpet was. It's noticeable as soon as you step onto it. So once you've been seated, you'll be quite surprised at how large their menu is. I haven't had a single bad thing here and I've had multiple appetizers and entrees and desserts. Seriously, everything tastes so right. But better than that is the fair pricing. They give you so much food for such an appropriate price. Off their menu I recommend the garlic naan, biryani, and a handful of the appetizers whose names I forget. Their Kentucky Derby pie dessert does not sound appetizing, but it is. The food was fresh and so full of flavor! I was really glad it was authentic and not tailored down. We had the marinated lamb chops and the appetizer assortment for two since we could not decide what to order there were so many choices! The mango chutney was excellent and went very well with the lamb although it does have to be ordered separately. I picked up food from here today, i ordered goat curry and garlic naan. They only had 3 options for spice level and i got spicy. Its was too spicy. My fiancé was crying and my nose was running. It was too spicy to really taste the flavor. The goat was a little tough for me. The garlic naan was thicker than im used to and it wasn't as flavorful as ive had in the past. This was my first time here and ive lived in the area for 18 years. I wanted to try a new place, im not sure if i would go back. It's quite lucky that I found a place with an inexpensive lunch buffet AND punjab style indian food on the first try! Coming in 20 minutes before the end of the buffet, we almost didn't expect to be allowed, but the waitress left the food out until the last minute and even let us know she would leave dessert out for us! Was there for lunch today with two of my friends. They have tandoori grill, which comes with rice and naan. Why would you serve that? What people will eat with naan or rice? This is a great Indian Restaurant that we found two years ago. The service is very good and the food is of the highest quality. The portions are much larger in tandoori pots (about twice as large) than some other restaurants in Brick that we also visited. The naan is very tasty and reasonably priced. The basmati rice is so fresh, so light and so flavorful that it makes us come back time and time again for more. We drive 1 hour each way just to get here and enjoy the food. We normally get Chicken Curry and Chicken Tikka Marsala with some Naan and dipping sauces. They give a generous amount of dipping sounds but one minus is that they do not have an onion chutney that me and my wife love so much. If you love Indian Cuisine I highly recommend this restaurant to you and your family. It is always quiet, peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. And if you want more serenity, there is even a fish pond in the middle of the restaurant that you can look at and admire the beauty of all the fish swimming there. I came here with my parents and their friend this past Wednesday night. It seemed like buffet night, but I didn't really want a buffet so we did 2 buffet plates and also ordered food to the table. Buffet was pretty basic, and if you like quality food over quantity, buffet is not the way to go. We ordered 2 entrees - Paneer Makhani & Palak Paneer (both vegetarian & nut-free) with 2 breads - Onion Kulcha & Paneer Kulcha. Palak Paneer will always be a staple to any Indian restaurant you go to. Almost everywhere it tastes the same. However, what won me over was the Paneer Makhani. SO DELICIOUS. I love Indian food and don't eat it nearly as much as I would like to. So, I got pretty excited when I discovered this restaurant was just a short drive from my office. I convinced a couple of coworkers to come here for lunch one day to see what it was all about. The best thing about PoA is by far the restaurant itself. It is large, spacious and beautifully decorated (there's a fountain at the entrance if that's any indication on it's size). The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, this is where the great part ends and the mediocrity starts. The temperature inside was extremely uncomfortable, similar to walking down the frozen food aisle of the grocery store (this is coming from someone who doesn't typically get cold) which made it difficult to fully enjoy your meal. This may have been overlooked if the food was great, but sadly it fell flat. I am no expert on Indian food but I've had it enough times with some of my friends who are to know what's good and what's not. The lunch buffet for $12 isn't a bad deal for the amount of food that you can choose from; however, the food was just ok. After sampling several dishes, everything tasted heavy on cream, light on spice and watered down. I judge my Indian restaurants pretty hard on the naan and even that was a bit underwhelming - super thin and not very warm. If this is your fist time eating Indian, then you might want to give Palace a go as the flavors aren't too strong (the main reason I enjoy Indian food so much). If you're looking for bold flavors and spice, you should look elsewhere. read more

Just ordered Lunch for delivery: chicken entree $19, vegetarian entree $18, a fee sides and 1 extra sauce, totalling $80 including tip, tax and delivery. Vegetable dish completely missing and of course no extra sauce. Called the restaurant and spoke with 2 employees who tried to argue with me. I typically head over to Voorhees/ Stratford area for good Indian but since we're in Cherry Hill we figured why pay $10 in delivery fees when we can just drive over. We ordered 2 Chicken tikka Masala, 1 curry Chicken, and a galic Naan, I was told 30 minutes. We show up, 30 minutes later, they tell us they forgot our order and will need to make it. We get our food head back to the office and it was cold. We had to heat it all up. One of masala's was supposed to be spice and the other mild, they were both spicy. It was not flavorful at all. Nothing tasted authentic. It literally tasted like heavy cream, tomato sauce, chili powder. $56 bucks later, we're left disappointed and annoyed.
