I had a disappointing experience at this Hobby Lobby location. I approached an employee who appeared to be a manager after hearing a "Code 7" call and seeing her quickly come over to the party decorations section where she was organizing merchandise. I politely said, "Excuse me, ma'am, could I ask for help with something?" Before I could even finish my question, she completely ignored me. She didn't look at me, turn toward me, or acknowledge that I was speaking to her. After waiting a few seconds, I felt awkward and said, "Oh, never mind," and started to walk away. That's when she responded with, "I'm waiting," in a tone that came across as rude and impatient. I then asked whether they had a specific item in stock. She told me no and said she had supposedly placed an order that morning and was waiting for it to arrive, but it never came. The explanation was unclear and not very helpful. What made the experience worse was the overall atmosphere. Several employees seemed unfriendly, and I felt like I was being looked at rudely while shopping. Additionally, there appeared to be numerous employees standing around the checkout area, yet very few were actively helping customers or processing purchases, which was frustrating to see. Customer service can make a huge difference in a shopping experience, and unfortunately, this visit left me feeling unwelcome and dismissed. I always have a really hard time finding anything here...including a person to help me look. About 70% of the store is dedicated to decor, things along the lines of "live laugh love" which ends up really masking the reason I am sure 90% of people go there, which is for supplies. The layout of this store is not intuitive. There were cricut items in 3 different aisles that weren't even near each other. No rhyme or reason. With a store this size, they really need to adopt the Home Depot model where you can look up an item and it tells you what aisle to look in. I was trying to make a craft that I had found on tiktok and I could not find most of what I needed. Spent an hour looking to just get 3 of the 12 things I needed. They were out of weird things too, like all of their scrapbook paper that looks like wood/flooring was gone. And they didn't have green paper. They had a spot for dollhouse mirrors but none available. They seemed to be out of stock of most things, other than the cheesy decor. The prices are great, but the customer service, ease of finding things, selection, and availability keep me dreading a trip there. read more

Shopping at Hobby Lobby in Lynnwood today (Tuesday 19 November 2024) I observed an abundance of Holidays themed merchandise. Oh maybe a good 1/3 of the store was dedicated to 'Tis the Season. The parking lot was packed and there was a number of people shopping, however it was not what I would guess it could be like during peak times. I was on the search for a paper-related gift for my mother. She had been taking drawing type art classes and so I wanted to scope out if they had any instructional books (origami or coloring) or storage containers. I found a few different storage portfolio type items. The option I went with was an accordion-opening style of storage folder for rectangular papers, the other options were for square shaped papers. The workers a very rude. I went in today and was in line and the cashier told me I could run back to grab something real quick. Another worker grabbed my items and told me to go at the back of the line. I had already scanned my items with the cashier. She was very rude and started arguing with me when I had explained what happened. The cashier just stayed quiet. Her name was Carry and she was staring me down from the beginning. She had another worker, Terry, come from the back and try to move me to the back as they contained to take my things from me. Completely disrespectful and unprofessional. Huge store, full of every holiday decor and crafty thing you could possibly be looking for. Tons of regular home decor too. I would guess 65% of their inventory is decor. Their markdowns are great. They do not sell fabric, but Joann Fabrics is across the intersection from them. My daughter was looking for a very specific charm. She wanted a honey pot charm (think Winnie the Pooh)....and they had one!!! I couldn't believe it. They have 1-2 aisles full of just jewelry making supplies. The only reason why this place is getting three stars and not one or zero is because of the size and the amount of just different miscellaneous knick knack items that they that they have that you know is saving them.... When it comes to the management and the employees literally like if you walk in and you're not dressed as what they expect a person to be dressed as if you're wearing any type of you know flair off the wall that you see any stuff then you're instantly categorized and they follow you and they freaking get so daggers of their eyes at you while you're trying to shop and give there their place of work like you know profit and just treat you honestly just like you you're nothing.... A few are you know regular human beings and they you know treat you like you know they should but it's just you turn one corner and if you know a person just told you it asks you if they give you needed help with something and you said no and then you look like you're just in a browsy in the next aisle they literally came up and you know harass you and say I just ask you it looks like that you're kind of confused or you know it's just like yeah and you know I don't need your help especially when you're after me help multiple times you know and within a half an hour time frame. And then on top of that when I finally do find something that I actually want to buy and you know give their freaking and their work establishment you know any type of freaking cash funds from myself instead they make you feel even worse when you get to the register and the management is just sitting there just questioning and everything you know talking to you like you you're freaking prisoner in a different country like having three items in your hand and you leave an item on a shelf or something and they just like you just the way they speak to you it's just very degrading. Updating my review. I really love this store and this chain. This location is my fave one in the Seattle area. It's the biggest one, has the best variety, and the staff are always really helpful. On my most recent visit, I bought so much paint I filled a cart to the BRIM. The cashier was super patient, and I helped her sort the paint out by price for ringing it all up. There was a clearance sale and tubes of paint were as cheap as $0.22, saving me hundreds of dollars. She was so sweet. I was also buying some canvases and at the end, she said she was giving me 50% off the canvases because it was 30 minutes to close and they were going on sale the next day. SCORE! Thank you! In this day, we can buy pretty much anything online, but as an artist, I really love the sight and feel of being able to see what I am getting in real life before purchasing it. Also, I get spontaneous and sometimes I want it NOW. I love being able to come in here and find what I am looking for plus things that I did not expect like acrylic paint that dries looking like leather. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. read more

