It's been a really long time since we visited The Gathering Place. Our friends had time for a quick breakfast and suggested we go there. Nothing has changed in the fifteen plus years since we've eaten here. Not the restaurant , food or the service. Between pancakes, omelets and just plain eggs, everyone enjoyed their meal. Went for breakfast with some friends and had a waitress with a terrible attitude. Hardly spoke, never smiled, was not the least bit friendly....at all! Even argued with my friend over a simple request. Did not make the experience of being there at all pleasant. Looking around, no one I saw working there looked happy. Even the girl who took our payment wasn't friendly. Is this restaurant a terrible place to work at?? For sure an attitude adjustment is needed to make it a more pleasant place to eat. After church service yesterday, we decided to finally to sit down and enjoy a bite to eat here after it's been catching our eyes for a few weeks now , and I gotta say it's worth the wait time. I'd have to say if you plan on dining in on a Sunday afternoon it might be best to opt in for a reservation but the kind service, warm homely atmosphere and the downright delectable dishes they offer make up for any waiting you might have before hand. We had good service here on Father's Day. The waitress was awesome. I love their little cups for coffee. By the time I needed a refill I drank it and it was always hot. They have the best coffee. The waitress was on it with filling our drinks. The food was great! We all had a wonderful time. The place is a cute quaint little restaurant. Such an amazing place to try. Parking is in the back of the restaurant. No parking in the front it's on a Main Street. Sorry no photos of food I enjoyed myself without taking pictures. Plenty of parking in the back. So me and my grandma and little brother went here on a nice Sunday morning for some breakfast and the hash browns were so good and the cinnamon roll was fire. This is my favorite restaurant. Everything is always delicious and I have missed not being able to eat there for quite a while.

My daughter ordered a waffle and it was mushy inside. When I saw what she was eating I told the waitress who told the manager. The Manager said that they do not make the waffles there and that they come from their supplier and they warm them up. read more

A solid breakfast spot. It feels very homey, like you're dining at a friend's grandmother's house. The menu is varied but relatively simple. I opted for the BELT sandwich with a side of hash browns. I got an iced coffee bc they had it on special and it came in the biggest mug I've ever seen haha. My brother got the farmer's breakfast with sausage, hash browns, and pancakes. I noticed immediately that their syrup was not classic pancake syrup as it was very thick, more like the consistency of honey than syrup (apparently they make homemade syrup). Had lunch today at The Gathering Place. Have eaten there numerous times in the past. First, if you look at their website, you will be amazed at how good the menu looks for seemingly very affordable prices. Problem is: These must be prices from years ago. I had the Turkey Reuben sandwich was $7.90 online but today's price; $12.25. That's a 55% increase! Our waitress was surly from the start. Requested our order immediately after being seated. Came back a few minutes later; not ready yet. Came back again a few minutes later and when we said we weren't ready yet (empty tables all around), she said "he" would be sending her back again in a couple of minutes. Felt like we were on the clock. Ambiance is tired. Food is terrific, service mediocre at best and ambiance ho-hum. I won't be going back for some time. read more

Stopped in for breakfast pretty early and was able to get right in. There was a line when we left after our meal though. This place hasn't changed since it opened and it still feels like you're sitting in your grandmas kitchen. The service was friendly and she took great care of us which meant a lot considering we had a needy kid with us. The food arrived quickly and everything was prepared correctly. I went with the Chorizo Burrito which was a good size but the thing fell apart pretty quickly. Everything seemed like your average diner type of breakfast. Overall, you know what you're going to get here because it hasn't changed over the years. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the food is average. We (group of 4) went to this place after church last Sunday, July 27th. We arrived, walked in and there was a sign that said "Hostess will seat you." There was no hostess to be seen--lots of employees around but no hostess. No employee would make contact with me, either--every one actively avoided eye contact. People began to line up behind us--soon there were a dozen people waiting. We waited close to 30 minutes, and not one person looked at us or spoke to us (one employee pulled out a sign up sheet after about 10 minutes--remarkably doing so without looking at anyone or speaking to anyone!). We left after about 30 minutes. The bad review is not for the wait--I would have waited patiently had someone told us what was going on, or was even friendly, or had even smiled and made eye contact with me. My party's business was clearly not wanted or valued that day, and that is why we left. read more

I absolutely cannot get enough of this breakfast/lunch place in Cascade! My husband and I love small and quaint breakfast places. Fast and friendly service and very good breakfast food. We went at 10:30am on a Saturday and got right in too. I got a simple French toast and sausage and it was perfect, just what I was craving and a decent amount of food. My husband got the meat lovers omelette with 3 different breakfast meats inside. It was good, but I wish they put the cheese inside instead of melting it on top (which might be available if you ask specifically for that). This place is decently priced for breakfast! Ordered takeout lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Had the croissant sandwich with turkey, lettuce and tomato with a side salad. Not sure if it was a mistake but got chips as well. It was incredible value for around $10. I appreciate when places add more to a salad side than just cucumber and tomato wedge. The salad included some shredded carrots, sliced mushrooms, and a great homemade honey mustard dressing. Inside, the place has a cozy, charming, informal chalet-like feel. Guessing some of the original architecture from decades passed. There's quite an extensive menu (for breakfast and lunch/sandwiches) and think they are known for the breakfast. I'll have to bring the family for a weekend breakfast/brunch to try more items. read more

The food came out fast and was delicious. Kid's egg, bacon & toast is actually a good size for a kid like me with a big appetite (better portion than most kid's breakfast I've had). The server was very nice but she only checked on us once at the end. The white chili was so good and the portion was huge - It came in a silver medieval bowl. Next time I want to try the potato soup. My dad loved his omelette and said they made it right by cooking the stuffing and making the omelette in a pan, not just on a flat grill and putting stuff in between scrambled eggs. You will not leave hungry. My wife and I were in the Cascade area getting some errands done and found this on Trip Advisor as a breakfast / lunch place. Abby ,our very attentive server, started us our with coffee, I like Hazelnut and it was excellent, and my wife had the Earl Grey tea. She chose the Greek Omelet that looked, and per her, tasted great. I chose the Farmer's breakfast and what I got would have fed several people. You get 2 eggs, your choice of meat, hash browns and two enormous pancakes. Along with the pancakes comes an almond flavored syrup, made in house made,that I really enjoyed. Per Abby you may get regular maple syrup if you want. This is a cute little restaurant that is located in a building that houses several other business so parking may be a bit of a challenge but don't let that discourage you. They are closed on Monday's but you should definitely try it out. read more
