With all the brainrot type of scenes that our tweens and teens are getting into, this place is a safe, clean space for our young children to flourish in their dancing. There is a positive energy and there isn't that "I'm being super cool/flashy" vibes that you would typically find at a regular dance studio. Kids are in regular t-shirts, the music is clean, the instructors are super good at what they do and very encouraging. The kids LOVE coming here. This place is a gem! Not to mention their incredibly affordable prices. The quality of the classes for what they offer can't be beat! Thankful for these kind folks to use their God given gifts for the good of humanity!

My friend recommended me and me being decisive, I thought why not the class schedule works so let's give it a try. I'm glad I did!! My son LOVES it and within 3 min of starting the class, he had a big smile on his face and he can't wait to go back to the class. The best thing about the studio is the teacher, Rev. He runs the studio, teach, he is funny, great with kids and he make them feel so welcome. That is so important especially for kids, first they have to love it to want to continue it! Also in case any other moms, dads and caregivers care like I did - it's hip hop, and he picks the songs which are age appropriate :) This December they organized a holiday performance and that was fun. Many pop ups and kids shop & dance. He was running a show all by himself- unless I knew there was someone else - and never losing a smile on his face and greet everyone who came. Thank you Rev for a great studio! It was my dream for my son to dance, not only he does but he loves and can't wait to go back to studio! Though due to the distance between the girl and I, we weren't able to attend any of of the mentor/mentee activities that took place in the South Bay. However, we made our own calendar and did our thing in the last two years such as miniature golfing, Afternoon Tea, mani/pedis , and finding new restaurants and dessert places around OC to visit every time we got together. Walk With Sally is a nonprofit organization located in the South Bay, that pairs mentors with kids whose parent had either passed away from cancer or is currently battling cancer. They are trying to branch out to other cities (when I joined 2 years ago - I was probably the first mentor that they paired with a child that was not in the South Bay.) Give them call even if you are not in the South Bay and ask if they have child near your city that you could mentor. It's such a great organization in that some of the mentors in the program were kids who had lost a parent - and as an adult they have chosen to give back to the organization that had helped them through one of the hardest times of their lives. All they ask is that you dedicate 8-10 hours a month to your mentee. It could be one day a month where you spend the day together, or a couple hours a week. Hopefully through that friendship, you'll be able to make an impact on each other's lives and make a difference. Cheers!

Walk with Sally is an organization that provides mentoring support programs and services to children (ages 7-17) who have parents or siblings with cancer. In many cases, the children in the program have one or both parents going through end stage cancer and are in need of a friend who has been through a similar trial with cancer. Having gone through the same thing at 22, when my Mom passed away after a five year battle with cancer, this has a been a touching way to give back and honor the amazing people who supported me through one of the most challenging periods of my life. Being a mentor is not only about the disease, but is one on one time with a child who for all intents just wants to be a kid. WWS organizes many events like for the mentors and mentees like ice-skating at Toyota Center, attending baseball games, star-watching at the Observatory, or just hanging out and being kids together. As we reflect on the New Year's and our goals to be more selfless and to make a change in the world, I wanted to post this business as an awareness and also as a suggestion for making a positive impact in the New Year. For requesting more information on mentorship, all you have to do is visit the website and perhaps talk with the program director Zina about attending an information session. There are children waiting for matches all throughout LA, so please don't worry about proximity to the the Torrance office. This has been a great organization and an experience that continues to give back to me much more than I could put into words or give to it. There is the thrift store (that accepts clothing donations, etc.) as well as a food bank for those who need the extra help feeding their families. Parking is limited, they do have a lot right behind the store but there are only about 10 or 12 spots. I was lucky to find one they day I went to donate about four large bags of clothes. If there aren't any available, you'll have to either park in the neighborhood or on the main street. You can carry them inside or, if you need help, they will bring a cart out to you. Depends on how busy they are when you visit. Goodwill is great but I like that this place is local. Hope you decide to donate here, or, if you are shopping, that you find something you like. Enjoy! I saw a 15yr old being surrendered online and went next day. Couldn't not do anything after seeing a senior seeem so confused and scared. The shelter didn't seem too dirty. Looks like they did the best they can to maintain cleanliness. When I went in and the person helping me was nice and friendly. Not like they're excited which I don't expect them to or anything but they were polite and nice, and spoke softly. She gave me instructions and went to see the senior dog. A volunteer who was really nice as well and provided info and didn't rush me while being in the playpen meeting the senior. Helped me with questions I had and provided me extra info. The volunteer I let has a lot of love for the animals. It's not Disneyland or anything so I don't expect the workers to be overly excited or being extra happy. I don't think I could be happy working there but I do appreciate the people working there. The whole process probably took me an hour and that includes meeting the dog in the playpen.
