Awesome area! Hard to find on maps bc there isn't a frontage road anymore. Also they let you bring your own food and snacks, you can even order food to the location ! Although Tank's was a bit out of the way for us this experience was very much worth it. This was our first time here but after this past weekend, it will definitely not be our last. Our party had a reservation and Ryan was the field instructor who did a great job explaining the rules and taking care of us during our reservation. He was very personable and made a great effort to maximize our full two hours fully. I would highly recommend it if this is your first time or the hundredth time. They do a great job of keeping the parties engaged and on time. My son has had his bday party here for the last 4 years, and it's always a successful party. He usually has 8-10 guests and everyone has a blast. Rain or shine, they keep things going. (Today, we got POURED on, but the boys still paintballed hard.) They make it easy to order pizza for the groups, so don't stress about feeding your group. Only worry about plates/napkins & drinks (and cake if you're having a bday shindig). I play paintball regularly all over Texas. I have played at Tanks' facilities multiple times with each experience being worse than the last. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment (or maybe it's the closest location to my home). Never again though. The refs are terrible, the manager is incompetent about the best part of the whole place is their pricing on snacks... $1 drinks and $2 snacks... can't beat that. TXR on the north side will be my go to from here on out. I'll be cancelling my son's bday next month and moving elsewhere. read more

They did recommend arriving 30 minutes or so ahead of reservation to check in & buy your paintballs so easy as pie. Rude service, outdated facility, and gross bathrooms. Very dirty and filthy place. Lots of gnats flying around concessions and chairs disgusting. Wouldn't ever waste my money here again. The staff acted inconvenienced by our presence, and really ruined the tone of the trip for our whole group. I would never go back or recommend. Update: So the owner apparently doesn't like when he doesn't get anything other than a good review and resorts to making up LIES about his customers. My first time ever to tanks in sugar land, tx and I was welcomed with rude associates and a hostile environment I will not spend another dime with this company. We went for the first time with 9 boys (9-10 yo). I must have called several times ahead of our day gathering information. Each and every time, they were courteous, professional, patient and answered all my questions. Even reassuring me they could change my Groupon of airsoft to paintball (face value) that I goofed up. (This mom thought airsoft meant the lower caliber guns the boys would use. It's not. It's a B.B. gun, FYI). They greeted us and explained everything upon arrival. Gathered all the equipment and explained the rules to the boys. All the gear they provided (through our Groupon - guns, 100 paintballs, full face mask & chestplates) all worked great. Highly recommend wearing long sleeves and jeans. Once we understood how their system worked, they all had a good time. Our referee, Chris, was really good with the kids (as were all the refs that I observed). He was patient and kind to the boys. They had a blast! It was hot and muggy and it sprinkled a little bit but they trudged through at least 5 games. They play for a certain amount of time, they bring them back to rest and it continues. You're given a name so when you hear it, you know to gear back up and get ready to go out. We were there for over 3 hours. They never kicked us out or made us feel like we were taking up space from them. Their facilities are nice and clean. If you didn't bring food or drinks, they sell snacks and drinks. Here's some information I believe you will find helpful going for a day; this is based on 9 boys, 4 adults, (only 2 adults played). You can bring your own food and coolers. We went through: 22 Gatorade's, 18 small cans soft drinks, 20 small waters, 25 sandwiches (Jimmy John tray), lots of watermelon, salty snacks and chips. They have several picnic tables outside under a hard cover with a couple fans to help cool it down, that was a plus for a hot June morning/afternoon. On the side of extra paint balls, we ended up purchasing an extra 1500. Keep in mind age group, quantity of kids playing and time you plan on being there to play. (It was worth every extra bit for these guys)! Tanks is an awesome place for kids and parents. If you have any reservations, don't! Call them. They will walk you through it. The only anxiety is understanding how it all works, once you get it, it's easy peasy. Thank you to all who worked that day we were there! read more

My daughter had her 16th birthday party here yesterday. I didn't get the frilly daughter who loves mani and pedis, obviously lol. We checked out another paintball place in town, but this was the one she was impressed with. She had a party with 8 other girls from her soccer team and they had a blast! There are several different courses to choose from and they got their own ref as part of the party package. It was great time and the staff at Tank's is really great about making sure everyone is safe, takes enough breaks and they are having a good time. I was very pleased with how everything was handled and would definitely book another party there if she wanted it. But for my birthday - it's definitely all mani pedi..... I'm dang near 40 - ain't nobody got time to run around 39 acres of different courses shooting their friends with little paint pellets...... just sayin..... LOL!!!!!! read more

I used a Groupon and I'd say that this place was pretty nice! They have a huge shaded area with plenty of tables as well as nice bathrooms if you need to change and what not! They provided chest protection as well as a mask (and gun duh) which was a selling point for me. Other places I emailed said that I could use Groupon but it didn't include protection, that was extra. I also liked how fast TANKS emailed me back!! Another great selling point for me!! The staff seemed pretty young but none the less they were very friendly. I've never been paint balling before so they were very helpful when answering my questions!! They give you a little safety speech before as well as how to work the equipment!! There's a lot of room to run around and they have different games for you and your group to play! Keep in mind, if you don't have a private party, you will be playing with random people. This establishment should not be in business. I have never came across such disrespect in a place you come to spend your money and have fun. After letting the management know about the behavior of the staff we were approached by an employee in an aggressive manner saying "We can have problems if you want problems". We said nothing to this employee. To be approached by an employee looking for a fight is completely unacceptable. The owner did come and try to make things right by offering us free admission on a return. But after seeing his negative review he resorted to lying instead of the apologetic demeanor he had when we were leaving. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The only reason I chose this place is because it was closer than the usual place but boy do I regret it. Never again. Hope this saves someone else the trouble of having a bad experience. read more

Tank's Paintball engages in price gauging and I paid 5x what I had originally thought I would pay. I purchaed $42 tickets through Groupon in advance, but when I arrived to the location they would not honor Groupon because "it's a 3rd party and they have the right to deny at any time". We have called a few times prior and it's the same story. They would not even honor the actual value of the Groupon. I purchased 6 tickets for $210 for less than two hours because you have to sit and wait for you next round of play. This place has some shady practices and did not have this information in the fine print or the Groupon disclaimer. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! C.R.'s review is totally accurate!!! "Extremely unethical that Tank's Paintball would pull a 'bait and switch' by luring people to the site by the highway with tickets that cost only $11 and then refuse those tickets after they had been purchased. They rely on the fact that because you are already at the location, it is very likely you will pay for the $35. I absolutely do not recommend going to Tank's Paintball and warn those who do go that you may end up paying nearly x5 what you expected to once you arrive. I should also add that neither the Tank's Paintball website nor the Groupon site warn potential buyers that their tickets can be turned away at the location due to high equipment demand. Played with random people but it was fun. I was able to go to 3 different locations and I enjoyed the one with the hill the most.
