If like me, you grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio eating Myles' pizza, to say this will hit you like a nostaligic pile of bricks is the understatement of the year. We were a Myles family, so much so, as I grew up, I was often shocked and confused to see there were *other* varieties of pizza to pick from, because all I knew was dense crust, sauce with a sharp tang, and an insane amount of cheese on top. On top is KEY, as Myle's & HTP is CHEESE FORWARD. Long story short, it's taken me *way too long* to get to Half Time Pizza, and now I regret how much time I've missed out on eating this goddamn delicious food. Delicious pizza! On first visit, I looked at a pizza with tons of cheese on top, but didn't see other toppings and wondered if we had made a mistake. But when picked up the slice, realized it was packed with toppings buried under a mound of delicious melted cheese! The crust was perfect thickness to support the weight of all these goodies. We now only go to Halftime for pizza! The variety of toppings is a plus. If they have not sold out, they frequently have brownies and other tasty desserts. read more

We visited Half-Time pizza last night for supper. Oh my! The best sauce ever! Perfectly spicy!! I do not care for sauce, but I think the next time, I will ask for a couple of extra cups just to take home for my own personal use. I did neglect to snap a photo. Great pizza. If you're looking for a pizza similar to Myles pizza of Bowling Green fame, this is it! Toppings are piled high and great ingredients are added. The taste is all there. Love that it tastes great reheated! Service is cheerful though it will take a little longer to be ready. This pizza is a beast! One of my favorites! Myles THIS, Myles THAT...Myles, Myles, Myles...yeah, yeah, yeah. So, ok, the pizza here is very similar to the pizza from (the locally famous but now defunct) Myles, which was located right across Wooster Street from BGSU. Note that Pizza Pub 516, which is currently located on the site of the former Myles, also has a very similar product, but HTP is MORE similar. What the hell does any of that mean? It means that Half Time Pizza serves pies with a crust is that is thick and chewy. It means that the sauce is ample, tangy, and not too sweet. It means that there are plenty of toppings situated between the sauce and the cheese. (I'm not saying that the toppings are crazy plentifully, like pies from Village Idiot, but the toppings are there.) But mostly what "Myles-like" means, is CHEESE. It means lots of good cheese, perfectly cooked...and it means shit tons of it. Let the words "double cheese" never be uttered while ordering a pizza from Half Time Pizza. I, and my family, really liked this pizza. 20 bucks for a large 1/2 pep, and 1/2 Hawaiian might seem a little steep, but for your dough, you get a LOT of dough (and sauce, and toppings, and CHEESE!) This pie fed me and my kids for approximately 2.5 meals. The big, repeat, BIG problem with this establishment is the wait time. Maybe it's a COVID-19 thing? Now, I'm familiar with the expression: "Good things come to boys who wait," but waiting for 1 to 2 hours (or longer) for a pie is crazy! Ain't no way cooking time is THAT long. There's just no way in the world that I'm planning that far ahead for pizza. HTP needs to invest in another oven, and, and maybe more help. There's a full "pizza parlor menu," with subs, salads, etc. I haven't tried any of these yet. All in all, it's exciting to have another good pizza option in this part of town. It's right on my way home. But, man, those wait times. It's true that one's ability to delay gratification is roughly proportionate to one's IQ...so, I guess I'm a dumb ass because I probably won't be ordering too many pies from Half Time Pizza. Had a slice of pepperoni pizza. Very good flavor on the sauce, great cheese, pepperoni on the mild side and could use a little more flavor, pizza crust was very good a little less flop and it would be perfect. Tried a chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie also very good. Staff were friendly. Very clean old variety of other hard to find items in the store. A great place to stop. A year ago, I would have given 5 stars and told you to run - not walk - to try Half Time. Unfortunately, the last 3 times we've had it, there has been a dip in quality and quantity of cheese and toppings. I still admire the owner's innovation and obvious dedication. But, we won't be going back anytime too soon. This past weekend, we ordered a pan pizza with meatballs and pepperoni, a thin crust chicken pesto, a cheese bread with pepperoni, a cup of sauce and two sides of ranch for a get together. Picking up the pizzas, they were heavy, which gave me hope that it was back to perfection. But, the weight was mostly crust. The pan pizza looked great, but once looking under the sauce and cheese, disappointment followed. There were pieces that didn't any meatballs or pepperoni on them so they were just chewy, salty and sad. The thin chicken pesto was still pretty thick on the crust but had a good amount of toppings. Still though, the cheese was half of what we used to receive. The bread was the star of the show. A year ago, I would have said Half Time was a bit pricey, but you get quality and quantity. However, our order was $69, and it was simply not worth it. I hope Half Time reconnects with the former quality and quantity in the future as they were a phenomenal addition to the Toledo pizza scene. read more