This store has terrible customer service. I went into to grab some beads because I was making bracelets and it said it was 50% off, so when I went to check out, it rang up full price, so I was like "oh, these are actu-" then she cut me off and said "no, there not," I tried saying it again but the same thing happened. It was one of the worst Hobby Lobby experiences of my entire life. And I am not surprised it has gotten some bad reviews. I don't exactly know the name of the cashier but I was at cashier number 7. The odd thing was was that the lines were huge, so I was waiting there for about 15-20 minutes. But she was nice to everyone else except me, I don't know what I did to offend her but all I did was barely even pull out my credit card. Very disappointed in the customer service here. read more

The WORST craft store (company) in the world. Shitty products and horrible selections. No Halloween or Hanukkah merchandises.

It's a nice enough store. But for some reason 3 of the 5 times I've shopped there the item I want has no price tag. Then comes the call in for a price routine while at the register which further slows up the entire line. I even suggested ringing up the next person so they don't have to wait, she didn't. And as usual there are not enough people doing check out. What really baffles me is that there is a bar code scanner at every register I could see today. But I was told that they do not use bar codes for ringing up purchases. There was even a print out next to the register with several bar codes on it for things they need to enter. If you don't use the bar code scanners like just about EVERY OTHER store then can you please put price tags on EVERYTHING! read more

I walked into this store about 9 mins before closing (I thought they were open untill9PM), but I already knew what i needed so it wasn't a problem. . Within the first 2 mins an employee approached me asking if I was finding everything OK, which I replied yes i am , thank you. Then I was informed that they would be closing in about 5 mins . So I continued to select a few small charms for a project I have been working on. I was approached by 2 different employees in the next 3 mins both asking me and telling me the same thing the first employee told me. I decided to just it go ,even though I was already slightly irritated and insulted about how they were treating me . So I simply smiled and walked up to the register to pay. Which I did, but as I am going to exit , Amanda, the manager on duty told me that she needed to check inside my bag and my purse for " items that were hers " . My purse was a small pleather backpack type purse and never left my back and had a reusable grocery bag that was pretty much as full as I could get it from my stops at the grocery store and Dicks burgers earlier in the day. I don't have a car and I am currently homeless so I don't have the luxury of leaving my stuff behind somewhere without risk of it disappearing. When I told her this and that she could look in my bag and that I was literally only there for a few minutes, she continued to be extremely rude and even started laughing at me. Then she asked to look in my purse again, and asked me if "I took it off my back at all". This is when I decided to return the items I just purchased and told her that she could go ahead and search my stuff while I return what I just bought. She then told me that they weren't allowed to touch my stuff . So I did the return and left after asking her for her supervisor name which she responded by laughing some more at me. It was humiliating to say the least , not to mention a complete waste of my time and her employees as well. I don't understand how a manager in a retail store can be so rude and treat a paying customer like dirt. I would suggest she finds a different occupation because last I checked , treating people with respect is a pretty important part of customer service . But apparently not at this store. read more

The store is a maze of stuff. I came in for a specific item and after going up and down aisles, I finally asked where it was in the store. They weren't sure so they directed me to one department. They didn't know either so they directed me to two other departments, neither which had it. It would have been really nice, since they consider themselves a Christian store, to walk me to where the item would be or possibly have a locator like most large stores have. Five stars for the framing department. They will put a wire on the back of your frame for $3, usually while you wait. I asked Joannes across the street for the same thing (after waiting about 10 minutes for someone to answer the bell). Joannes wanted to charge $15!!!!!!! I told them Hobby Lobby did it for $3, they changed the price to $5 with a 2 week wait. I'm heading directly to Hobby Lobby from now on. And taking my 50% off frames from Joanne's there. I came with my husband and sons to look at their 4th of July projects. As soon as we walked in the door, we were yelled at by not one but three people for having a Safeway cart instead of their cart. It's a huge shopping center and we grabbed the closest cart to our car. Upon entering, we found little to no selection, and although we picked some items to purchase, we waited in a line that didn't even move... so we put our items in our cart and left. We will not be returning and I do not recommend. Worst experience ever. read more

