Let me start by saying this office is probably fine for routine cleanings and cavities. I don't think Dr. Qadeer overdiagnoses, and I genuinely wanted to like this place. About two months ago, I had a crown done that I definitely needed. Before the procedure, the only risk discussed was the possibility of needing a root canal because the decay was close to the nerve. I wish there had been a more thorough conversation about the crown process and potential complications beforehand. During the crown prep, I was surprised at how quickly Dr. Qadeer worked. I assumed maybe he was just very experienced, but in hindsight I think the procedure may have been rushed. Two weeks later, I still had pain and inflamed gums when I went in for the permanent crown. I was given a mouthwash that helped, the crown was placed, and I was told everything looked fine. About a month later, I returned for a cleaning and called ahead to say I was still having pain and wanted the tooth checked again. After another X-ray, Dr. Qadeer told me I needed surgery to lengthen the bone because the crown was not sealed correctly. I was shocked. He then claimed this had been discussed beforehand, which it had not, and said he hadn't mentioned it earlier because he wasn't sure until seeing the new X-ray. Quadeer blamed my anatomy not his work for the issue. He later offered to redo the crown at no cost. I reached out to two close friends from college who are dentists -- one an endodontist and one a general dentist who does crowns regularly. Both felt the tooth was likely a difficult case but that surgery sounded excessive. They also pointed out that the issue on the X-ray was already visible when the crown was originally cemented. We decided I should see an endodontist they recommended and trusted. He performed the root canal and prepared the tooth for a replacement crown, since doing additional work on the original crown would likely continue irritating the tooth. I then returned to Dr. Qadeer to redo the crown. During that visit, he still would not take accountability for what happened. He repeatedly said he didn't want to work on my tooth if I didn't trust him, which made the interaction uncomfortable. How could I fully trust him at this point? My permanent crown was delivered this week, and my dentist friends said it looks perfect. I do think Dr. Qadeer is capable of good work. My issue is more with how this situation was handled. If he had simply acknowledged it was a difficult case and said the crown needed to be redone, I would have understood. Instead, the responsibility was consistently shifted to my anatomy or to "not seeing it" earlier. Dentistry requires a great deal of trust, and once that trust is lost, it's hard to regain. I appreciate that he offered to redo the crown at no cost, but overall I left disappointed. My impression is that he prioritizes quantity over quality and that can become a problem when a case requires more time and attention. read more

Wow! I just had my first visit a few weeks ago and I was blown away by the outstanding customer service from the secretaries to the dentists each person I interacted with went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. After YEArS being dentist free I was concerned about going. However they all made me feel at ease. I cannot wait to come back for my deep cleaning next week! (Never thought those words would ever come out of my life. Everyone is super knowledgeable and answered all my questions in a simple way so I could understand. Also shout out to the secretary who scheduled me before my birthday. Even though life happened and I couldnt make it, her going out of the way was above and beyond. Also they are incredibly fast so you're not waiting super long in the weight room and everything is extremely clean. There is a small parking lot if you choose to drive and ample street parking. It's been almost a month so I forgot my dentist name but when I go back, I will update this with their names. For now shout out to my three dentists that I saw they were all equally amazing and knowledgeable. read more

