I have been trying to make it to Aroma since I first saw it opened, but the weekend hours, 10am - 3pm, make it a little challenging. I wish they opened a little bit earlier, as by 10 I kind of forget about it. I met up with a friend shortly after opening. There are so many delicious looking treats and coffees to choose from. I got a chai latte that was perfect and was ready so quick! They had a good flow of people thoughout the time we were there and I loved that they had art for sale as well as some Puerto Rican merch. - good food, nice ambiance, kind staff - no reservation can be made - would come back I came in after seeing a tiktok a while back and was pretty happy with the treats they had to offer! The staff was friendly and the space was very nice to spend a Saturday morning chillaxing. I got the Cubano Sandwich for my meal since I gravitate towards them anywhere they're available. There was plenty of ham and roast beef for a filling meal with nice thick slices of pickles for some added crunch. I love a pressed sandwich, and the compactness and crunch from toasting made it a very enjoyable! I love a tangy Cubano, but sadly didn't get much of a zing from the sauce and wish I got a nice hit of that. Overall a yummy sandwich! For my drink, I got an Iced Churro Latte. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but this was a nice tasty drink. The dulce de leche added lots of sweetness, and cinnamon is always welcome in a drink! The lil churro bits were also fun and cute to finish it off. My lovely lady for her Avocado Toast as she gravitates towards those. The toast was toasted and I think this is the first time we've had a well-seasoned mash that doesn't need extra salt+pepper? Awesome! There was lots of bacon which was yummy for me, but maybe a bit too much for the average joe. Pretty solid avocado toast! M'lady got a Café con Leche for her drink. Hmmm a pretty nice and deep latte, but we're no connoisseurs, so not too much to say on it... still a nice cup of joe to start the day. We also got a Quesito to share since I am a big fan of cheese rolls. This roll was ok compared to ones I've had in the past, but those may have been different variations as well. I thought the syrup on-top was an interesting take from the sugar crystals I am used to. I also found that this roll did not have much of a cheese filling. A nice flaky pastry with lots of cream was what I was expecting, but I found the inside to be almost dry, or at least I didn't see much after I took a bite. A lovely place to start the day with fun drinks and yummy food! They also had some additional apparel items for sale and I think lil specialty markets like that are always awesome and a great way to introduce others into other cultures with specialty snacks and trinkets like that. I wish some of the items fit more into what I was expecting, but still very yummy. I would love to come back to try their other food options since ours were pretty good, and I'd also love to try their other pastry items as well! Stopped in again. This time, I treated myself to a mocha and an Almond Danish. Both were excellent. My only disappointment is that they still don't offer the option of having your hot beverage served in an actual mug. For those of us who enjoy lingering in a coffee shop, a real mug makes the experience that much better. read more

First coffee shop of the year, starting out right with Aroma café. It is so cozy and inviting. The seats are comfortable and all unique making it so you stay! The staff are friendly and the drinks/food are served quickly. I was so excited they sold quesitos (traditional Puerto Rican sweet breakfast treat pairing well with coffee). It was flaky and sweet and authentic. I decided to order the iced churro latte and was worried it would be too sweet but it wasn't. The coffee came through perfectly with balancing sweet and coffee flavor, definitely recommend! They also have cute coffee flights and I will probably do that next time! Being Puerto Rican, Aroma Café did not disappoint and made me feel at home. read more

I've been wanting to go to Aroma Café for the longest!!! It was very cozy inside and the service was amazing. The music was nostalgic and the workers were very nice and excited to hear how I liked everything. So glad I stopped by. I got the churro latte, and honestly I'm not really a coffee person but I did enjoy it, just wished it was a bit sweeter but that's just my preference, it still tasted amazing. I also had a cheese danish which was so fluffy and flaky, the cheese was so yummy and it was a great size for the price. I ordered a Cubano sandwich to go which was so great, I loved the slight crunch on the outside of the bread and how soft the inside of it was. Just the smell of the sandwich was delicious! Puerto Rico in West Allis?! This cute café does a great job of transporting you to the Isla del Encanto. The staff is super friendly, and they have a lot of really great coffee and food options. On this visit, I tried their Cubano and it was fire. The empanadas look really good too. It's a great place to hang out and catch up with friends, or in my case, post up and work remotely. Very chill vibes, and the music was a great mix of Spanish bangers at just the right volume to not be obnoxious. A great addition to the thriving scene in West Allis! read more

