I almost don't like to give a yes, cause once it's known good it's known good too much good location, nice quiet park in the night. Minimal extra amenities but all the needed comforts. Full hookups so you don't have to carry/use a honey truck and sometimes that's a huge bonus. Good number of on site restrooms/showers and code lock doors to keep out undesirables (unfortunately that's really common these days) Cameron's resturaunt is adjoined to the RV park and food is pretty good. Karaoke on Friday/Saturday evening made for a fun time. Took May grandson out biking and the access to trails coastside avoiding any need to be near a road was a super plus. Close to beaches, but no direct quick access from the park grounds. read more

Just home from a great visit. How much did we like it? Well, before we headed home, we made reservations for next weekend as well. Everyone we encountered could not have been nicer -- from staff to fellow short-timers to long-term residents. Very quiet. Perfect place for our wonder mutt to be -- near dog-friendly beaches, a dog park just a short walk down the road and loads of trails. Very clean restrooms and each one is self-enclosed shower, toilet and sink. The pub was definitely our kind of pub. We're going to keep coming back as long as they'll have us! read more

First and foremost, I would like to say our family enjoyed our stay here. Lori, the manager, is such a nice women and is extremely kind and helpful, we had no issues getting a long term spot for my husband due to his constant change in jobs so he is constantly changing locations for work and they were able to get us a spot immediately for long term stays. The location is great, near downtown and close to everything you need like shops, grocery stores and gas stations. The bike trails that lead to the ocean from the RV Park are INCREDIBLE, we went on bike rides everyday! Side note: I grew up in Half Moon Bay, our family currently doesn't live here anymore but I have a long history with the town and the people who live there. Secondly, At the end of our families stay, we were informed by the park that they were getting complaints about our children... saying they were being too loud, people would occasionally hear them crying, we were playing music (during the day) and they could hear our kids running around inside the trailer.... Our children are 4 and 1 years old.... They were being KIDS!! So someone near us, was that bothered by our children, they had to make a huge deal about it and report us to the front office... My husband has not lived at home in almost 4 years due to his job so when my children and I would come see my husband it was for a week at a time, and that is the ONLY time we get to see him. We have to travel to him, otherwise we don't get to see him AT ALL. I understand nobody knows our situation, which we dont expect people too, but it also made us feel extremely unwelcome after that phone call we received, it made us feel extremely uncomfortable and we felt like we were now being watched because our kids had a couple "bad days". Being from Half Moon Bay, I took this news extremely personal, it made us feel like we were getting "kicked out" or "warned" that if it didn't change, they were going to ask us to leave. All because someone can't handle children being children. My husband has lived in 8 different trailer parks all up and down California and Nevada the last 4 years and we have NEVER had complaints towards our family. There are a ton of retired, working and older tenants who live there full time and apparently some forget what it's like to have kids, or they've never had kids themselves. Unfortunately, we did decide to leave the park. At that time my husband had already lived there full time for over 3 months. My husband was not comfortable having us come visit him if we felt unwelcome and felt like we were going to be watched each time we came. Especially telling our children they can't be themselves while they're there because some people have issues with kids. We genuinely enjoyed our stay there, we had such a great time creating memories as a family, until we didn't. I do recommend staying here if your doing a short term stays because you're gone in a few days so it's not enough time to create an issue, but if you have children and are looking for a long term place, I would not recommend it unless you "KEEP THEM ON A TIGHT LEASH" which is what was told to our new tenant by the park when moving in. And to the front office, I did not create this post to have you reply or feel like you need to "stick up" for your RV Park, it's a GREAT park, I just don't think it's GREAT for children which is the focus of my posting. This was an awful experience, I have never met someone so rude. The lady with the blonde hair and glasses was so rude. we checked in late after closing hours. (Me and my 3 kids) the site we booked didn't have power working, so we pulled into the one next to us. It was a late evening for us, so we were tired and slept in. She cane banging at 11:45, told us we had to be out in 15 minutes. I asked if we were able to book another evening she said no, our bus was not acceptable. Where as the day before she said our schoolie was not an issue hence why she let us book the first night. Having 15 minuted until we had to be out my son went to jump in the shower. And she came to tell him he needed to get out or she was charging my credit card another night. It's just awful waking up to that with your kids. Not being kind takes so much more effort than just being kind. We are just passing through as travelers. We will never be back. We were greeted with smiles and open arms at Pelican point. Lady was so kids accommodating. Please if you can support their kindness and park here. Plus you have a beautiful ocean view at pelican point. And they full your propane for you read more

