I recently moved to Los Angeles and have been apartment hunting. I toured several places in the KTOWN/DTLA area, and Diana and JP at Hallasan were the most professional leasing agents I've met so far. I scheduled the tour online, and they even sent me floor plans and videos of the units I was interested in ahead of time. During the tour, they were extremely kind, patient, and took the time to explain everything in detail. The moment I walked into the lobby, I loved the resort-like atmosphere. Since the building is newly built, the design is beautiful, and the amenities are excellent especially the security system. As a single-occupant living in Hallasan's studio for two years, here is my honest review of this place: Overall, amenities are well kept! Management respond to inquiries, maintenance request, and other types of concerns very fast! Staffs are very friendly! My studio room was very quiet and soundproof! So, worth the money in that point of view. HOWEVER, If you are a looking to rent out a studio in Hallasan, I would say read the fine print and maybe consider elsewhere. Parking As a single-occupant, you do not get to park here PERIOD. You need to get your own parking space elsewhere. (Nearby parking structure charges $150/month) House Rules They change their guest parking, package, EV parking, amenities, and other types of house rules every time. EV parking They didn't give me a remote to access their communal EV Charging Space (5 available) at first, but after a year and a half they finally gave me one. You will encounter people who simply parks at EV space, but the staffs has done a great job of towing these cars.However, some people just forgets their car fully charged for hours... So just be aware of this issue. I was able to charge my car at least 3 times a week without any problem. So, why 4/5? The smell around this apartment is REALLY BAD. The smell of dog piss is everywhere, dog's waste in every grass surrounding the aprtment. Also, parking is VERY LIMITED for single occupants w/ Studio, so please be warned (Unless they change this issue in the future)! read more

I've loved living at Hallasan Apartments! The community is beautiful, well kept, and has such a great vibe. The leasing team JP, Elisia, and Kim have all been incredibly helpful and welcoming from day one. Maintenance is always quick and reliable, shoutout to Fernando, Luis, and Oscar for taking care of everything so efficiently. UPDATE: I want to clarify a few important points based on my actual experience: 1. During the pre-move-out inspection, I was physically present with the staff member. I was clearly told that only one small wall hole was an issue. The checklist from that day has now disappeared, and all the additional charges appeared only after I moved out. 2. Every explanation I received was just an estimate -- not a real vendor invoice. They kept sending the same estimate sheets without providing any actual documentation. 3. The utility charge of $632.90 was deducted upfront even though the bill is marked "ESTIMATED" and is still under review. I simply asked why such a high amount was taken before the final bill was confirmed. 4. A total of $3,130.40 was deducted from my deposit based entirely on estimates, with no vendor invoices to support any of the charges. None of these items were mentioned during the pre-inspection, and all appeared only after I moved out -- without any proper explanation. And most importantly, the money was already taken from my deposit with no explanation, no invoices, and no proper documentation at all. Nothing about this process feels fair or transparent, and I have still not received legitimate documentation for the charges taken from my deposit. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I paid every rent and utility bill on time for two full years without a single issue. But the moment I moved out, they suddenly slapped me with an outrageous list of extra charges that were never mentioned before. During the pre-move-out inspection, the staff clearly told me that everything was fine except one small wall hole. Later, they added multiple new fees that were never brought up in person. Whenever I asked for explanations or proper documentation, they ignored my questions and kept sending the same attachments repeatedly with no real answers, no transparency, and no accountability. There is also no dedicated guest parking, so visitors have nowhere to park even for a short moment. It is extremely inconvenient for anyone who has guests. For a resident who paid everything faithfully for two years, being hit with unfair and excessive charges at the end is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this place to anyone who wants honesty, fairness, and basic communication. read more

Moving into a new apartment can be stressful, but I wanted to share a positive experience I had as a new resident here. I ran into an issue with my refrigerator shortly after moving in. Once I contacted the office, maintenance came out, confirmed the issue, and replaced the refrigerator. Hoping to save some people some time and energy. I booked a tour to come see this property in person. I did not learn until arrival they do not offer parking for studio apartments, and are not planning to ever offer it. Apparently, because the property owners couldn't budget it in to build. So they built this property without enough parking options for the residents. Also, all of the 3,200 to 3,300 apartments are apparently facing construction that will go on for two years. After all of this information, I decided not to even tour. Does the property even want people to move in ? Good luck to them. read more

I've lived in several places. Out of the places I have been, in LA. This offers the best customer service I have ever seen. To name a few people, I a very impressed with Kevin, Tatiana who manage the front desk. They always greet me and make feel safe and welcome at home. I've lived at Hallasan for a year, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a professionally managed community. While the management does communicate, much of what they say is misleading, and there is no accountability or compensation when major issues happen -- like the water being shut off for days at a time. The building itself has ongoing problems. The elevators are unreliable and often go out of service for minor issues, which is frustrating and concerning for a building this size. Parking is assigned for residents, but guest parking is a nightmare. The front desk staff is especially rude when it comes to visitor parking, treating guests like they are a problem instead of offering help. As a resident, you're expected to pay immediately for any charge they decide to place on your account, including $100 late fees or $50 lockout fees -- often without clear warning. Meanwhile, when you bring up real concerns, the leasing office becomes dismissive, annoyed, and unprofessional. It often feels like they do whatever they want without any regard for residents. Living here was more stressful than it should ever be. I would not move here again. read more

