I've been to multiple baseball fields at the minor league level and this has to be one of my favorites! It's large, clean, and has a hometown feel. From the parking attendants to the gift/snack shops, I felt welcomed. Parking was $10 and food was reasonable considering it's a sporting event. Domino's Pizza was on-site with a small booth! Constellation field has burgers, chicken, hot dogs, fries, tea, and other staples like popcorn and chips. If you have kids, they have you covered here! I spent most of my money on collectible pins, a hat, jersey, and other gifts for my folks back home. I spotted three large gift shops with great items. I picked up every single enamel pin, lol. The store had snap backs, trucker hats, and dad caps. Shirts ranged from hokey to hipster. I felt like most of their jerseys needed a slight revamp, however I was able to find a neat one! Constellation Field has excellent seats, some shaded areas, and a massive lawn behind the bullpen. I spotted many families pull up their chairs and blankets. The area is quite inviting, it's also an affordable option for large families or groups with small children. Players interacted with fans on the lawn! I paid for a seat near home plate, it was about $13 bucks. I opted to stand and enjoy a refreshing drink at the viewing counter behind my section. I LOVE when stadiums have counters lined across the field. It's perfect for guests who want to stand or escape the sun. Personally, I had just arrived from a long flight so I wanted to stretch my legs, this was wonderful. Scoreboards and signage have an authentic Texan aesthetic. The largest scoreboard is shaped like the state of Texas and the numbers/lettering have a spacey vibe. Murals across Constellation are stunning, I especially love the ones featuring the Space Cowboys logo and Orion the mascot. Oh! Don't forget to take a picture with the large Astros championship ring, I forgot to like a dork! The parking lot is massive, I parked my little Kia Soul in a safe environment. I felt secure and comfortable.

That is until recently when a group of friends and I wanted to do something out of our norm and check out something new to all of us. Introducing the Houston Sabercats, Houston's major league rugby team. The stadium is located right off 288 south of the loop, and right before entering entering into Pearland city limits. I drive by and see the signs daily coming and going from work, but never saw the stadium up close. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting a crowd but was totally surprised driving up and seeing a packed lot with people tailgating. Let me tell you, the fan base was very diverse from young and old and they supported their team proudly. Excitement was in the air which pumped me up as well. Ticket prices were reasonable considering there really isn't a bad seat in the house. There's all kinds of stuff happening in and around the stadium. They have different vendors selling merch, food, and drinks. Platypus Brewing had their own set up right when you walk in, but they also had little tents popped up around selling different food and drinks. There was also another area selling liquor. Merch was pretty spendy, but people were buying them up. The game itself was very fun to watch. I still have alot to learn as far as the rules goes. I would compare it to football, but alot tougher as these guys are going at it with little to no padding. The game itself was entertaining & our team tore our opponents to pieces. They had a good amount of pop up tents/vendors selling variety of stuff. They had a beer table, snacks, lemonade stand, alcohol stand. & if you want your ball park food they also have a concession stand. The lines moved very fast but they were out of a lot of items. I wanted a hot dog but they were out of it so I ordered their cheeseburger. Which I thought tasted okay. My favorite was their lemonade stand. For 3 dollars a cup I thought that was pretty cheap considering everything is expensive at the ball park. They do have a good amount of parking but it's definitely a hassle and chaotic when everyone is exiting the parking lot. Parking is 15 bucks which is ridiculous for a rugby game but you gotta make money so I ain't mad at it. Overall, it was a great experience and I can't wait to come back for another game. You wanna avoid the chaos parking? Take uber.

The stadium itself is about as fancy as they come. It honestly felt like something out of the movie Drumline. There is a massive amount of seating across multiple levels, plenty of concession stands, and parking options all around the venue. Parking is not free and can be expensive. I would recommend using Uber, Lyft, or a taxi if possible, since parking fills up quickly for events. During halftime, concession lines were long as expected, but they moved fairly fast. We had great seats and were able to see the fireworks clearly, which was a nice bonus. That said, the seating is fairly tight, so personal space can be limited. One important heads up is to be mindful of seat placement. The sun was beaming directly down on us, and it was extremely hot. Overall, visiting this stadium was an enjoyable experience, even for someone who does not care much for football.

Very clean Stadium very very clean restrooms food choices were great they even have Trill burger here which is my young man's favorite. And they also stem camps that's linked with University of Houston as well as options for high school and middle school children to attend these games. Rice recently installed 3 very nice grills, which had added to the convenience now that we don't have to bring our own! There are also some picnic tables set up too. The rest of the stadium is awesome too. Very clean and comfortable, with new amenities such as The Roost where you can grab beer (I have not been inside yet, but it looks nice from the outside). Clean restrooms, a variety of food options, and comfortable chairs (though some are less shaded than others) add to a pleasant spectator experience.

Firstly, this was the same venue that hosted Houston's Phi Slama Jama teams that included Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Young, and Clyde Drexler. Before Toyota Center, even before the Summit/Compaq Center, Houston had Hofheinz Pavilion. This was the original home of the Houston Rockets when they moved here. It hosted live acts such as Elton John, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, The Jackson 5, Madonna, Genesis, Prince, and Bob Dylan to name few. Yes, this place is a bit dated looking, but it most definitely looks nothing like a high school arena. Hofheinz Pavilion seats about 8,500 spectators, has multiple video screens, etc. The University of Houston has announced $40 million in upgrades, and already blows all other basketball arenas in the Houston area away minus the Toyota Center and Reliant Arena. This place is underrated.

Not many smiles and I witnessed some downright rude behavior toward people in attendance. Come on people, if you hate your job that much, QUIT! The people in attendance are there to celebrate their friends and loved ones academic accomplishments. It is a great day for them. Pretty petty and selfish to put a damper on that experience just because you are having to work on a Saturday or whatever lame excuse you try to justify your actions with!!!
