Let me tell you now- Hall Street bakery will not let you down, The frozen hot chocolate is fantastic and this BLT is a beast. I ordered tohrough GrubHub but I definitely plan on going in person they don't slack on the bacon when it comes to the BLTs that's for sure they're sandwiches massive and definitely filling. There are a good handful of local coffee shops that also offer baked goods in this area but Hall Street stands out for a couple reasons: They have more than coffee and baked goods - pizzas (they even sell wine/beer and are open in the evenings unlike normal shops like this), they have in site parking and I love taking advantage of their 50% off yesterdays baked goods rack. We enjoy their muffins and cinnamon rolls - but find their breakfast cookies and scones to be dry and bland - personal preference. Quaint shop on hall street that kind of takes you back in time. I tried out the coconut cupcake and my guest had the banana bread. The cupcake was notably dense, unsuspecting for a cake. The coconut flavor was great, but the density of the cake was unfavorable. I am not one for banana bread, but my counterpart thoroughly enjoyed it, also noting that the bread was dense. After our miserable experience at a nearby bakery, some friends texted us, "Drive south a bit to the Hall Street Bakery." So we did, ready for something better. But we didn't find it at this bakery. It was a stylish building, and the inside seating looked very nice and spacious. (There is a patio but since it's March I guess it's too cold for people to sit outside.) But at 1:30 in the afternoon, the bakery had not one thing we were looking for. Even as simple an item as plain croissants, there were none. I already had picked up scones from elsewhere, so I didn't exactly need more scones, but I bought a couple of the Chocolate Cinnamon Chip scones anyway. And my girl and I found them lacking. If you are planning to come here for consistently good food and the great customer service that they use to have DONT. I'm not sure if it was off days or what but I went in like I do weekly to get the same thing and it was made different every time. One time even brought out with cold cheese on breakfast sandwiche and I was told that's the way it's made although I've come here for years. I've receive a completely different sandwich and basically had to pay twice to get what I wanted instead of them fixing it. Which was fine but not the best way for them to go about it. Well, I was here for lunch one day and I'm not sure if I'll ever go back. I must say that the food was delicious. I got the Cuban sandwich with the house salad. My friend and I went on our work lunch. Although when we arrived, it wasn't that busy, there were three people ahead of us in line. We proceeded to sit there for 55 minutes and wait for our food. It definitely wasn't just us... there were other people going up to the counter asking why their food wasn't out yet, but the people that were ahead of me in line had already gotten their food, eaten, and were gone from the restaurant. They proceeded to just say that it was busy and they were backed up. I'm really unsure if this is how slow food always comes out here, but if it is, I really cannot afford to waste that much time in my life on a sandwich. Maybe I will stick to just getting Bakery items, as the chocolate chip cookie that I had was delicious. I certainly will not be stopping for a breakfast sandwich on my way to work. It was downright spicy and almost inedible one time! They have good discounts on older baked good that are still tasty - and some of their drink creations are up there with a few of my favorites. The downside? Prepare to wait for specialty drinks like lattes. Don't be in a rush, either, as it's a popular spot for mommy n me play dates, retirees, staff meetings, and more. Always cool art on rotation. The space isn't all that warm and cozy, so it's not a top spot for my remote work days, and there's a wobbly table (tables?) that must be sacred relics because they haven't been fixed yet. As the sister location to the popular Wealthy Street Bakery, I was expecting big things from this bakery and on my Saturday morning stop I wasn't disappointed. While it still appears to be getting the kinks out since opening a few weeks ago, the bakery is clearly gaining followers as evidenced by the line of people spanning from the counter to the front door. With a similar menu to Wealthy Street Bakery, I knew I wanted an Egg Soufflé, a popular, savory breakfast option. Apparently I wasn't alone in this yearning, as they sold their last one to the person ahead of me. Also all gone was their fruit juices in the front cooler. No worries- I ordered a mammoth cream cheese danish and a coffee. With all the tables and bar stools already filled, I was worried about getting a spot to sit down. Luckily a nice couple offered us their table as they were leaving. It wasn't until we sat down that we saw someone order what appeared to be an egg-like breakfast pizza. It looked phenomenal and I wished that they had all their signage and menus up so that I would've known about that while I was still in line. Given that they are so new, the bare walls and the lack of menus was understandable though. I'm looking forward to visiting in the summer when the front patio area will be open. I'm so excited I like this place because I live just two blocks away! I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was really delicious with the bread was baked in-house! The sandwich was an okay size portion, I'm wishing I would have been able to hold off long enough to take a photo. I went in hungry and came out satisfied, not stuffed. My only complaint is that I ordered a chai latte and the barista made me a regular latte. They don't call it a chai latte, they just list the drink as chai tea with steamed milk, I could tell she was new, so I'm sure I confused her. I didn't say anything when I realized the mistake so it's my fault I didn't get exactly what I wanted. My friend got a giant cheese danish. She requested that they cut it in half, heat one half, and put the other in a to-go container, they were happy to do it for her. And the dessert, very delicious!