I didn't come to this dentist to only be cared for by the hygienist. Actually, I did not come in for a cleaning at all, despite leaving with one. The facility is impressive and clean and everyone is friendly and professional. However, I don't feel that this office is thorough. For example, although I've had gum surgery and found all my previous dentists measured the depth of my gum pockets at regular intervals, this office never does. In addition, other dentists I've had routinely examine the tongue as a screening for cancer. This has never been done in the years I've visited this office. Scheduling appointments and communication are so easy, and I really appreciate how punctual they are--you're taken to the back almost upon arrival. The facility is impressive. everything is brand new, sterile, and up-to-date. I love the transparency they provide, showing x-rays and photos during procedures to keep you informed. Their high-tech equipment enhances the trust I feel with them. The staff is genuinely friendly, making every visit a pleasant experience. After changing insurances twice over the past 5-6 years and facing sub-par experiences elsewhere, finding a dentist I love has been a challenge so glad I found this office. I recently had a filling done here, and their quote was significantly lower than another dentist in the area, all while offering higher-quality care. Dr Qadeer is one of the best dentist I've​ been to in my 55 years of life. After so many bad experience's I just stopped going to the dentist on a regular basis. My teeth suffered from lack of care, cleanings, dental work needed to be done, and so on. After failing and missing teeth, I started looking into dentures or implants. Did my homework, got several estimates from at least 5 different dental offices through out San Diego, I decided to go with implants. Having checked out Clear Choice, the visit there was brief and I left there feeling like they were cars salesmen, in this case just trying to make another sale, not personable at all. Mesa Dental was my 5th and last dental office to check out. After reading some reviews, I made an appointment with them. After talking with Dr Qadeer for an hour, walking me through the process of what would take place, and showing me some of his work I felt confident with having him work on my mouth and implants. The process took a year, with all that needed to be done, and making sure my bone grafting was properly grafted to my implants. Dr Qadeer was patient with me even when I wasn't. He is just the best. The dentist seemed very knowledgeable, but the hygienist was one of the roughest & most painful I've had. I've never cried at the dentist before! She was brutal. They also tried to upsell me, telling me I needed to come in 3-4x/year for cleaning even though I don't have any issues. I was going to have to pay out of pocket because my insurance won't approve what they were trying to sell. I floss 1-2x/day and have great oral health, so the pain & the sales really rubbed me the wrong way. Let me start off by saying that I really really wish this could have been my go to dental office. But unfortunately their quote for Invisalign was too high for my pocket. They quoted me about 5K for 22 trays which equaled about 220 days. I've had braces before but just never wore my retainer so now I'm back trying to fix my teeth. Except I just need the top since the bottom stayed the same. If they would've given a price around 2500-3000 I would've signed up right away. BUT let me say the assistant/hygienist that helped me was so nice and happy. She took my X-rays and made convo with me, she was so welcoming. The dentist was so nice we even chatted about how he went to USC and would bike home since I'm from that Same neighborhood. Even the receptionist was very nice and answered all my questions. They do give you an iPad to fill out the forms and their parking is really small maybe 5/6 spots available. Place is very clean and they speak English and Spanish. I would have loved to make this my office but I'm off looking elsewhere. But i would come here for my regular cleaning if I didn't need Invisalign. Really liked this place. I'm very disappointed with the service at the front desk. As others have mentioned, the two young ladies working there are unhelpful and unprofessional. When I first visited, they couldn't verify my Delta Dental insurance. Despite me explaining that my ID number was my SSN , they didn't believe me and repeatedly told me they couldn't verify my coverage. I ended up calling Delta myself and easily verified it. I even gave them the correct phone number to call, but their attitude over the phone was dismissive. I emailed the office after visit to ask if they had verified my coverage but received no response. So, I went in person to call Delta in front of them to make sure it was sorted. I also had information Dr. Arash had requested about my implant. When I arrived, I asked if they had verified my insurance, and one staff member casually said, "Yes, you're good." Thanks for NOT letting me know? Then, when I tried to give them the information for Dr. Arash, they handed me a business card and told me to email it. I said, "No, I'm good," and left. On my way home, one of the staff called me and asked if I was going to email them the information. I told her, "I'll think about it," and hung up. Unbelievable. I love Dr. Arash and the dental assistants, but the front desk staff really need to be trained on professionalism and how to do their job properly. read more

Like some of the other comments, when trying to schedule or reschedule appts the front staff are not friendly and very curt. It is very difficult to get a cleaning appointment. Dr Qadeer works hard & does a nice job. The dental staff work nice together. It is the office staff that are unprofessional. I purchased the insurance package they offer because I don't have dental insurance, but they never made an effort to get me in for a cleaning. I thought they might do that before my implants were put in, but no. If you have to deal with the finance lady just be prepared for unprofessionalism & rudeness. She has been there 17 years, so I guess she can treat the patients as she pleases. You decide if it's worth it. read more

Dr Qadeer is knowledgeable and friendly but the front desk staff could use work. I sadly left this practice recently because the appointment I scheduled 6 months out needed to be rescheduled due to a work conflict. I called about 4 weeks in advance of my appointment and was told, in a somewhat bratty tone, that the next appointment wasn't until 5-6 months later. My teeth cleaning takes about 30 minutes at best. Expecting me know to my life schedule 6 months in advance is unreasonable. It is clear they don't value individual service over a cattle line of patients. It is too bad. read more