If you want to be made to feel like you don't belong, this is the place for you. Lisa "host" has a unique way of making you feel unwelcome, is never without complaints about patrons, and likely has never seen the inside of a shower. I'd rate a 1 if not for the owners being good people, but their inability to control the "hosts" is a shame. It could be a great park when they get hosts that realize they are in the customer service business. I'll never be back. Much better value elsewhere. SF RV Park is heads and shoulders about HMB. HMB think they are the only game in town. Far from accurate. Your money is better spent elsewhere. HMB is cash only. Should tell you everything you need to know. And 15-20 feral cats that are fed what can only be described as "slop" strewn around the property is not only gross, but very unsanitary. Gross. read more

Besides being very noisy(RV Park sits directly next to a working nursery, that operates heavy machinery, trucks & loud workers). The daily/short term RV'rs are parked next to nursery road with a row of shrub trees between your RV and the Nursery. The park is dusty due to the working nursery and the gravel/dirt RV pads. The roads are paved. The only grass/turf is what's being smoked or the artificial turf that some long term stays have landscaped with. We love the beach, ocean and walking. You walk to the street, then approximately a1/2 mile to the entrance of the ball park. It's approximately a mile to the bluffs, in order to get to the beach from the top of bluffs, you'll almost need to repel down. There's access, but it's steep and difficult to get down as well as get back to the top of the bluffs. If you want to walk on the beach, you definitely should consider another RV park. The staffers are non-friendly and not hospitable, almost rude. You ask a question, it's like you are interrupting their day. The only enlightened part of our stay was being able to walk to Cameron's Pub. We met the owner,Cameron himself. Very nice and an excellent place to eat, drink and converse with the locals and other RV'rs and visitors. All in all, thumbs down , will not return and would not recommend. Just came back from a weekend at Half Moon Bay RV Park. We had a great experience staying there. Was able to pick up a cancellation and stay for my birthday which was awesome (have always wanted to RV camp in HMB and Lori made it happen!). Lori was extremely sweet on the phone & via email and gave info on what was nearby to the campground. The sites are clean and wide. Yes, it's parking lot style camping but they don't have you piled on top of each other. Yes, there are full time people camp/living there but their RVs are new, their areas are decorated super cute and kept neat and orderly. Lisa the owner made sure to come around & let us know there was a brief power outage and came back to inform us it was back up. We had a great time and now I have decided this will be my annual birthday destination. Thanks HMB RV Park, Lori and Lisa for a great experience! read more

We traveled here from Arizona because our first grandchild was going to be born in San Francisco. On our journey to the park, we had major vehicle problems. I contacted Lisa and told her we might be late or coming in very late at night if we could make it, our reservation time. She was so nice and understood. She told us not to worry she'd hold her reservation. We did arrive on the date but very late at night. She was there and escorted us to our designated campsite and even help us backing in because my husband is a novice. I couldn't believe how accommodating and thoughtful she was. This is not your family spend the weekend style park. It seems like it more of a mobile home park. Most of the people live here. When I pulled up to check the park, I my wife and two infant children got approached by a group of drunk people with drinks still in their hands who live there. It was not a pleasant interaction and If I was alone would have probably ended in a fight. To be fair I have had no interaction with the business staff. I just got my family out of there asap. This may have been a one time thing. If you got kids and are looking for a safe family spot this isn't it. read more

