She was sighing whole time when she was treating my back molar saying it's difficult, at the same time, she was chatting to the male assistant about his future plan or whatever not related to the treatment on and off. After the treatment, my pain did not go away, so I ended up going to endodontist. I understand that sometimes nobody know until you open it up. When I went back to her for crown after the root canal was done and told her that endodontist clearly saw the infection in Xray where she didn't see when I went back to her for the pain, she said endodontists always says that and get root canal done. The way she communicates with patients is not pleasant. However, I was still going there (my mistake) because the hygenist was attentive, but I'm not going back there anymore after this time that she said I definitely have a cavity under the existing crown. I doubted her ability so I got second opinion. I notified the second opinion doctor about her dignosis so he can throughly checked the part, but after he took another X rays and did through exam, he said it was discoloration and the tooth is solid, just the crown should be changed in 6mo or so because it's old and not covering the entire area, but not the cavity. I do not trust the second opinion doctor 100% either but based on my experience before, I do not trust her.

Like many patients, price factors in greatly when managing our dental costs. Fortunately, Delta Dental listed Rancho Dental as a provider. We felt that by no means "cheap", the prices we paid for the care we received were always fair. We have had a lot of work done at his "one dentist office" over the years. Disappointingly, after a return call from his office today, we now find ourselves priced out of his care and no longer valued as patients. After a quote by two other offices the front desk referred my wife to a year or so ago for surgical removal of an abscessed tooth and a subsequent implant and crown, tipping the scales at $7500 (the marble flooring WAS nice though), we found, through friends, a dentist across the border in Tijuana. The facilities and equipment were every bit as sanitary as we'd get here, the work was comparable, and the prices were easily half and in some cases a third the cost. The drawback is the time factor and MX driving, but for the savings, it's incidental (no pun intended). Today, after making an appointment for my wife with Dr Rische for a tooth ache, I was informed in a call back from the front office, "Angela", that our business was only welcome on the condition that if the tooth in question needed a root canal and subsequent crown, (we could choose any endodontist for the RC), we would be expected to have the crown (or filling) done by Dr Rische. This before any exam was performed. We've had our share of crowns done by Dr Rische over the years, the 5-year warranty was generous, and always accepted the $500 or $600 copay our insurance provided for and still does. Those days unfortunately are gone. The cost I was quoted at Rancho Dental was around $1500 for a zirconium crown on a molar which is all the Dr. now offers. I'm sure it's a top-quality job and wish I could afford it, I would. As my wife and I both were in the office the past couple of weeks for check-ups for pain, my wife for a tooth which the Dr referred her to an endodontist for, and I for pain which apparently (unbeknownst to me) was related to a surgical extraction of an implant and subsequent bone graft at the site (performed by our dentist in TJ), the front office implied that we were taking advantage of their services, stating we'd get an exam then go somewhere 'cheaper' to have the work done. IOW, rather than getting an exam which might or might not be related to work another dentist had performed, the idea of us going to another dentist for major work meant we were taking advantage of their office. Nothing could be further from the truth. I explained that we had no idea what was causing us pain and went for the exams in good faith. It never occurred to me that all along we were viewed as just a credit card not as valued patients needing care, after spending what must be thousands of $ over the years. This was a 'preemptive' call we received from the front office who, because they didn't make enough money from our past two visits, now didn't want to take a chance on not making any more from my wife's discomfort at her appointment tomorrow. No conversation about financial assistance or any desire for a conversation at all, only [sic] "if you're going to go elsewhere to have major work done rather than pay our prices, you're better off going elsewhere for everything." Wow. Leaves me with a gnawing in my gut at the tactless hard sell response to longtime customers who always acted in good faith with loyalty, courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, those values mean little at Rancho Dental.