Listen, I spent my years at BG devouring Myles pizza. My heart broke when they closed and Half Time pieced it back together, applied a generous amount of cheese and heated it up. I am now restored again to my fat kid self knowing that Myles memory is served well by this fine establishment. Cheese on top of cheese. Meat on top of meat and finally a good strong crust to make sure that cheese and meat are ushered safely to your mouth. Absolutely worth the investment if you love a hearty northern Ohio Pizza. Dinned in for the first time today and was very impressed. Dinning area looks updated and clean. We ordered a medium cheese pizza and breadsticks. Breadsticks came out first with Ranch and Marinara for dipping and they were delicious. The ranch tastes like the ranch from campus polleyes, which is my favorite! The pizza then came out and looked amazing! Super cheesy, you have to eat the first couple of bites with a knife and fork. Easily now one of my favorite pizza places. My family loves Half Time Pizza. The amount of toppings is exceptional, and the crust is always well done. I am particularly fond of the tomato sauce used. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than most pizzas, but you will never feel cheated on ingredients. Typically, a pizza takes half an hour after ordering to be ready. Half-Time is literally a 4-course meal, as a large pie will make it four (4) meals for me and I'm stuffed eating just 2 slices. Great pizza all the way around! I saw the story on the news, and got there as soon as possible. Totally worth the trip from Monroe, MI...my parents took me to Myles Pizza Pub as a kid, and it was always a favorite until they closed down. If you were ever a fan, go here. Ordered a large pepperoni and a large mushroom, and they were exactly like I remember Myles. I don't like to be negative. But I have to comment. They got a great write up in the Toledo Blade, so we couldn't wait to try it. Got the 14" pizza and the weight of the box was our first warning. Only had two items on it, regular crust. I am so glad I did not order extra cheese....I love cheese.....but the amount of the cheese was actually disgusting. Gobs of thick cheese, not edible. In fact I just put the box in the garbage from last Friday because we never ate the remainder (almost all of it) and garbage is tomorrow. Ordered a light baked meat pizza and cheesy bread. First time customer. Husband drove 9 miles to pick it up. Pizza box was stapled shut. When opened I had the blackest pizza I've ever seen. Could not bite into not cut the crust. Called them. They asked for it to be brought back right then to receive credit or do a remake. Meanwhile it's another 9 miles there and 9 back and 6 ppl waiting on dinner. The "cheesy bread" is just a sub bun with tons of butter and cheese on it. Needless to say I ordered from somewhere else instead of wasting our dinner time driving back and waiting for another pizza. read more

Ok, so I was so excited to hear about this pizza joint supposedly being owned by prior Myles pizza folks. And since I'm a BGSU grad I had to give it a shot. Called in to order and was told 2.5 hours. Completely understandable, and it only made me more excited! Talked the pizza up big time to my kids and had them excited as well. Went to get the pie (large pep and a side of cheese bread) and the wait for new orders was 4 hours. WOW! As we were waiting in line I see them pulling pizzas ouT of the oven and I got nervous. Roughly 25% of the pizza had burnt crust. I thought to myself, not a good start. Got ours home and of course it had the same aMount or burnt crust. I mean, really burnt. Throw away and not even try dipping, burnt. The pizza itself was worth the hype and wait. Brought me right back to 1994 BG! I talked it up too much for my kids. They didn't think it was a home run by any means and my wife's first comment was, what's up with the burnt crust?! There is better pizza in town (Idiot, Mama Mary) but Halftime is good. I will be back but not worth the long waits. Would have given 3 stars but nostalgia earned it an extra star. Owners, get your oven calibrated so it cooks evenly! read more

All the reviews said it would be well done, so I did not ask for it to be well done... we ordered 5 pies and only 2 were cooked well done semi disappointing but now I know to ask. I give it 5 stars because I was a Myles regular and Half Time has continued the tradition of their over-the-top pizza. Allegedly run by previous Myles employees. This pizza is precisely what I look for in a pizza, with the thick crust and absurd amounts of toppings. It is expensive, for pizza, but not too bad, and you definitely get what you pay for. I haven't tried any of their other offerings yet, as I am focused on the pizza. It is so hearty that it will last a reasonable person 2 or 3 meals. I am not that person. read more

Once was enough. Ordered pizza 45 min wait. Arrived to pick order. Told order not even put in. Waited another 25 mins. They were apologetic and gave us the pizza for free. However, got home, opened the box to a blob of cheese. Looked like a four year old sliced the pizza. Some slices were wide, some were like slivers. Funny, but sad. Lots of cheese. Sparc on other toppings. Since I was starving I dug in anyway. All that cheese looked good, but was rather bland tasting. The sauce was also bland. The crust was like cardboard. So again starving, scraped the cheese and the little bit of pepperoni off of the cardboard crust, added a few spices and lots of salt (to bring out any flavor that might be there). Microwaved the pile, till warm. Ate some at least. Wondering if it was real mozzarella cheese or imitation. So, sorry but our first visit was also our last. My wife thinks this was too harsh a review, since the employees were so nice. Others may love this type of pizza. But alas, I did not. Should have ordered the real MOZZARELLA. A new place in the neighborhood. In my opinion the best quality Pizza Pie in the area. Today was my second pick-up order and I was even more pleased than the first time. The first time elicited two thumbs up reviews from everyone in our office. So we tried again today since we cant go out to lunch due to the lockdown. They are very generous with the toppings. Pepperoni is not simply dotted on the top, but is stacked two and three deep under a mountain of cheese. When they hand you the box you will be surprised at how heavy it is.