How much do I love Aroma Cafe? So, so much. This lovely little Puerto Rican coffee shop is serving up flavorful lattes, delicious baked goodies, and sandwiches. I love their churro latte as well as their seasonal horchata latte. Most recently I ordered their churro latte made with almond milk. It's like a warm autumnal hug. Truly--a cinnamon-y delight. I also love their avocado toast. Not because they add a lot of extra deliciousness to it--it's actually pretty basic--however, their bread I think must be house made and is outstanding. It's hearty, rustic, and just pitch perfect. The service is always so friendly and the prices are reasonable. The shop itself is cute and though it's on the smaller side, we've always been able to get a table. Get to it! read more

Cosy Puerto Rican cafe in West Allis, on the Northwest corner 81st & National, serving Puerto Rican coffee with options for hot and cold brew, along with other hot and cold beverages. There is also a case with fresh pastries and a hot case with empanadas. I stopped in with a friend yesterday. I had their Caramel Latte with Almond Milk as a sub option for dairy, and we shared a ground beef empanada, cheesecake with chocolate frosting and Tres Leches cake. The beef empanada was delicious...there was good seasoning in the ground beef. The Tres Leches cake was good but not as "wet" as other Tres Leches cakes I've had, and the cheesecake with chocolate frosting was my favorite treat of the two! Service was very good and welcoming. A Puerto Rican cafe! I used to work at a place in Chicago, Tower Ambulance, and across the street was a Cuban grocery where I would start my shift with an espresso, a carne and a guayaba pastelitos, and although it was a pretty toxic workplace, all would be good with a start like that. Outside of Miami or Tampa, I haven't been able to revisit that until Aroma Cafe. Sweet, friendly, sunny space that has a real Puerto Rican feel to it. No need to go to a pseudo Carribean Latin place, find the real thing here. The one thing that isn't quite authentic is that service is quite prompt, but it's still friendly. read more

My friend and I like to try different local coffee, shops, and aroma was our next stop. This was actually my second visit. Upon entering, there was only three other ladies seated at a table together. There was one worker on staff. It was absolutely freezing, and I asked the lady at the counter if she could adjust that and she said she did not know where the remote was. We tried to find a table away from the fan. I ordered the Dubai chocolate latte, hot. It was absolutely delicious. The temperature was perfectly hot. Only suggestion would be to make sure the temperature inside matches the temperature outside. The day we visited it was maybe 65 degrees and they had their air on full blast. read more

Atmosphere is typical of a coffee shop, comfortable. I was disappointed as the Cafe Con Leche is NOT authentic. It was just a steamed milk latte. Authentic Cafe Con Leche is made with using a cheese cloth. It's supposed to have a creamy texture not heavy foam and sugar is mixed in with the strong expresso. This tasted and looked like something you buy at Starbucks. The empanadas were good and will come back and try the pastries. Three stars due to the coffee. read more

We visited this spot today since it recently opened. The coffee was decent, but it didn't quite compare to the coffee I enjoy when visiting Puerto Rico. However, their Puerto Rican cake was absolutely authentic and spot-on. They also offer a variety of pastries, similar to what you'd find at most coffee shops. The place was incredibly busy, yet I was impressed with how efficiently the staff managed the crowd, working together seamlessly as a team. While I'm not completely sold on this coffee shop just yet, I'd be open to returning in six months to give them another try. Maybe they will have other options in their menu coming summer time.