I paid an exorbitant $6,000 for a bridge in 2023, with half covered by my dental insurance and the remaining of $3,000 still being paid off through Care Credit. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Within the first week, the new bridge cracked, forcing me to endure more hours of drilling and the humiliation of wearing a temporary bridge while waiting for a replacement. After yet another installation, the bridge fell off again a year later. This has made me feel as though I purchased a defective product. When I brought my concerns to Dentist Haldy's attention, requesting at least a partial refund or assistance with my Care Credit balance, he dismissed my request and had his dental assistant finish the work without addressing my complaints. To make matters worse, the assistant refused to engage with me about my legitimate concerns and sent out a receptionist who was not only aggressive but also rude. The first, they did a cleaning and a filling, second, they did a crown replacement, and third, they found 2 fractures in my teeth where my pain was. I found Dr. Patel to have a lack of sympathy or interest in my care, and she rushed through both my procedures. When Booshit was cleaning my teeth in the first visit, Dr. Patel even came in the room and told him to hurry. She came in, said my pain was probably due to gum disease and balked at the fact that I didn't want to replace my crown same day. She said it could crack any day (it didn't crack or cause me any issues but I went in and replaced a few months later anyways). After she was done with me, I saw her run out the front door, so apparently her break was more important than my appointment. The second time, I got my crown replaced and I remember it being such a fast appointment that my I texted my friend that I was "shocked" that they got me in and out so quickly. During that visit, I mentioned the persistent pain and they took a quick xray and look (like less than 5 minutes) and they said it all looked good and to use a water floss. Then, I tried to use a coupon emailed to me by their team, and they told me it wasn't valid because of the fine print, but the fine print affirmed that the coupon was valid, so I asked them to re-read then they realized their mistake and honored it. On the third visit, I came in and saw Tapasya Gurumurthy for pain and black lines on my teeth, but she did not give me a thorough evaluation. She looked at my teeth and let me know we'd have to start drilling to see if I need a root canal or an extraction on either or both of my fractured teeth. When I stopped her for questions, she seemed surprised that I didn't want her to continue. I asked her to look at my previous xrays to see if she could see the fracture because I had pain for the last 6 months, she said since she did not perform my previous work, she couldn't review it. I asked her how long it would've taken for a severe fracture like this to develop, she said she couldn't speak on that either. When I asked her based on her experience if this would need likely a root canal or an extraction, she couldn't say. Her inability to answer my questions was confusing and concerning. At first, she said to come back to see Dr. Patel, then she came back and said to see the Endodontist as soon as possible. I asked for the next appointment and she said he only comes once a month so I'd have to wait another month (???). She seemed to want to tell me worst case scenario and just kept saying "We'll hope for the best". She scared me and caused a lot of anxiety over the last week. During that 3rd appointment, when they gave me the cost estimate, I explained all of my concerns and frustrations above, with one of the staff even affirming she remembered the coupon issue. She was kind and took notes, and told me she'd have Dr. Patel reach out to me on Monday bc she was OOO at the time. It's now Wednesday and I haven't heard anything in email or by phone. Had their staff taken my pain seriously and did thorough evaluations, maybe we could've prevented the fractures from becoming severe issues that required emergency care. I saw a second opinion at a different practice 5 days later, who confirmed the severe fractures were severe enough to likely develop over months. He found the tooth growing behind one of the nearby teeth, and he was shocked that Stonecrest didn't explain this to me, or mention the risks of the condition during my 10 years there. He did a nerve test on my teeth and found that a root canal would likely be sufficient and explained the procedure fully to ease my fears. He also found 1-2 additional, minor, fillings that were not seen by Stonecrest. Stonecrest did not do a nerve test, did not look at the surrounding teeth, and refused to look at my previous work despite having the medical records readily available. Going to another place reminded me that there are dentists who actually care about their patients.

This verges on the border of being unethical. I had to schedule appointments months in advance, and when I had to reschedule, the clock started ticking once again and I had to wait several more months. The last time I had an appointment, Allegiance Dental itself cancelled on me, and I was told they would call back to reschedule. They never did. That was it for me. I switched to a new dentist.
