We had the best adventure with STAN! Went to the Mendocino coast and the van was so convenient with all of the amenities. Easy to operate. The owners were so accommodating and easy to work with!

One of the best vacations in a long time -10 day road trip to the Lost Coast and the NorCal redwoods! STAN is easy to drive, comfortable and convenient. Van is outfitted with all the amenities you can imagine and the owners were so easy to communicate with for the rental and return. Definitely renting again!

I would not rent from Road Bear Rentals & Sales again based on our recent experience…read more From the very beginning, the experience fell short of expectations. When we picked up the RV, we did not receive a thorough walkthrough of the vehicle or an explanation of its features and operation. Instead of taking the time to show us the ins and outs of the RV in person, we were simply told to watch a 35-minute video if we had questions. For first-time renters or anyone unfamiliar with that specific RV, this was not an adequate substitute for proper customer service. During the second week of our cross-country trip, the generator in our RV stopped working. We had specifically paid for the unlimited generator usage option, yet the generator was never repaired despite our calling and emailing the service department every day. While the water pump was fixed, the generator issue remained unresolved for the rest of our trip. This created serious safety concerns for our family. My mother relies on a CPAP machine to sleep, and we were traveling with children who have special needs. Without a working generator, we were forced to spend approximately $2,000 on hotels just to have air conditioning and electricity overnight. To make matters worse, while we were still in El Paso, Texas--about 20 hours from California--we were instructed to return the RV by 5:00 p.m. California time. We explained that making that drive without a functioning generator in extreme heat was unsafe, but our circumstances did not appear to be taken into consideration. One of Road Bear's own service representatives even told us that the generator was "not a good unit," yet no meaningful solution was provided. We were also never informed that the generator should not be used while driving, despite paying extra for unlimited generator use. We expected a reliable RV and responsive customer service, especially considering the premium price we paid. Instead, we experienced inadequate orientation, an unresolved mechanical issue, significant unexpected expenses, and a great deal of stress during what was supposed to be a memorable family vacation. I hope Road Bear takes responsibility for this experience and improves both the reliability of its vehicles and the level of customer service it provides. Customers should receive a proper in-person orientation before leaving the lot, and mechanical issues that affect safety should be addressed promptly. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend renting from Road Bear Rentals & Sales.

I also didn't want to rent one of those old RV's with the terrible interiors (you know what I'm talking about) EXPERIENCE Me, the husband, and our dog had a great adventure! He got to do his camping and I got to "glamp" , sleep in a real bed, and take a real shower. The interior was AMAZING, like a hotel room. Also, they stocked it with everything, like a hotel! (sheets, silk filled blankets, pots, pans, toaster, coffee bean grinder!, knife sharpener, wood, chairs, tables, foil, cooking spray, hair dryer..etc..)literally anything you might need, not just the essentials. Our majestic moving toilet was easy to drive, park, and gave us access to views we'd never see in a regular car. With the RV we could get up at the crack of down, drive to a spot in our jammies, watch the sunrise and make breakfast in front of the lake before the crowds arrive. OWNERS Derek and Conrad were the 2nd best part (besides the RV itself), they were always available on the phone when we didn't know how to use something. PRICING Their price is all inclusive, so even though it seems more expensive then like Rent America RV's , in the end its worth it! . There is a deposit on top of the price as well, and though we broke a door and antenna, the repair was only $50 bucks. They are so honest and will not nickle and dime you or charge for BS things (unlike apartment deposits) TLDR - more expensive , but price is all inclusive, unlike other rentals! - the RV's are stocked with EVERYTHING ( you just need to come with your clothes) - RV's are modern and true definition of "glamping" - Derek and Conrad are fantastic host and will ensure you have an amazing time! If you're thinking about it, stop. Just do it! You won't regret it.

We checked out van, had many cosmetic errors but nothing else was wrong with it. We made it the two weeks without any problems. Check engine light came on at one point but the Travellers Autobarn help section informed us it was just something to note upon return. The fridge would only keep out food cold half of the time but we were also traveling along the PNW in the winter and the fridge ran off solar panels so I believe it was just due to lack of power. More than enough propane for cooking every meal, only needed to fill up the water tank once halfway on the trip. Overall, a great budget van. Staff seemed to be helpful when needed and the van got us there and back without any major issues. If you're looking for the luxurious van life experience this isn't the vehicle for you. But if you have a long roadtrip planned and want to save money on sleeping arrangements, definitely choose this route. Excited to rent again on any future long haul trips!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!…read more I'm concerned that this company generates More revenue from charging people for damage, than actual rental services. There was superficial aesthetic scratches as you can see in the photo. We were told, that these tiny scratches are worth 25% of the entire cost of the part ($1400). Do you think these scratches justify 25%? In reality, it's more like 0.1% of the cost. --so how many customers will they do this to? 10? And reap a 250% return on this part? -HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS. I'm all for paying for damages but this is ridiculous. The money maker is charging customers for cumulative replacements. You're NOT SUPPOSE TO PROFIT OFF DAMAGE CHARGES. Or is that the entire point of this business? If you've been ripped off by this business, please reach out, as we may be interested in class action litigation.

They only have one person working on Sunday so I waited over 2.5hrs to make my return. Waited outside their gate for 40mins. Another rented was already waiting. The only person there takes 45mins to do his return inspection. After waiting for near an hour the renters in front of me finally got escorted off the property. Upon inspecting my rentals he pointed out a scratch on my jetski rental. The scratch was pretty superficial. The seadoo sparks are made mostly out of plastic and polytec unlike traditional jetskis that are made of mostly fiberglass. Fiberglass damage needs repairs to prevent more damage to the surrounding fiberglass, however, the plastic and polytec damage does not need to be repaired. The small scratch was the size of a pinky fingernail clipping from a part that was nearly the entire surface of the ski. Basically the area you would stand on. The parts price was quoted at ~$1200. His inspection required me to pay for a 1/4 of the $1200 part and 1/4 of the labor it would be to replace the part. A quarter of the price was ridiculous in my opinion. I asked if he could give me deal and give me 1/10 of the cost for parts and labor. It seemed more reasonable than paying over $300 for a scratch in some polytec/plastic that was likely intended to take some abuse. I was surprised he was even considering that small scratch as damage. It blow my mind that they would do this kind of BS to a customer. By the looks of it, this has happen before. The pictures indicate the part that would be replaced. Again, my scratch was the size of a little fingernail clipping. The part is massive in comparison to the scratch.

I tried to work with the owner to rectify some incorrect charges and I was accused of having a learning disability. SMGDH The story goes like this: I recently booked a trip with Trekker Vans and it was, by far and away, the worst vehicle rental experience I have ever had. I returned the van in a perfectly fine condition (see attached photos), and with a full tank of gas, but was charged $100 in cleaning fees and fuel. The rental agreement stipulates that the van not be returned "excessively dirty" which I later realized was code for "Trekker Vans wants you to return it spotless, and will nickel and time you at their discretion." The gas tank was also full when I dropped it off, so I really have no idea where the fuel charge came from. I tried working with Nate to find an amicable solution but that simply did not work. He was myopically focused on proving his point versus hearing me out. I ultimately had to end the conversation when he accused me of having a learning disability. At that point, I realized there was no hope of being treated with any form of respect. If you want to be ripped off, talked down to, and insulted then go with Trekker Vans. Otherwise, go literally anywhere else.
