Since it was a hot and muggy day, free cold water and run thru water mist (provided by the fire dept) were offered. Outside of the stadium, there were multiple food trucks, activity areas, and clean mobile restrooms, not the gross porta potties. Went through security- women make sure to have a clear bag/purse and size as specified. Seating sections were clearly marked. We loved our seats and had no issues with views. Section 330. Restrooms were nearby and if there was a line, it moved fast. Great game! I also appreciated that it's a closed stadium. There were storms during the game and we were not affected. Although after the game, all were notified to shelter in place for a bit due to lightning. Easy peasy experience!

Over dropped us at Petco next to the stadium and it was only a 10 min walk. Entrance process needs work. Too forever to get thru the screening line then it was quick to tap the ticket. Searing signage isn't the best either. We followed an arrow that said we were headed to our seat and ended up walking around the whole thing. Best part of the stadium. . .Verizon WiFi Access and AC. I'm not sure how I felt cold inside the huge stadium when it was 1,000 degrees outside. Prices were as expected; 40 for a beer and seltzer. I'd watch a football game here too. We left using a rickshaw. Austin was great and took us back to the Blossom. I'd use that again instead of waiting for an Uber.

I'm a proud Houstonian through and through and rep the H all day, everyday! I love all the major…read moresports teams but rugby was never something I knew or really hear about. That is until recently when a group of friends and I wanted to do something out of our norm and check out something new to all of us. Introducing the Houston Sabercats, Houston's major league rugby team. The stadium is located right off 288 south of the loop, and right before entering entering into Pearland city limits. I drive by and see the signs daily coming and going from work, but never saw the stadium up close. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting a crowd but was totally surprised driving up and seeing a packed lot with people tailgating. Let me tell you, the fan base was very diverse from young and old and they supported their team proudly. Excitement was in the air which pumped me up as well. Ticket prices were reasonable considering there really isn't a bad seat in the house. There's all kinds of stuff happening in and around the stadium. They have different vendors selling merch, food, and drinks. Platypus Brewing had their own set up right when you walk in, but they also had little tents popped up around selling different food and drinks. There was also another area selling liquor. Merch was pretty spendy, but people were buying them up. The game itself was very fun to watch. I still have alot to learn as far as the rules goes. I would compare it to football, but alot tougher as these guys are going at it with little to no padding. Rugby is something I think I can get behind and I will for sure be back to check it out again.

The game itself was entertaining & our team tore our opponents to pieces. They had a good amount of pop up tents/vendors selling variety of stuff. They had a beer table, snacks, lemonade stand, alcohol stand. & if you want your ball park food they also have a concession stand. The lines moved very fast but they were out of a lot of items. I wanted a hot dog but they were out of it so I ordered their cheeseburger. Which I thought tasted okay. My favorite was their lemonade stand. For 3 dollars a cup I thought that was pretty cheap considering everything is expensive at the ball park. They do have a good amount of parking but it's definitely a hassle and chaotic when everyone is exiting the parking lot. Parking is 15 bucks which is ridiculous for a rugby game but you gotta make money so I ain't mad at it. Overall, it was a great experience and I can't wait to come back for another game. You wanna avoid the chaos parking? Take uber.

I tend to forget about this venue as it is sandwiched between NRG Stadium and the Astrodome. NRG Arena is definitely old school (it was built in 1974). It actually reminds me of Burger Center in Austin which was also built in the 70s (IYKYK). The capacity is 8K, but it seemed smaller to me. Because it's an older venue, it doesn't have features such as illuminated stairs (like Toyota Center). People were using their cell phone flash lights to go up and down the stairs in the dark. The concourse area is a bit on the small side. The bathrooms weren't great but they weren't a complete disaster. On my last visit, I attended the World AIDS Day concert with Janet Jackson (she was amazing!). The staff was helpful with finding our seats as well as the merch table. We had a row of just 3 chairs which meant we had the entire row to ourselves (my best friend is brilliant lol). The sound quality was better than I was expecting, though at one point the volume of Janet's vocals seemed off. I didn't buy any food or drinks, but I imagine it's overpriced like any other venue. Tip: Check their socials for info on parking, bag policy, etc. Parking for the show was $20 (though it varies by event) and they do take cash and credit. The parking lot is right next to the arena so you don't have to walk terribly far. NRG Arena is okay. It's definitely not my favorite venue in the city, but it's good enough.