I don't get to Hobby Lobby nearly as often as I'd like, and that may be perhaps a good thing. If it were more accessible, I'd be spending way too much. The store is large, well organized, and had more craft supplies and home decor than you can imagine. I'm not a crafty person, I like decor. There was plenty to choose from, and the prices were more than fair. Their seasonal decor is second to none. I found the check out staff very friendly and knowledgeable, but the floor staff is sparse. You have to be attentive to the quality of some items because they aren't always top of the line. However, if what you want is some fun decor for your home, just the right craft supplies for your project, or just a fun shopping experience, I can absolutely recommend Hobby Lobby. read more

I went here because they were the only ones in town that had specific items I needed for a bachelorette party. I don't agree with some of the things this company has publicly said or done, but they do have a good selection of goods. I called ahead and had my items placed on hold. While they could only hold items for the day, they were knowledgeable about the items and knew what I was asking about right away. I finally made it in there tonight and was pleased with the checkout process as well as the store layout. Parking was a breeze and the lady working at the checkout was friendly and helpful. While not my first choice for craft supplies, I wouldn't rule this company out simply for the actions and voices of a few. The location can be difficult to access if you've never been there before. You can't turn left from 99 northbound (Aurora) into the shopping center. You either need to turn left at the light before the Safeway shopping center or if you're driving westbound on 196th hang a right after the intersection of 99. If you happen to be driving southbound on 99 you can just turn right into the shopping center. read more

Very very happy to find this great store! The store is very similar to JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels. The store is huge, clean and well stocked. The prices are competitive, with some killer values. The biggest win, the staff actually smiles and appears to enjoy their jobs. When you walk into the store, you get a good feeling and items are arranged very well in terms of ease to find. This store hands down is superior to Michaels and the nearby JoAnn Fabrics. I look forward to many great shopping trips here, and love the fact the store is closed on Sundays. read more

i am not one to write reviews but i am still in shock at the customer service at this store. i walked in without even being greeted by a hello and at such aggressiveness. i had bought something online that came broken and had called earlier in the day to check inventory. the girl on the phone was pleasant and reserved the item for me and i explained to her how i just need to exchange my broken one that i bought online. she said no problem. i drive 40 mins to this store and was immediately told "oh you're the broken item- we can't accept it. you guys really need to read the online return policy before you come in" when i had already been told by an employee at this location that it was fine to do so. if this is the case, all employees need to be on the same page, but also a little kindness goes a long way. extremely upset and disappointed read more

I had some pictures custom framed here (all in one frame, with mattes cut out for each picture). I used a 50% off coupon for custom framing (although it was only for the frame, NOT the entire order, unlike places like Aaron' Bros) which made it not quite as outrageously priced as it would have been. I really hate that without 50% off coupons and sales, this place is actually high-priced. The markup is ridiculous. If you need something immediately and can't wait for a sale, you are going to get hosed here. I was unimpressed with the customer service--only one person working the framing counter both times I went, despite there being more than one person working in the framing dept., and I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time (over half an hour) while another customer dinked around and wasn't even placing an order; just asking general questions. In that time, no one asked me if I needed to place an order or could be helped, despite the fact that I was obviously waiting with pictures in hand to be framed. So when I ordered, it took myself and the framing department lady several minutes to figure out the math for how to space the pictures appropriately. Neither of us were very good at calculating, which is a shame, seeing as how that's part of her job. I then picked out the matte and frame I liked, and was on my way. A few days later, I get a call from the framing lady saying she goofed and the matte I had chosen didn't come in a big enough size to accommodate my picture. Eh, no biggie; everyone makes mistakes. So I went back in and picked out an alternative matte. When I went to pick up my order a few weeks later (it would have been ready on Sunday, but they aren't open on Sunday. Regardless of this, they still had the "ready to pick up date" as Sunday. Huh), I was flabbergasted to see that my beautiful custom wood frame was cut HORRIBLY on the mitered edges. The dark carved wood pattern not only didn't match up at the corners, you could see BARE WOOD sticking up where the pattern's relief was left exposed from the miter cuts. It looked pretty shoddy. Also, when I got it home I measured the matte because something looked wonky with that as well. Sure enough, the matte was not equidistant all the way around the edges of the pictures. It was a huge headache and by that point I was just done. I wandered around this store and noticed lots of cheap made-in-China items; lots of tacky "decor" crap that people of certain tastes like to clutter up their houses with. Very south/midwestern "glam," if you will. I also researched them and they don't use bar code scanners as a way to "save money"--save them money, that is. That explains why the lines are so long. read more