Well....... How do I start? Hmmmm let me just get to the point. It's Thanksgiving Day and I come to camp here for the first time, as I am backing up my camper, I hit the water pipe/post and broke it. Water is going everywhere...... I freak out and go grab Lisa (manager) she as calm as can be starts to handle business. Lisa had to shut everyone's water off and before I know it, there six people helping me out and trying to fix the problem. As I was standing there she told me they have everything covered and go enjoy your camping in Half Moon Bay. I am happy I chose this RV park to spend our annual family Thanksgiving. This place is well maintained and a great place to stay for short or long term. We were here with my mom's fifth wheel but we also stayed outside in the tent. The ground is all gravel or wood chips so it can be a little dusty.... The bathrooms have individual toilet/shower stalls to yourself. They're clean, but you need to bring your own body wash etc. and there is no where in the bathrooms to put your stuff down (which is always helpful). Cameron's inn is adjacent to the park and a great place to grab food and drinks, and to buy some nice British treats. There is also a great trail down to the beach that takes about 15 mins. read more

We were excited to find about a half-dozen spotlessly clean private bathrooms, each with its own awesome, hot shower (no additional cost to shower, yay!) I rated this campground at four instead of five stars because the electrical hook-ups for the electric-only spaces are 15 amps, not 30 amps as advertised. Also, the way the hook-up stations are built means that it is difficult or impossible to plug in your power if the RV next to you is also plugged in due inadequate space between the outlets. Pricey @ $68/night, but reasonable for the area. 24-hour check-in, too, though check out is at noon, which means that our check-in at 1 AM was a kick in the wallet. Wish we could've afforded a longer stay at this extremely clean and welcoming place! read more

Stayed here for two nights. The park itself totally lacks atmosphete and there are no activities at all. The beach is nearby so if you're up for a walk there is a nice bird watching are between the park and beach. The is a very nice english pub next to the camp ground with good food. read more

It's not a super fancy but it's on a great location, next to open space, a walk to the beach is highly recommended. The dump station was very clean and convenient. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, so when I booked two nights at 86.00 a night sight unseen I expected a pretty nice place. Boy was I wrong. The young lady that checked me in was very polite and helpful. That's the only positive thing I can say. No grass, no trees. It's a big dirt lot and it had been raining so your camped in a big mud field. A LOT of permanent residence with multiple cars with hoods up and people working in them. Several little islands of slums. Weak to non existent Wifi and no cable, this may seem petty but at almost 100.00 I'm expecting some amenities (cable, pool). There's no view and no beach access. This was my first and will be my last time here. read more

They say first impressions are lasting, and our stay at Half Moon Bay RV Park is no exception. As soon as we arrived, I was greeted by Lori and her cheerful disposition. I immediately smelled a wonderful scent from an aroma therapy candle. I am so accustomed to the bad attitude from other parks at check-in, that I was almost in shock. But, it tuned out that all of the staff I encountered were polite and kind. They take pride in their park and you can tell. The restrooms are extremely clean, and are actually quite private: an enclosed room with a shower, toilet and sink. The grounds are well maintained and quiet. The other campers had nice clean rigs and organized sites. Without a doubt, my family and I will stay here during our next trip to Half Moon Bay. read more

After deciding to take a weekend trip to Santa Cruze, we had soon came to the realization that it was Memorial Day weekend and there were no hotels that were not booked. We were two tired to drive home and the camp site on the ocean was taken so they sent us here. I called a few times to try to get a hold of the manager and see if there was a place that we could park our car for the night. After a few attempts we finally got ahold of her and she gave us permission to park at the price of $40. This park had a place called the Silver Bullet Lounge so we decided to see what it was all about. We went in and took a look. From the outside, It looked like a big silver trailer and it had a set up to watch movies, dvd's and a hammock out front. I would have to admit that for $40 the place was not what I was expecting. We were kind of expecting to be able to park our car somewhere close to the beach and be able to take a walk along the ocean that night. This was nit the case at all. It looked as if it were a trailer park for permanent residents. Someone also parked in the space we had paid to pull our car into and there were people walking around all night so we got no sleep. Next time im just going to reserve a beach side hotel 3 days in advance and save myself the time and trouble. It was at least a good photo op. read more

