It's a good place to come and play and people often do. It feels like it's publicly available and that's how it's usually used. I wish the soccer fields here were too, it's very aggravating for me. Memorial Park is amazing and this is a good part of it. It's on the North side close to where Washington meets the Interstate 10.

There is also a large grassy area for toddlers to run around (ours loves to run on the grass). Lots of beautiful live oaks. Had no issue finding parking on the adjacent street. Also, its a piece of old Houston; it was established in 1926. This Rice University area park has a neighborhood organization that takes excellent care of the area. To the tune of $10,000 per year. As well they should, it's one of the last bastions of built-to-last playgrounds. Steel and wood and charm, no plastic. Who doesn't remember climbing on the pumpkin stagecoach at Pumpkin Park? Fleming Park is meant to be charming and unforgettable. If playground equipment isn't your thing, there are plenty of picnic tables, oak trees, and general relaxation areas. A perfect pocket picnic park. There's also a couple of tennis courts, two B-ball hoops, and a baseball diamond. There is no sign for the park, only a list of park rules and a community board. If you're uncertain that you are at the correct park, look for a 15' Totem Pole Bird House that was erected in 1991 by Fletcher Mackey. It is constructed of Cypress and Cedar Wood, ceramic, copper, and painted steel. One item of sadness, some idiot(s) stole the lamb spring ride back in January. There are signs on the community board with a photo and plea for its return. Rather, I should say "her." She was named "Mary the Lamb." Again, she's very, very cute, has a snow white fleece, and a giant metal spring attached to her underside.

On my way to the (super clean!) restroom I I saw that they had a reading room, which made me instantly fall in love! They also have an arts & craft station with materials free to use. There were many families with young kids enjoying the water playground areas. The fact that they have family reservations available lets me know that this park is well aware of its draw and appeal. Birthdays? reunions? book a spot! The nearby restaurants and easy parking are major pluses. Levy Park has a packed calendar of events so I'm bound to be back before the summer ends.

I recently hosted a walk at this very park a few weeks ago and we had a great time. Today, I had a picnic and lavished in the wind, trees and the friendly people nearby. If you ever want to get away from the city & enjoy the peace and quiet, Stude Park is the place to go. I added a group photo of friends and I going for a walk at Stude Park! The pathway was wide enough for us to walk on one side of it without any hassle. Visit this park if you want to escape the city life while still being in the city--thank me later. They have sunflowers here too!!! It's my favorite flower.

A small playground for kids. Available parking in the lot as well as on the street. We had no issue snagging parking in the lot on a Sunday afternoon. While this wasn't my favorite park to visit, I recognize that it's got a lot to offer.