True to most people's experiences, moving is never easy and it's even crazier when it's to live with your significant other and 2 pets for the first time in a new building that's working out all the kinks. We noticed our bathroom fan was not working in the master due to contractor errors and not due to maintenance negligence. Louis has been stellar at promptly addressing the problem and being so mindful of our pets and schedule. He communicated his process and schedule thoroughly and always made sure we felt comfortable with it. He's been such a joy to get to know and a key player in making this place feel more like a home. So far it looks great on the outside and on the inside but you really have no clue how things are going to be for. You if your a person that struggles with her mental health like me. The government has made it mandatory for high end buildings to except people with vouchers to live in places like this so my communication is to the owner. People will complain about them but your job is not to bully them but to educate them. Educate your employees and let them know that people do have human rights. You have the money ? I don't know but if you do please build a dance studio. People like to dance. To stretch. To twerk. In the pool and outside. To content create. Content creation promotes the business . Why not utilize the space that's been built I don't wanna live in or at a place where I am told you cannot hang out in the lobby with your luggage. This is my home. I am a person with a disability that litterely beds my luggage every where I go. I understand you guys is deep need to keep the place tidy but this world is not only for the people that are able. But for the disabled too. Instead of complaining about people with disabilities build . Solutions. It's the rich is job other wise they will build cases against you and sue you all. Iam telling you . The government funds me and rich people think they run this country when they don't. It's litterely the U.S. government and when I say people have the right to enjoy their music inside and outside of their apartment unless you post a note that says no loud music in the lobby. You have to ost it so they can see it so they don't have nothing to ost or write against you all. I am here to warn you not to sue you. All employees need onsite training. ok so i moved in last friday... having lived in highend highrise apts over the years, i can conclude that no apt is perfect. they all have pros and cons always... over time.. to cut to the chase, my ultimate deciding factor of my decision to move in, was the property management team. more important than breadth taking views and amenities.., i believe that whoever runs/manages the building can ultimately make it or break it for the residents. ill post a long term resident review later. I've been here for the past few months and I can say my experience has been pretty exceptional from the start, from tour, to moving in, to everything else up until this point. Aside from the obvious perks of being in a new building, I think the staff here is what sets Hallasan a part from my previous buildings. Every single staff member I've had the pleasure of interacting with has been so warm, welcoming, and honestly just do their jobs super well and always with positive energy. I'm not sure if it's the training received, or if Hallasan just hires amazing people, or both? But so many things have made me appreciate what goes into making Hallasan a solid place to live. The little things have really added up to an overall great experience for me: leasing agents always remembering you by name, front desk staff getting the elevator for you without you even asking and (remembering your floor!!) when you're hands are full, and prompt/respectful/cheerful maintenance staff! Absolutely recommend this building for the building itself (gorgeous, safe, peaceful, great location, etc.), but also for the support, service, and security (the staff!!) you get with living here. Lived here for a short term. It has everything you need without stressing about gym memberships pool or a place to throw a party. The rooftop is like a hotel getaway. The building is quite empty now and no eatery's directly on the ground floor right which is great. No feel smells or rodents coming up to the building. Although being on the higher floor I have experienced rodents so with this being a new building I'll stay for a while. The kitchen and bathroom design of the whole layout is great. Waited a bit since my boyfriend and I moved in to write this review to really gauge how I feel about this place. The apartment complex itself and our unit is so nice. The views are great and the space is great. Not much amenities considering how expensive and "luxury" this place is. Rooftop has a curfew that kicks everyone out at 10pm. Elevator access to the roof gets shut down on the dot so if you're still on the roof only way to get back to your apartment is to go to the first floor then key your way back up to your unit. Honestly for how much we and everyone who lives here pays, rooftop curfew is a joke. Gym is nice they have warm towels you can use and most equipment necessary to have a good gym session. They have a coworking space on the first floor that we can never use because the leasing agents use them LOL. My boyfriend was really looking forward to using those coworking rooms because he works remote and likes working with his team in person sometimes. Our leasing agent told us it would be available to use only once most units have filled. It's been about half a year now of living here and still have never been able to use it. Second day after move in our dishwasher and washer/dryer broke. Had to call maintenance to come fix it. Was really took aback second day of living here and things were breaking. Not to mention the dryer shrinks our clothes no matter which setting we put it on. But kudos to the maintenance people for fixing it same day. More recently we've had a unit inspection which from what management had posted was to make sure everything maintenance wise was working. But really we knew it was to snoop in our unit. Not surprised when we got a notice that we weren't allowed to have our bike on our patio after the inspection and my boyfriend had to remove the lock to his office. Speaking of bikes. Just today we found out that on all floors where we can lock our bikes they were all broken into with a crowbar and some residents bikes were stolen. Luckily our bike wasn't stolen because it was double locked but it was noticeable that they had tried to cut the wire. Another resident even had their whole freaking car stolen from the parking lot which is btw supposed to be guarded by security! These security guards never do their job. I'm a nurse so I leave the complex pretty early at 5:30am when I work. NEVER do I see the security down by the entrance. They are always either in their car sleeping or who knows where. Like how can yall not be diligent enough to check that an unmarked car came in and was able to go to every single floor to steal peoples bikes and even a car. Ridiculous. There's always cars driving around the parking lot looking suspicious and driving extremely fast. It's very clear those cars don't live here. When we first moved in we saw a car scanning everyone's license plate to makes sure they were residents. Where the heck did that go? Cars are always blocking the garage exit and security never does anything. One of them even got into a screaming match with my boyfriend when my boyfriend asked them to help. Management needs to do something else besides replacing the guards with new ones. Clearly that isn't working. This place is supposed to be a luxury complex but surely doesn't feel like it. What's next? A resident getting hurt by these random people getting access inside through the garage gate? read more
