Great selection of books, records, games, and movies. The staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. I felt like I got great value for the money I paid for my purchase.

A decent HPB. To be honest my expectations were different when I went here. I was specifically looking for some academic books. They do have a big selection for the fictions. Plenty in all age groups. When it comes to the academic area, I found it mostly dry. The only reason I went to HPB is that I have always found books I wanted there. And this is the nearest HPB from my place. very disappointed with that selection. It's part of a big shopping center. Plenty of parking around. Staffs are ok. There were only a couple when I walked in. They greeted me with a smile; but later I could find only one person who's in charge of the front desk. When I had some questions and needed some help, he could only direct me to certain aisles. Still picked up couple of books on that day. have to try elsewhere for the books I wanted!

I was looking for an out of print DND Starter Set that I could not find anywhere online. Half Price Books found it for me at one of their Iowa stores and had it shipped here. I was further delighted to discover it was still factory sealed. All at a very reasonable price as well. Thank you!

Your mileage may vary with requesting books from other locations in terms of wear and tear.

This is a great little location, but as with any second hand store, your experience will vary. The staff here is helpful and friendly, and they have lots of fun and interesting gift items as well as great books. To sell: Bring in your books and go all the way to the back of the store. The person at the back register will request your name and cell number and will call your name over the intercom once they've calculated an offer. You can peruse the store then they'll give an offer and if you take it they'll give you a paper receipt to take to the front desk. If you've requested books from another location, the front desk will have them in a stack along with your name and you can apply that credit to the new books, or presumably they can cash it out for you too. Got a good trade last few times I've been in and they even helped me order books for pickup from another location (unfortunately one of the books had heavy wear but was priced the same as it's more gently used counterpart so I'm not sure if I'll be ordering used books sight unseen like that again) You're not gonna make some big profit, it's more finding a home for those books you no longer use and getting a deal on your next read without becoming a bookseller yourself. Happy reading!

Amazing find at half off???! (9/22/18)

It's what every neighborhood needs, really. Ridgecrest Books is located in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Shoreline, which isn't huge, but has just what this cozy area needs. Among other businesses, Ridgecrest Books is one of the few businesses on a central street with plenty of street parking. My friends and I visited during the Seattle Independent Bookstore Day, so it was pretty busy in the small bookstore, but was still a welcoming experience. They even had discounted books on racks outside the store, in addition to the collection inside. They don't have the largest book collection here, but it's curated well. I also love that this bookstore is dog friendly! Anytime I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop by and check out what's new at this wonderful, neighborhood bookstore.

I stopped by for the grand opening (3/9/24), had a chance to congratulate one of the owners and sign their guest book. They've been working hard restoring the site. Bright, inviting, lovely bookshelves and custom book ends. Filled with various book titles and subjects. And if applicable, nice corner spot for the kiddos! There are also store merch like onesies, Tshirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, cards, and stickers. It was nice to stop by and get an overview of their offerings. It will be nice to be able to place bookorders in my actual city, in addition to my faves in Seattle and Lake Forest Park. There's ample street parking, located at 165th & 5th near Crest Theater, Cafe Aroma, and Drumlin. Nice retail area growing in Ridgecrest!

I've been wanting to visit Book Tree for the longest time! As a bibliophile, I try and support…read moresmall bookstores wherever I go as much as possible and Book Tree was a shop that made this easy peasy. We visited Book Tree half an hour before it closed on a Saturday, so when we walked in, there was a small group of people sitting around in a small group. The owner warmly greeted us and mentioned that they had a visiting author here, but if we had any questions or needed help, to let him know. A book shop that has author readings and lectures? LOVE THIS ALREADY. Book Tree is located on Market Street, up the hill from downtown Kirkland. There was even designated street parking just for this store. The space isn't the largest, so they're not going to have everything here. But there are so many treasures to be found! They have a first edition of many books that are affordably priced. Most of the books are used here, which I prefer. But if you're looking for a new book, they have a few of that. You mostly come here, scanning through the shelves, bending down and looking through all sections because some of the books will be misplaced and it's a little untidy. But honestly, I love book stores like this because the hunt for a good book makes it al the more appealing! And you never know what you'll find. I was able to find a book that's not as common and easily found at other stores of one my favorite authors. Score! Book Tree is a must visit for any book worm in Kirkland and beyond! The owner is super friendly and welcoming of dogs and the store has a good selection of books to browse through and take home! I'm so happy to have found this charming book store in Kirkland.