The appointments were rushed, there was little explanation to the processes, the doctor seemed to take little time going to each patient, and I wasn't happy with the final product of my teeth. Everyone is super friendly from the moment you walk in, everything went super smoothly, prices are fair and they handled my insurance in seconds. This review is really for the front desk staff, I have been going here for about 2 years and each time I have gone the front desk staff makes you feel as though you are bothering them with question and they want you to leave. If you call on the phones their tone is very rude and they are not helpful at all. I've tried giving them a few chances, time to move on. The staff and Dr. Qadeer are Mesa Dental are SO amazing! I cannot say enough times how pleased I am with my experience here. I originally went to another dental place thru my Delta Dental HMO plan and the other dentist told me I had 3 cavities and quoted me almost $2,500 for the fillings (AFTER insurance), which I thought was outrageous considering that I have dental insurance. I went to Mesa Dental for a second opinion and everyone was super friendly and professional- the front desk staff, x-ray technician, and the dentist (Dr. Qadeer) were all so informative and helpful. Dr. Qadeer told me I had two cavities and erosion(?) from my tooth touching another tooth. He showed me on the x-ray and photos of the cavities which was helpful (the first dental place did not), and he also gave me options and the pros and cons of each one (root canal vs filling with nerve protection for my larger cavity). Even when I had extra questions after leaving, Dr. Qadeer patiently answered all my questions over the phone. On my second visit, I got my fillings done and it went so smoothly- wait was not long and it was actually one of the least painful experiences I've had, and I have crazy anxiety with needles when I go to the doctor/dentist. It's been over a week, and I haven't had any sensitivity since my fillings were completed. I would 100% recommend this place to my family and friends, and I am so glad I went with my gut and went to Mesa Dental for a second opinion. I will gladly keep going here in the future. read more

The best office ever!! I've never been in an office with a very clean area, doctor is very acknowledged and kind!

My first red flag was when they wanted to perform new treatments that I had not previously consented for, so they tried to have me initial for the work on papers that I signed and DATED over a year prior. It is not legal to add initials to an outdated photocopied consent so they can backdate treatment consent. When I advised the Dentist of this incorrect practice he became argumentative with me, and got angry when I did not agree with his policy. They did eventually provide me with a new form that I signed & dated for that day. They have also tried to get a full set(per the girl taking the xrays) of xrays with a 6 month cleaning for me, even though insurance only pays for a full set once a year. You have to decline, which they don't like, or you are paying out of pocket. When I paid for a deep cleaning, I only got certain teeth deep cleaned, not all, which is unlike any other Dentist I have been to over the years, who has always done an all teeth deep cleaning. Also I was specifically told by an employee there is only 1 actual Hygienist, the rest are all 'Techs'(employees term). I asked the one who was placing my temp Crown what his job title was because something didn't feel right about him & he told me he was the Dentist's "assistant", after specifically asking about his schooling he finally, reluctantly, admitted that he was a 'Tech'. I had asked for Dr to check the temp Crown because I did not feel confident in his 'assistant' & the Dr did not like that, and made me feel discredited because I had said I thought he would be the one to put it in, or at least check it after it was placed. My overall experience with this Dr was if you just sat there & didn't question anything he was super nice, but if you speak up, he would completely change his tune & talk down to you. The final straw with this place was when Dr. Qadeer came in & immediately started working in my mouth, then after 1-2 mins abruptly got up & changed his gloves, that's when I realized he hadn't put gloves on when he came into my room, they were already on. And yes, as many others have said the front office is a nightmare. Just know that they will compensate you if you write a good review, so does that mean positive reviews were basically paid for? read more

Dr Qadeer was understandably agitated with my one star review. He called me the next day and hoped I could change my review. He explained to me his perspective and asked me to look at things from his perspective. He offered to send me a $320 check to refund those charges I was skeptical of "as good faith", he kept on repeating. I guess as a good faith to update my review. I explained it was not just about the money at all, there were too many things that weren't done right. After elaborating with some of the details that I didn't explain well enough in my original write up, he finally started to understand why I was upset. It seems like his staff was not honest with him or "conveniently forgot/left out" some details. He also blamed the fact that my insurance is very rare so his staff always forget, and that the referrals were apparently the only ones he could find. (I assured him I see plenty of other specialists in the area taking my insurance via the website). He did send me the check along with a typed (unsigned) letter saying he reprimanded his staff and is requiring additional training etc to ensure these things will not happen again. While he sounds sincere enough I am somewhat skeptical. But I decided to give him benefit of the doubt and bumped the rating up for his efforts. I'm leaving my original review though, slightly modified with more details. Some free advice for the good doctor: either get your staff good with this insurance, or don't accept it if it's that rare - not worth damaging your reputation. Your staff also need a lesson on customer is always right and apologizing for mistakes - doesn't matter if it was them or the insurance who made the mistake, to the customer its the same. Also, when I show up at my appointment I literally saw 4 other people booked at same time, which seems to be the norm. This requires a lot of staff which can lower quality of service, and also not enough personal attention. read more