My favorite thing to shop for at hobby lobby is holiday items. They are always on major sale, you can get a giant cart full of items for $50. It can be totally ridiculous. I really like their framing department - I've gotten a few things framed there and a photo canvas wrapped. All I can say is WOW!!! My wife brought me into this place for the first time today because she said I just had to check it out. Boy I am glad that I did. This place is absolutely HUGE!!! It puts Michael's to shame and I like Michael's, plus they have a wider selection of items. The possibilities are endless here. If I wanted to I could easily spend an entire day here just looking around. I mean they have everything from scrap booking supplies, fabrics, frames and custom frames, candles, decorative items and furniture for your house, and anything you need to put you creative minds to work. While walking through today I noticed that there were sections where some of the items were 66% off, plus if you go onto their website you can get a 40% coupon for any regular priced item, so make sure you look for coupons before going in because you are going to need them. I myself couldn't imagine walking out of this place without buying something. I honestly cannot tell you how many cool items I just wanted to throw into my basket. I know that when my daughter gets older she is going to love this place because she was pointing at different things saying "Oh Wow," it was the cutest thing ever. I have heard good things about this place from various friends and family but sadly there is not one really convenient to my house. I just happened to be in the area on this particular day and thought I would pop in. Now I could see how one could literally spend ALL DAY in that store. They have a bunch of stuff like home decor to arts and crafts. I was actually looking for something specific - baking supplies. While they seemed to have a decent selection, it was really nothing I hadn't seen before at Michael's or Joann's so I left empty handed. The prices seemed average too and fair. Per another reviewer, it looks like they have a coupon app which is ALWAYS great. Its is the 21st century after all and who the hell clips coupons?! Not this girl and even if I do (like bed bath and beyond) I have to put them in my car because 99.99% of the time, I forget them. The staff was super friendly. I asked an sale associate if she could point me in the direction of the tie dying supplies and she said would like to walk me over there. So nice & helpful! This is a great store. Has all the crafty and home decor things anyone would need. Its very similar to Joannes and Michaels, but I have found their prices to be more reasonable on most things. Plus, they send out a weekly coupon for 40% off any regular priced item. Their sales rotate weekly, for ex. If wedding stuff is on sale one week, the next week might be frames and scrapbooking. Basically I never pay full price for anything. I was a little peeved by another review talking about the women who shop there. I didn't realize this site was used to review the shoppers and not the store? As far as being closed Sundays, there are a lot of places closed on Sundays. Who cares what reason it might be? I was so happy to hear we were getting a Hobby Lobby here! I used to shop there where I'm from and have truly missed it. Only I hadn't realized how much! So so so much crafty stuff!!! I made myself only get what I went for (craft paint and scrapbook paper) and only browsed a little beyond that. I was really pleased with the paper selection and surprised to see that they carried a brand that I like that has glitter on it and even happier to find that it was $1.00 - $1.50 per sheet cheaper than where I usually get it. "My, oh My!!" that was exact words came out my mouth when I stepped in Hobby Lobby the first time. It .... is ... HUGE!!! Full of my beloved crafty items!! Soap making, glass painting, handbag hardwares, candles, fabrics, scrapbooking, paper, stickers, frames, stencil, rubber stamps, ink, scissors, tools, .. and whole lot of other items. The other day I went there thinking to pick up a piece of 'just red' paper for my scrapbook and ... I got a full isle of different tone, pattern, design, texture of red (and beyond) paper to choose from. My creative juice definitely pumping up and that's what crafts is about .. You got choices and be creative!! Anyway, I have to literally remind myself don't go too crazy (or too often) or go bankruptcy!!! This store becomes my first stop shop if I need to pick up crafty items. If I cannot find it, then, I"ll check out Michael's or Joann's (or if I have to get an item on Sunday (they close on Sunday), then, I'll seek out alternatives). Staff works there are very helpful and often give me good advice on pairing up items to make better crafts. I didn't give a full 5 stars because the price is not the lowest I can find. This place absolutely ROCKS my socks! They have all the home decor needs you could ever want/need! I spent 2 hours in this place and probably still didnt see half of it! The outside permeter is all crafting supplies, and the whole center of the store is home decor. The prices are great too! I have been searching for "W's" for a "W" wall that I saw on Pinterest. I have not been able to find any W's anywhere.... until now... until Hobby Lobby... Man-OH-Man, what a gold mine!! I bought 6 W's (and thats not even every W they had!) I also got 2 wall plaques with sayings, a bottle of paint, and a canvas ALL FOR $40!! Almost everything was 50% off! Maybe I just came on the right day, but man this place is fantastic!!