Getting ready for another season of crabbing I realized that HMB RV Park and Campground has been my friends and family goto spot for camping and RVing in Half Moon Bay for the last few years. Whether it was planned ahead of time or short notice, tent or RV camping, we have always been accommodated and welcomed with smiles, a clean bathroom and campsite, good people, and hot showers. When you are on the water all day these things are perfect to reset for the next day. This location allows you to access any coastal activity easily from beach walks to surfing and everything in between. I have lived and travelled all over the state of California for the last three years chasing pipeline work, and have never been treated as well as I have here. The staff is always friendly and helpful, will answer any question and know where to go for all of my needs. It is a new park, and has had a few road bumps, but they take them in stride and work hard to fix any little thing. Close to the ocean and the coastal trails for afternoon walks, bike rides, bird watching or whatever you like. The spots are spacious, and the residents always greet you with a smile. Doesn't hurt that the owner has a great family oriented pub next door! If in halfmoon bay, and rving, this is the place to stay! read more

First time visit and we happy with the location! We had full hookups which included water, electric and sewage! Our spot was close to the pub and was not noisy! All the spots were gravel and it was difficult for us to level our RV! All spots included a fire pit and table/chairs. There is no shade for days like we had during Labor weekend! Pros: Easiest Rv Park to get into on a holiday weekend. Full hookups with 50 amps. Cons: dirt and gravel- very dusty with the current drought. Lots are very unleveled and slightly cramped. No grass areas anywhere. No beach access unless you like a mile walk (one way) with a steep descent. Some sites are right next to highway 1. We weren't even unhitched when we were approached by a tweaker asking us to buy his girlfriend a drink. Management was there pretty soon and told him to leave, but we have observed other suspicious persons hanging around Cameron's pub next to the campground. Bottom line: we will only stay here again if we are desperate for a spot near the coast. This place has a lot of potential to be really nice if it was paved and more secure. read more

This was our first time visiting this park and we were so disappointed! It rained when we were there which is nobody's fault but this made the park a muddy mess. Each spot is barely graveled causing sand and mud everywhere! When we went to dump at the end of our stay the dump station was atrocious! Filthy and run down with not even a garbage can! The pluses of the park are good location, friendly staff, and a cute pub within walking distance. read more

Back again, i love this rv park. Better than other places. Some are too expose to the wind and traffic noise and the manager is not rude, not like the others close by and pacifica. I love this one for things that fits for me. The beach access, the doggie park close by with friendly folks. A fun biking distance to main street, fresh sea food and sam's chowders, friendly fun helpful staff in the office. And many many many beach access! I surf, so this place maybe is not for everyone? Another part i like using hwy 92 to san mateo county for more fun stuff to do and shopping! I used lyft coming home after few drinks on broadway st. Super helpful. Princeton is another neat place to check out for food. And beautiful beautiful trails, Coast and more. Worth coming back. read more

This RV park has only been open a few months. It has some nice sites with full hookups 30amp and 50amp. Sites were all very large with plenty of room. Since the park is new, the landscaping is the only thing lacking (hence the 4 stars). Kimiko (office manager) was super friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend. read more

My family and I have camped here once and I'm not sure if we will come back. We do a lot of camping and have never had a problem with ticks, but our dog came home with 2 ticks on him. He's fine because he takes medication for them, but it is still scary. I know that isn't the fault of the campground, but it leaves a negative feeling. Sites are kind of close together, but that isn't a big deal. We went when all the wild flowers were blooming and it was beautiful. No dogs on the beach by the campground kinda stinks too. read more
