Our server Mark was great and explained the menu and popular dishes. We started off with crab cakes and had the branzino, sea scallops and lam chops for the main course. My daughter had grilled chicken and french fries. BTW, the french fries were delicious! We all enjoyed our meals. My lamb chops were perfectly cooked at medium-rare but a little under seasoned. They brought me a salt and pepper mill to season the chops. I was a little surprised that they were under seasoned. I asked for iced tea refills and they were obliging. The meal was moderately priced but for the ambiance and good quality, it was worth it. The service was spot on with plenty of staff attending to our needs. The most challenging part of our experience was finding parking. There's plenty of metered street parking and limited parking lots near the Manhattan Beach pier.

Belamar review…read more Overall a great hotel and , if I can secure a similar great price, I and my family will happily stay again! The highlights: - the staff were wonderful (all around). The front desk staff were courteous at every step in the process (check in, questions throughout stay, following up on a few small issues that occurred) and at checkout. The valet staff were wonderful. They worked REALLY hard to ensure cars were ready in five minutes (often less than that) from when you requested it (via text) and the restaurant staff was very courtesy and the food was good - Valet was quick (I can't emphasize this enough). I was slightly annoyed that it was valet only (with a rental car I get a wary of others driving) however they were fast, courteous, and kept the car cool for me. Also, I recommend paying for valet when you book as I had the option to buy $25/night parking instead of $45/night parking where booking on the Hilton app. - Use of the hotels bicycles was a major highlight. I rented bikes twice. At the time of my stay (May 2026) there were only four bikes. They are first come first serve so I recommend renting in the morning. They had baskets and came with locks and helmets for a very affordable price. The staff (especially Ozzie) was great at getting them quickly rented out to us and showing us the features (they are one speed bikes so they are basic but perfect for cruising along the beach). - The room was spacious, clean, and had a mini bar fridge in it (with the option for a full fridge and access to a microwave near the business center). I appreciated the ability to tip the staff virtually with credit card in case you don't have cash. - The restaurant was convenient, service was good, and the food was good - Noise level wasn't bad, I had a room facing the main road and wished I would have booked a courtyard room, however the noise was barely noticeable and never a disruption (I come from a city where I am use to ambient noise) The not so great things - For late night gym goers, the gym is limited to 6am-10pm (probably because the gym is beside several guest rooms and they want to be courteous to those rooms). However the gym is well stocked small gym (three treadmills, a peloton, and several different racks of weights and areas for stretching) - The hallways smelt a bit dank when I first arrived (although the rooms themselves smelt very fresh) and I noticed several automated deodorizers in the hallways (likely to help with this) and staff were doing a comprehensive carpet cleaning when I checked out so I would expect this not to be the case in the future. - The indoor/outdoor pool was a bit dated and didn't leave much to be desired, but it's an option.. for those who don't prefer the beach and there were towels available.

My son was VERY reluctant in the beginning, he's a great swimmer but just apprehensive towards new groups and activities but Coach Kyle and the entire staff were so welcoming and supportive from the beginning. By the 2nd week my son was more eager and engaged and by 3rd week he wanted to show up early and get some practice laps. By the time he had to take the swim test he had so many timed practice sessions under his belt and was well on his way for passing and felt very prepared. He's doing his first Jr. Guards session this summer and already doing great thanks to Coach Kyle and the entire MCC aquatics staff. Cant thank them enough!!

Some months ago I was repeatedly lied to by Club management staff in response to my reporting outages of many of the jacuzzi's jets that rendered the facility essentially inoperative for all but a single user at a time. After being assured that the matter would be addressed, I was told that the wet area's maintenance manager had inspected the facility and found my complaint baseless. When I refused to accept this lie, the member of Club management I was dealing with assured me she would personally inspect the facility and get back to me. She did not. I then asked another member of the Club staff to accompany me to the facility (he did), verify the legitimacy of my complaint (he did), and inform the management staff member I'd been dealing with that he had done so. After this, however, I heard nothing more about the matter, from her or anyone else, for weeks. I had, finally, to take the matter to another member of the Club management staff. This person referred it to the Club's top manager, from whom I finally received an admission that my complaint was legitimate and an assurance that replacements for the dysfunctional parts were on order. So I was hardly surprised to learn, not long thereafter, that this same Club's management had been reported in the news media for lying about its day-care personnel having injured a child in its custody. It seems to be a business practice.

The privacy screen around the tub was cool along with the blue led lighting in the room. The shower was basic but clean and hot, and that is always appreciated. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds in a hotel I have ever experienced. Only down note was they had a private event we did not know about and the bar area and patio were closed, which was unexpected as we wanted drinks so we ordered in room, but not the experience was we had hoped for. Also the noise level was quite loud until 9:45pm but it was over and done at the point. Rooftop pool was on the smaller side, but the area was quaint. We will probably come again!

With that being said it is an absolutely beautiful hotel, for certain people with certain tastes and styles, honestly it wasn't for me. First off, they offered a welcome margarita, which is a nice gesture and takes away the blow of the bill I guess, if you drink alcohol, which I don't. I would have gone for a snack but they didn't offer. They told me that the resort fee allows you a few special things: one was to get a discount for Equinox while you're in town. I laughed when they told me that because I'm on vacation and while I'm all about fitness, I'm not about to go to Equinox and workout, plus I was only here one night passing by. They also said to go to one of their restaurants in town and tell them that you are staying at the Shade Hotel and they will take care of me. I thought that was really nice. The third perk to this resort fee was that you got a credit at the bar it was $20 towards food or drink. I was told that if I don't use the credit at the restaurant or bar that they will put that money towards my bill and credit me at the end. I'll touch on that later. I walk into my room and I thought I was going to have a seizure or that a migraine would come on soon because they had these hideous neon blue lights bordering the bar in the room and the bed. I thought it was so tacky and awful like I was in Vegas or even better Atlantic City. The room was absolutely enormous and I had a balcony but these lights were so bright and blinding I knew there was no way this was going to fly for the night. I went downstairs and the guy explained to me how I could dim them. Baby, I don't want dim I want off. Luckily when I got back up to the room I was able to dial them completely off. The room got much better at this point except for the jacuzzi tub smack dab in the middle of the room, next to my bed, literally. It was so odd. SO odd. The bathroom vanity was open concept, jacuzzi tub then my bed. It was not for me. They had these door things you could use to close the area off, but I just have one question, why? Why was this an idea that came to fruition? The toilet had a separate area with a door. I don't know, it was weird to me. Also, alcohol everywhere in the room, bottles upon bottles. Snacks for purchase, drinks in the fridge for purchase, the usual. The amount of alcohol was shocking to me though. The TV was pretty small and awkwardly positioned a bit from the bed, the bed was comfy enough, had a good night sleep. Woke up the next morning and upon check out just double checked to make sure that the $20 would be credited to my room if I didn't use it at the bar and they said that's not a thing and they don't do that. So I'm not sure what the guy was talking about the night before. Anyways, I didn't want anything to drink so I grabbed two orders of fruit to go. This fruit, lol. It was wildly expensive for what I got I'll leave it at that. Some melon, berries, it was disappointing. Very loud at night I will say that they had the music going late, which I'm not ever going to complain about in the moment but I'm just mentioning it. What else what else. Perfect location, walking distance to everything, extremely convenient. Try it you may love it! Still think it deserves a good review because it was very clean, that's number one priority in a hotel for me.

Thank you guys so much for making our event a party to remember!
